>What are the odds of meeting undead in town?
Depends on where you go and at the time of day. Stick to the main streets and important businesses at broad daylight, and the odds could get as small as 10% each hour.
>>54070676
That's a cumulative 10% per hour, I hope. Your town isn't.. lifeist, is it?

"Won't touch it unless it's official" Edition
For all your questions on Dark Heresy (1st and 2nd Editions), Rogue Trader, Deathwatch, Black Crusade, and Only War.
Not the wargame, not Chapter Master, not Space Hulk. Inquisitor is okay, but not many people know about it.
Not sure between starting Dark Heresy 1e and 2e? Pick 2e.
>Why did FFG lose the 40k RPG License?
Because they were bought by Asmodee and that caused some sort of licensing conflict.
>Will GW make their own 40k RPGs now?
Probably not. But if they do it will likely be worse than you could possibly imagine.
Book Repositories (If you're planning to download any Rogue Trader materials, read the .txt file in the RT directory)

Besides the Horus Heresy and the modern Dark Millennium, do you ever consider running games in other periods, like the War of the Beast or the Macharian Crusades?
>>54022726
Those time periods are meme periods. Nothing concrete is known about them. Thats why everything is 800M41, thats what FFG has defined for us, so that is what we use. End of discussion.
>>54022726
I've had games as far back at M38 but no, I've never put my players in the middle of existing events, mostly because it renders the players irrelevant due to the event being a foregone conclusion, or the players find a way to muck stuff up and entirely change the event. Both of which are reasons I think Black Library books based on existing events are, with rare exception, their worst..
I mean, I'm sure you can wave away shake ups in the event with "Everything is True" or "loose canon" whatever the in-phrase is for that at the moment, but it's just easier for me to come up with my own stuff for the players to deal with.
>>54023538
If anything that's a plus, less canon to get in the way.

Y'know, I always found submarine deck guns really interesting. Did they have to tilt the barrels down to run water out of them before they could be used, or did they have some kind of self-draining vent system?
Gather around men, for glory waits for no one!
As you are all very likely aware of. Our mighty Strike Cruiser, the "Eagle's Fury", stands near motionless. The machine spirit of it's Warp drive having finally 'bit the bullet', as it were; And to make matters worse, our Tech-priest Enginseers tell me that we lack the necessary parts to fully repair it!
But fear not, for the Emperor has seen fit to provide us a way out of this conundrum! For a short distance away, lies a space hulk! From it, our Enginseers, believe they can scavange the necessary parts to repair our Warp Drive!
So, while we await our ship to prepare boarding tubes. I am calling for a surprise Field Kit Inspection! So present arms, and equipment for Inspection!
>Welcome to '''Field Kit Inspection!', home of the 'Unknown Regiment". Feel free to join in! Remember though, we tend to use spoilers for OOC chat, while greentexts for are used for describing a character's actions. D20s are for combat checks and d100s for other things you wish to roll, with higher being better.
*my lasgun is all slimy rawr*
>the red clad figure approaches the commissar
+this is correct organic, the hulk will be in range of tubes in 12 minutes. are you prepared? we will need to reach the enginarium+
>>54117874
That's your own fault, beast.
>>54117829
Captain Matthias Wyvern, of the third Company, reporting for duty, Commissar!
Our kit is fully prep'd and ready for inspection!
>the villain is an evil not-Catholic pope
Should I say anything? I probably shouldn't be so sensitive, but it really seems like my GM is really putting a focus on vilifying the religion, and to take exaggerations of its past misdeeds and soapbox about them.
I have a feeling that it will blow up into a big argument, but I really just wished he'd keep his personal feelings toward organized religion out of our games.
>>54116766
Nigga, are you serious? How many times has this been done in RPGs, vidya, novels, etc already? Doing the good grace of assuming this isn't just a crappy bait thread to waste your and everyone else's time for (you)s, no you shouldn't be so sensitive. This doesn't even have to come from the CC itself, this could just come from secondary media which have used this plot.
>>54116766
Can we get some examples of what he's done? This could really go either way.
>>54116766
>you're not allowed to have evil religious people because of muh fees fees
kys
Why are you still using dice and other RNG to determine the outcomes of your games, /tg/?
I'll list the reasons you shouldn't
>They don't let you properly play your concept, either by rolling stats too high or too low in the wrong places
>Le ebin nat1/nat20 maymay
>Succeeding when you shouldn't
>Not succeeding at the simplest shit because you rolled terribly and getting surpassed by even a random NPC even if it's in shit within your wheelhouse
>Damage goes from 1-4 or at best 1-12, too big of a spread
>not winging it
I haven't rolled a die in almost a year and my players haven't noticed yet
>>54114703
I agree that most GMs call for rolls *entirely* too much, but dice are still fun so long as you know when not to use them.
>>54114703
Ever tried not rolling dice for tasks PCs are expirienced in if there is no risk in the situation? Ever tried saying to your players it is impossible and no roll would do it?
Are there any good simple fantasy RPGs that AREN'T a clone of OD&D? I keep checking out different recommended games for an old-school feel and EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. is minor variations to the same fucking ruleset.

Welcome to two weeks ago. Also, yes, the existence of a space military is something unique to 40K, there are no other science fiction settings that this could lead to happening just as if not more easily than your little miniatures game.
>>54108826
But 40k is the only one sufficiently grimdark so as to befit real life.
>>54108839
Real life is true neutral.
Hey there, /tg/
It's come to my attention that someone went through the trouble of creating a small system for a Symphogear game, and I wanted to run it because I have no control over my hype.
What I can tell you is that the game will be fixed level progression, it will start at level 1, but there may or may not be an early game training montage to jump a few levels. It will be set in the US, after the events of the third season. The players will be part of the special task force F.O.R.T.E., or the Federal Organization for Relic Tracking and Engineering. Players will be required to include a character song to be played during combat, preferably off-vocal.
Players will be allowed up to two rerolls total when determining stats, and alchemists are off limits.
I know the system as written is a mess. If there's anything you're unclear on, please ask and I'll be more than happy to go over it with you.
PDF will follow in the next post.
>>54107032
>rolled stats
>>54107044
It's the way the system works. I've also considered just rolling stats myself, then letting people choose where to place them. That way, not everyone is the same, but everyone has the same to work with.
>ask a friend to run a campaign over the summer
>he's really happy about it, starts planning immediately
>game is in a couple weeks
>he walks in one evening carrying a fuckhuge detailed, coloured map
>"This is the game world, anon isn't it neat?"
>tell him it looks like shit jokingly
>he walks off to his room, suddenly all depressed and shit
>get a text message that the campaign is off
Why can't some people take jokes about tabletop stuff? I told him within seconds it looks great, but he's still pissed about it.
>>54106852
It sounds like your friend has confidence and anxiety issues. While it's something they need to learn to cope with, you also might think about being a little more sensitive with them in future. They clearly put in a lot of effort, and if you have that kind of anxiety it can be very hard to convince yourself someone isn't just saying nice things to make you feel better after that kind of initial response.
>suggest a weekend away with the gf, just the two of us
>she's really happy to have some romantic time to rekindle the relationship and starts planning for it
>it's the week running up to the weekend
>she shows me the hotel room she's booked and chats about everything she's got planned
>laugh and comment that it sounds like it's going to be fucking awful
>she storms out of the room
>get a text message saying that it's called off
Jesus Christ, why are women so autistic?
There is an autist in that equation all right, but it ain't you friend you fucking tone deaf mongoloid.
Why is it so fucking hard to unwrap yourself from those hundreds upon hundreds of irony you've buried yourself under to not kill yourself from how depressing your life is, and give a genuine compliment to your friend who has spent time and effort to give your group a good experience?
Are there many other RollPlay fans here? well how about a thread for discussion
What's your favorite series?
Favorite cast member/guest character ?
What types of games do you want to see in the future?
What do you think of the show as a whole?
Personally I'm watching there second season of court of Swords, a big improvement over the first season witch i'd dropped. I think the setting clicks a lot better when there isn't the same need to exposition everything through character interaction in a series meant to be focused on hardcore combat.
I dropped it after Neal left because he was the best dm there.
>>54099958
Do they drop thag weird tarot card ruler thing later?
It felt really forced and nobody, not even the dm, could keep track of it with the king being a girl and the queen being a guy
