Is colonizing Mars just a meme?
>too far away
>too cold
>too low gravity
>no atmosphere
>full of radiation
It makes much more sense to just build this thing in our orbit and be comfy
>>8695441
> terraforming
>>8695441
it would be far cheaper to hollow an asteroid or build orbital structures than to colonize mars
with that said, orbital structures would have to cope with the low gravity, the low temperatures, and the radiation
still the reduced distance makes for a huge reduction in cost
>>8695448
also,
> there are tens of thousands of space debris orbiting the Earth
> they are moving at $20,000mi/s
What is some good software that I can pirate to learn math?
There are these things called books....

Hello /sci/, can someone help me derive a good approximation of this integral and get a function in terms of f(y). Vo a k
Vo, a, k and beta are just parameters!
>>8705907
Use this (probably)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Method_of_steepest_descent
I'd do it for you, but I'm too lazy

If engineers are slaves to scientists and scientists are slaves to mathematicians ipso facto would engineers be slaves to mathematicians?
>>8703587
ipso facto my balls, nerd
>>8703587
>attached an image of something designed by an engineer
what did he mean by this...
>>8703587
Yes. But no one is a slave to anybody in this context
is botany a good science. i really love plants and the study of them. what are some good books about botany in general.
BAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA WHAT A BRAINLET
oh man, soft sciences man... they need to go

>Tfw not very smart
>tfw still love math and science
>tfw it is a constant source of humiliation and sorrow
i should quit doing it but thought and introspection are the only things that make me happy. i hate being told constantly that i am biologically pre-disposed to be stupid but i don't know what else to do.
>inb4 kill yourself
i know that already i am just too scared
Its the best science because you love it.
Others just hate themselves.
Nor reccomendations for you though sorry.
why is 4chan still using captcha? surely there are better, more advanced Turing test technologies out there than this shit?
>>8705139
Half are real captcha, the other half is google building its neural network at recognising objects. Basically, street numbers, street signs and store front are legit captcha, anything else is bullshit and you can give any input.
They used to do the same with text and /b came up with the idea of putting nigger in all the bullshit fields.
>>8705184
yeah i remember that during joot's time magazine win, the fag behind captcha got so assblasted that he wrote to journalists saying
>i-it w-was not hacked or manipulated, just a technicality. recaptcha is the best l-la
not sure if you guys have noticed but there are various patterns to the captcha, almost like a few single prompt test runs to "trust" the user and next time a pseudo-test followed by the captcha with a black square around the image which is a completely untrained image, you can select anything and it will accept.
>tfw x-ray missed my lung cancer
>tfw been ill for 6 months with various complaints and now gps have just written me off as a hypochondriac , even though all my complaints have related to the same illness
>tfw am now getting seriously ill with splitting headaches and spine pain(not even exaggerating) from metastasises
>tfw gonna die in pain at home
what the fuck should i do? i cant afford a private scan, why are doctors so utterly useless at diagnosing people?
>>8705107
JUST FUCKING KILL YOURSE;F YOU WORTHLESS HYPOCHONDRIAC. YOU DIDN'T HAVE PANCREATIC CANCER AND YOU DON'T HAVE LUNG CANCER.
>>8705107
wait so you don't actually have radiographic confirmation that you have lung cancer, but you've already managed to also deduce that this lung cancer has metastasized?

What science and math classes did you take during high school?
You ignored the #1 rule of 4chan, never make the image in the OP more interesting than the topic

welcome to Yale

looting is good. literally no one is hurt as there is insurance for this scenario
well?

I have a yellow/black/brown substance burnt onto a piece of aluminum foil, that may or may not had been used as drug paraphernalia. I need some way to test this burnt substance for trace amounts of illicit drugs. Does anyone know what way would be best to do this? I was thinking it would be a good idea to dissolve it off of the foil using an organic solvent, along with physical scraping of it, and then testing that with one of the drug testing kits off of Amazon or something. Pic related is the aluminum foil with the substance burnt onto it.
thats not meth
it doesnt really look like heroini know but if you burn it a little what does it smell like?
alternitively i guess nitric acid is a good test? google that shit
Likely it was just some junkie trying to figure out exactly what you're doing as gross as that might be.
>>8703517
looks like heroin, finish it up and let us know.
Theres no point in testing, thats oxycodone
Mathematical modeling problem. Any ideas?

I know /sci/ prides itself on not being /x/...
all that aside, What conspiracy theories does /sci/ think could be semi-plausible? Provide credible evidence where possible. Just curious.
>>8699122
That God is real.
Just kidding, there's no way he could be real.
>>8699122
The jews. But it's not a conspiracy theory or even a conspiracy, just a fact of life.
The class warfare is still running underground. Except there's only one side still fighting for real, and they are winning.
What do you think happen after we die ?
>>8703170
Nothing of course.
Does a car drive again after its been wrecked?
Does a computer work with the components ripped out?
Your body is a conciousness machine. Once the machine breaks down, conciousness ends.
This is really very simple.
