Pathfinder General /pfg/
Does /pfg/ like elves, or is it all about the animal races and the tieflings around here? When was the last time you saw an elf in a /pfg/ game app?

Dragons 2 was last night. Here's a more detailed recap of the last part
>Shitty memedog attempts to move plot forward by talking with not!Jessica Rabbit's rival
>Gets annoyed with all the barbs and insults being thrown
>Gets REALLY annoyed when a quarter of the session goes by discussing Calsica's tits
>Annoyance level reaches MAXIMUM when they get ambushed
>And nobody was on the lookout
>They were all looking at Calsica's tits
>Memedogs face when they're surrounded by dragons with axes and fireballs all ready prepped
How have your sessions gone, /pfg/?
>>52445158
I like the elves. I play a lot of half-elves with cute elf parents, like a Qadiran Bloodrager whose mom owned his elven father, or an Andoran cleric whose elven mother abandoned him because she was a murder hobo who wanted to go fight demons.
>>52445158
The half-elves from BF:I basically sum up my opinion from them. Racist shits who need to remove the entire uprooted trees from their collective assholes.
So when was the last time the fantasy genre had an original or innovative idea? It seems that the generic DnD fantasy industry has stagnated the genre and everyone is just fine with how things are.
>>52444458
Name *any* genre that has had a single original or innovative idea in the last couple hundred years or so.
Is this your life now?
Making shitthreads on /tg/?
>>52444503
Horror has been going through many innovations ever since Mary Shelly wrote Frankenstein. It's a genre that's always out to find the next scary thing.
What would you populate a d100 injuries chart with for minor injuries that a character still might have to care about or treat.
The game is D&D 5e, and these will be pulled out on a crit, and can be mitigated by rolling inspiration and add to the initial score
>>52444413
I'd been planning to use most minor injuries as scars, perhaps a risk of infection and inflammation if they aren't treated.
In a hostile environment, the players would have to judge whether to press on or risk discovery for their injuries
>>52444413
permanent disadvantage on ranged attacks? loss of an eye should be disadvantaged in melee if anything. your list sucks please don't make injury lists if you have no medical experience.
>>52444676
I just found the DMGs one lacking
>there are people who describe the details of their action before rolling
What drives a man to do this?
>>52443899
Modifiers might apply to the roll depending on how the character performs the action.
>>52444176
Shit system detected.
>>52443899
>there are people who role play
yeah fuck those guys
how do you world-build in your campaigns if you run original stories?
I just steal all my shit from Star Trek episodes.
>>52443864
i be creative and plan out my universes ahead of time, adding anything i like or am certain hasn't been done before and think i could do it justice
you hack
>>52443888
dude, name me one culture/society and I'm pretty fucking sure Star Trek has done it.

>due to a mystical, divine calamity in the ancient past, the laws of physics have been distorted in a highly specific way
>all projectiles and magical effects launched with the intent to harm and/or hinder are hard-capped at a range of 25 feet, after which point they stop and slowly fall, inert and harmless
>yes, even if they are launched indirectly, like through a catapult, a cannon, a trap, or a magical construct
>even if the intent to harm and/or hinder is subconscious
>area-of-effect projectiles and magical effects, like bombs and fireballs, can travel out to 25 feet and explode even past that point
>with extensive magical training, someone can learn to extend this range to 50 feet, as long as they are the ones to directly launch the projectile or magical effect
>with a remarkable amount of magical training, 100 feet
>with a truly stupendous amount of magical training, 200 feet
What kind of combat methods and warfare would arise in such a world?
>>52443690
This has got to be the most convoluted way someone has tried to explain the resurgence of melee weapons.
>>52443690
Teleportation based projectiles. The object moves 5 feet, ends up 258 miles away before detonation.
Submunitions, a bomb that travels 25 feet and disintegrates into more bombs that travel 25 feet which disintegrate into more bombs which....

Dropped bombs and planted mines
So, I have been playing most of the Warhammer 40K games I could get my hands on and did at some point actually start building an army, although I never finsihed it (actually quite expensive and time consuming, both of which I was low on at the time).
Never got around to read much lore tho,
Would you say it is worth the read (seeing as some Books are quite literally pure heresy) ?
Stumbled upon this: https://www.humblebundle.com/books/horus-heresy-warhammer-book-bundle
>>52443587
Why even buy the books? In a few editions, Gullmon will be retconned into being a closet heretic who loved Horus as more than a brother.
40k lore is all fucked. You should just hang tight till it's at least consistent.
>>52443587
The first three books are very much worth reading, everything after that is hit and miss.
If you like the Inquistion, you should give the Eisenhorn Series a try, I quite like them. Titanicus is also not bad.
How does Horus (or most Primarchs) look around in that unreasonably colossal armor? Like it blocks the majority of their field of view.
>>52443441
With a HUD overlay and micropictors, like everyone's been doing for 28,000 years.
>>52443492
this
Also, who gives a fuck about actual visison if there is little to nothing you cannot sense that can kill you ?
>>52443492

But what if you have to look at the Emperor in the face but the table is too crowded for you to turn your entire body around?

Just about done with my Caladius Grav Tanks and I'm so salty Custodes can't use them in 40k. May just count them as allied Fire Prisms or some shit.

Pathfinder General /pfg/
Do your armored characters ever take off their armor to look pretty?
What are some unusual races you've allowed, or have been allowed to play?

Okay DM so I know that you like to feel all smug and self satisfied by those 'casuls' who don't want a 15 pb game with 20gp and dire piranhas tied to the balls of the PCs, but real talk I played in a game almost exactly like this and it died after two or three sessions because of shit getting really slow and dull. Because you're not just taking away power, you're taking away versatility, removing the tools at the PC's disposal when you should be expanding them and increasing difficulty accordingly.
>>52441521
She used to but in order to fully seal herself off from the outside world she horribly mutilated her body so that her armor physically and permanently slotted itself into her body.

>Do your armored characters ever take off their armor to look pretty?
Yes! My paladins always have beautiful dresses and other context-sensitive clothes for everything from weddings to feasts to trips to the market to quiet sparring and exercise in between adventures. It's the only rational approach!
