I need to come up with a research project about 3D printing.
I have about $3000 in funding and about 2 months.
It can either be about hardware, software, or generally how people interact with 3D printers and the generals.
My original idea would be something about different infill patterns or the like (aka some sort of new default setting which would add a certain property to the print).
I have access to both PLA/ABS and a FormLabs Form 2+ printer.
Any suggestions?

Is this related to FPSPI in any way? Just curious

Nope.
It's a class im taking.

Well sci bros I fell for the Physics meme.
I'm halfway through my physics undergraduate course at college and am going to drop it and do medicine in another euro country.
I'm leaving physics because i realised while studying that I had to dedicate time to it but I honestly didn't want to spend/exchange my time to learn the maths and abstract physics concepts.
I had doubts in first year and thought I'd give it another hear to be sure. I'm glad I did it as I've learned a lot but I don't think it's for me.
I wanted to do medicine towards the end of high school but physics caught my interest.
What is medicine really like? I know physics was portrayed quite differently as to how it really is.

Incoming reality-check.
You don't have what it takes to study Medicine.
>>8704250
Medical studies in a nutshell:
* Rote memorization
* Blood
* Slime
* Shit
* Urine
* Difficult people
medicine is autist level attention to detail and memory retention. We're talking 5 hours every night for 5 years of pure reading and memorization.
There's a reason only pajeets and chinks do it. They are robot people without souls anyway, it comes naturally.
He waited until less than two weeks before SpaceX was going to announce their ITS to announce his New Glenn launch vehicle.
Of course his rocket was blown the fuck out by the ITS.
The question is, was he trying to steal some of SpaceX's thunder, thinking that the ITS was going to be of similar scale to New Glenn? Was he afraid that the ITS was going to completely overshadow New Glenn once it was announced so decided to announce beforehand in order to get at least some attention? Will he ever come up with a name for his rockets that isn't cringey?

look at the way the washpost is going after Trump.
He's a petty asshole, just because someones a billionaire doesn't make them a logical or nice person.
>>8703711
I think Blue Origin's problem is that they just don't have any experience with the sort of PR that Space-X does. They're older than Space-X but they've only really started to talk about shit within the past couple years. For most of their existence they've been close lipped so they never really created a brand like Space-X did. It doesn't help that Bezos is nowhere near as charismatic as Musk.
Also Blue Origins names aren't cringey. There's nothing wrong with naming rockets after astronauts.
>>8703953
His code-name for New Glenn was 'Very Big Brother', how he expected that to generate hype is beyond me.

with giant space lasers I can reach it in 40 years, checkmate OP
now that you've realised this, why don't you make it the purpose of your life to help as much as you can to the progress of human space travel, or decipher teleportation, or something that might get you close to changing that fate?
I want to prove the collatz conjecture and part of my proof is that I need to show that (2x+1)*2^y is a surjection onto N (y,x eof N) - actually I need to prove it for a bunch of functions (they all are surjections onto N) but this is the easiest one and I need to know the pattern of the proof.
How I do that? Please help bros.
You're expecting the virgins of /sci/ to teach you how to solve a millennium problem and get yourself million dollars.
>>8710687
Just carry the ones bro
(2x+1)*2^y is always even. Dude.
Why is pretty much all life on earth symmetrical? Is it the only way life can form?
I really wish I was a Zebra mare getting constantly fucked by stallions every day and have gallons of spunk drip out my marecunt.
Life has varying degrees of symetry. Jellyfish are rotationally symmetric, so are plants, most other animals have a symmetric plane through their spine (or a similar position). Flounders and certain crabs are not symmetric. Also, animals aren't symmetric on the inside, as heart, liver, spleen, etc. have a preferred side. Also, the brain isn't fully symmetric.
Some Viruses are even point-symmetric to their center.
Molds are only symmetric at the crossection of their fillaments,.

literally as bad as creationists
humans need to accept their lack of ability to comprehend universal origins

but the question is...how long until we can?
assuming we don't extinguish ourselves and that we manage to live on beyond the death of our solar system.
>>8710436
>implying that the big bang theory says that it happened from nothing
The universe has always existed. Before the big bang it compressed itself until there was enough matter concentrated for it to expand again.
How would I go about studying chemistry in less than two nights, and fast?
The topics covers the start to Stoichiometry.
Assuming you are panic studying for a test, I'd just focus on getting a good calculation routine, there's a rather limited amount of problems to ask in basics of anything
>>8710343
I don't know anything actually (I doze off during class).
But right now, I'm pretty determined to pass the test.
How should I approach this? Can you recommend me a good online resource?

So I had this really big argument with a friend of mine yesterday and it got me wondering: is it true that wi-fi signal and cell phone waves are bad for your health?
>>8710333
if radio waves were harmful to humans we'd all be dead from a hell of a lot more things than cell phones and wi-fi
>>8710340
well in the last years the rate of cancer grew a lot and this was mostly associated with cell phone usage, at least that's what some studies show
>>8710348
I'm sure it has everything to do with harmless radio waves and nothing to do with the constantly rising rate of carcinogenic air pollution
I have some really dirty sodium acetate, if I dissolve it in a minimal amount of water and then pour acetone (sodium acetate isn't soluble in it) will it fall out of solution as pure crystals? Is this a good method for purifying it?
pls respond
Use as little as possible hot water to solve everything. Cool off, wait for crystalization. Remove excess water/filter. Repeat if needed. Acetone might work as well. But remember that aceton is watersoluable.
You can also try washing off the impurities using only acetone.

Whats the scientific explanation of how my stomach managed to develop immunity from eating raw garlic /sci/?

You have fructans sensitivity. This is due to an imbalance in gut bacteria and causes you pain when fructans (fructose chain found in garlic, undigestable by humans) are consumed.
The pain is caused directly by gas buildup from the fermentation of fructans.
Its possible that your gut bacteria balanced out in response to consistantly high levels of fructans fermentation.
Its also possible but unlikely that this is due to neural adaptation.
>African-American chemist Percy Julian was a pioneer in the chemical synthesis of medicinal drugs such as cortisone, steroids and birth control pills.
>Born in Alabama in 1899, pioneering chemist Percy Julian was not allowed to attend high school but went on to earn his Ph.D. His research at academic and corporate institutions led to the chemical synthesis of drugs to treat glaucoma and arthritis, and although his race presented challenges at every turn, he is regarded as one of the most influential chemists in American history.
