You are the TEMPLAR, a holy knight sent to clear the frontier of monsters and heresy!

After that sparring mach with Valentia, the next couple of days passed on without much happened. When she finally came to, Valentia was quite adamant at having a rematch in the future, and then had to hastily leave when she realized that Solaire had apparently packed up and moved on during the day she was still out cold. He was certainly an odd one, and definitely one that loved to keep on moving about.

You were actually more worried about Valentia than him, though. He seemed like he'd be able to handle anything his way despite his advanced age. But, well, it wasn't really your problem now.

What was your problem, though, was the decision of where to go next. You stare at the map rolled out before you. It wasn't too helpful, only marking locations of known cities and towns on the Frontier, with large blank spaces in between. However, you did need to choose a destination to keep your party moving. If you couldn't find a suitable quest, well, then you might as well head back to Eisenwand.

Well, there was that ruin Solaire mentioned, which he had helpfully marked on your map. However, you weren't sure if your party was ready yet. Everybody was capable, yes, but working together in enemy territory for an unknown but prolonged period of time? You weren't so sure.

Or you could try a relatively milder quest. Apparently there were bandits lurking the roads around Aldenshire, and not just the regular petty thieves and highwaymen, but well armed and well trained thugs who were robbing even experienced adventurers blind. The Guild was offering quite a sizeable bounty for their elimination.

As a reminder, the world uses a calendar based on the classic eastern states of matter (not elements, that's a translation problem that people just went with because of the classical greek elements, ok?). Meaning Fire -> Earth -> Metal -> Water -> Wood and then Fire again.

This ends in 10 months of around 35 to 37 days each, starting with the month of "Rising Fire" followed by "Setting Fire" followed by "Rising Earth" ... etc

Some countries give the months different names, but that's the standard, so we're going with that ok?

***

The Battle of Roaring Waves and Dancing Clouds, as it became known to Imperial historians later on, was a clash between state-of-the-art fleets from what at the times were the still divided East and West halves of the Heavenly Empire.

The Western, or as it is now know, the 'Classical' Empire, had recently embraced the at-the-time brand new rockitship technology, and built a series of ships designed for pirate hunting, troop and supply transport, as well as bombing, aiming for the [ERROR]s as their enemies.

As such, the ships were designed with a reinforced lower and lateral hull, as well as a shield of magical force which could be redirected at will towards the enemy.

Their weaponry was meant for wide area bombardment, spreading lightning bolts down towards the enemy, wether it was a pirate ship on the sea bellow, or a swarm of otherwordly [ERROR]s.

They were faster than any conventional ships, with the added flexibility of being able to fly over land and their hulls had been redesigned with a 3-layer system that made them all but impervious to the cannon fire of the age.

The cannon fire preferred by pirates typically went through the soft but water-resiliant wood used in ships of the age, but found the middle layer of hard wood impossible to go through, making the imperial rockitships basically immune to cannon fire.

Thus, the imperial fleet was a complete nightmare for pirates and land-bound monsters, as it could hurl masses of lightning from above, while being immune to cannons or any other classical proyectile that would come their way.

As an added measure of precaution, however, they also had a magical forcefield that could be directed towards any perceived threats.

This is not to say that they were invincible, though, for one needs to understand that the Heavenly Empress at the time had began what we known today as The Age of Enlightenment, and as such, schools, universities, roads, centers of study and trade, urbanization projects, as well as reforms on nearly all facets of life were going on at the same time, and as such, many of them had to suffer what was perceived as rational budget cuts.

The imperial fleet ships, therefore, had a standard soft wood deck that was perfectly normal for ships of the age. The rationale being, that they would only ever face fire from bellow, and thus there was no need for the expensive three-layered reinforced structure that the hull of the ship had.

Furthermore, while its lightning-caster guns could hurl lightning down from almost any height, the ships themselves had no special equipment or life support, meaning that while the ships themselves could rise to any height, as modern rockitships can, the crew and passengers would have to face oxygen deprivation as well as intense cold and atmosphere thinning the higher they went.

This meant that while fast and maneuverable, they couldn't realistically rise too far from ground level, and their lightning-casters had a rather poor performance when it came to horizontal range, forcing the ships to fly directly overhead of any targets before they could launch a barrage of wide-area lightning bolts.

They were also weak to plunging fire, their soft decks no more resistant to attacks than any solid wooden house would be.

Furthermore, they had neither radar nor any countermeasures for it, and were limited only to what Navy staff gently call "Passive Sensors", which is a kind way to refer to the "Eyes and Ears" of the crew on board.

As if their technical limiations weren't enough, they were also limited in size, as the Empire was an unnofficial member of the east continent Protectorate Alliance, which limited the size of new ships, other than for a single capital ship per member nation.

On the other hand, the easter half of the Empire, the former colonies known at the time as the Alquian Empire, had a very small but completely modern fleet with iron hulls, radar, anti-air batteries, 31" main guns, range finders, with this word's first diesel engines, capable of propelling each ship at speeds far beyond those of any previously seen vessels on the sea.

Their prototype fleet had been designed specifically to target other ships on the sea surface, as well as to bombard coastal fortresses and cities from extreme range, and held one flagship and two destroyers.

Data suggests that this modern (if small) fleet was out at sea on a test run for its equipment and guns, when their radar picked up the massive western Imperial Fleet approaching, some 15 miles away.

And so it was that at the turn of the millenia, 15th of Setting Fire, 19.998 of the imperial calendar, both fleets meet their destiny, as magic and science collided against one another head on, with the modern-but-small eastern fleet being the first to spot its counterpart.

You didn't used to be on top but now you are. They year is 2019, one year into the Great War and your 19th birthday. You think to yourself, clutching to your helmet:
>What are we heading into?
>Where will I be in a year?
>I don't want to die today
>Do my comrades judge me for being a femanon?
>Are we winning?
You open your eyes to see you are in a ural, surrounded by your fellow soldiers. You readjust your Stahlhelm on your head and inspect your rifle, preparing to go into the dead zone, where the Chads control the land under a totalitarian regime. A regime you wish to see topple.
The person next to you passes you a cigarette. Apparently after three missions, you still get freaked out beyond the regular amount. Your hands are shaking as if you just drank several energy drinks, so much so it's hard to reach for the lighter.
"Here you go, don't worry, I've been through 19 missions and have 130 confirmed kills, cigarettes help me when I need them." He says as he flicks out his lighter and flicks it away within two seconds.
You take a breath of the cigarette, however, you cough it out. Death sticks aren't your gig.
The Truck all of a sudden is hit with an RPG in the front, blowing you into the second floor of a building.

The blast, which has singed your left pant leg and your left arm of your shirt, threw you into the second floor. Fortunately for you, you landed on that side, stamping out the fire. Unfortunately for you, you've been knocked unconscious.
You wake up on the floor of the bombed out office five minutes later, facing the now smoldering truck you were in. Your fellow infantry scream in pain as they crawl out of the wreckage on fire. You get ready to move, but that's when you see it. Two Brads and a Chad march down the street, Chad wearing an officer's SnapBack. They march around the truck, shooting or stabbing any survivors.
You reach for your carbine, only to realize your bag full of supplies and extra clothes has been thrown across the way to the other side of the road, where it hangs from an iron rod, along with your rifle. You check your holster, and thank God you still have your P99 and your knife.
How do you get the backpack?
>Take out Enemies with pistol,
>wait
>Surrender
>Stealth your way to the bag

You are also playing as Charlemagne, and you've been doing a bit to fufill your personal agenda while trying to rule...

Anyways, it seems the communists got taken care of, and Sweden seems to be prospering again...

A few things have transpired sicne the battle however.

The irrelivancy of mass charges and melee have become transparent to the officer Corp, and they've decided to revitilize themselves and innovate...

Choose an advanced army doctrine.

Manpower: 4 Million (1 Million in the army.)

Your army costs you about 50$ Million in income per year.
Your current income (after army and everything else): 300$ Million per year, roughly.

>Mass Infantry. (WW2.) (Your manpower goes up to 7 Million and your conscription laws become much more updated, along with you drafting from closer countries. The cost of your army is also reduced by half. Armor becomes a bit more expensive.)
>Blitzkrieg. (WW2) (Your army will become fully mobilized with trucks allowing for much faster movement, and armor cost will be reduced by half. Doubles the cost of your army however, and your men are forced to have lighter Anti-Tank guns and lighter Anti-Air. Armored Tanks cost is reduced by half, and are much more effective.)
>Specialist Corps (WW2) (Your army attempts to make your men "elite" rather then "grunts". Triples the cost of the army, but your entire army becomes much more effective but take much longer to train.)

You survived the encounter with the security android but woke up covered in ice in the emergency room.

There were instructions written on the wall that lead you to the android from before. Claire had taken the medical magnetic lift to rescue Glen, but returned for you after you used the android to speak with her.

You decided to name the android Jinx, based off its serial designation code.

You rode in the back of the lift with Glen and Jinx, and made it safely to The Firm.

Once at The Firm, you used your medical insurance to get your injuries fixed with bionic implants. Your shoulder join was replaced with an artificial join that also serves as a small magnetic shield. Your broken rib was replaced with a false rib that pumps oxygenators into your bloodstream when needed.

After surgery you met with Hendrik, your boss, and decided to give him the full truth. He helped you solve your problems. You sold the med lift to a chop shop for a tidy sum. But more importantly, company protocols provided an outlet for you to keep Jinx.

You had the android’s core components transferred from a security shell body into a commerce shell body with sensor shielding, making it read as a perfectly normal to all but the most powerful scanners.

You decided to change up the appearance as well, the new body being female with a white porcelain mask for a face. You even gave it short black hair, to the eventual scorn of Claire.

You accepted a job from Hendrik to get back into action and make some profits. Your job was to head to the capital building where there were frantic attempts at raising funds for a military reprisal on Utopia. The profit to be made there was immense.

You met Claire outside Hendrik’s office and the two of you went to see Glen. A promise is a promise, so you ordered Glen a high spec prosthetic arm with fine motor skills control and retractable self-cleaning blades.

The seed of Claire’s jealousy against Jinx were planted as she sees what you’ve done to her android.

The two of you made your way to the hanger you arrived in. There a rental vehicle was waiting for you, along with clothing, and weapons galore.

A temporary promotion to head of accounting was granted to you for this job, with vague promises of keeping the promotion on success of the job.

You selected a baton, a huge revolver, and a machine-pistol to arm yourself with, and head out with Claire and Jinx on your first ever trip to the capital building.

The ride went smoothly, and you docked at the physical capital floor. Your company payed 10,000 physical-credits as an entrance fee, and you entered the building.

The inside of the building was chaos, and you quickly entangled yourself in the mess. You ordered Jinx to defend you and her first act while doing so was to kick away a grenade that was lobbed at your position.

Unfortunately, this brought down the security androids on your group, and you barely escaped their wrath as they became distracted by military grade weapon fire.

Things began to look up as you had gathered a following of fellow people with an amplifier implant, and their groups. You breezed through two fights and managed twenty people following you at the height of your leadership.

It didn’t last though as an ambush cut your numbers in half.

Your group was stopped by a mysterious person in power armor who required a ten thousand finance-credit payment to let you pass. You bargained them down to eight thousand, but to your dismay they killed two more of your group to make up the difference of the bargain.

The remainder of your group made it to an elevator, but you personally found no safety there.

Upset at your bargaining, and at running them into an ambush, rather than join you as you wished they would, they instead viciously beat you. You’re left on the floor of an elevator.

Claire offers to help you up but you decide to wait a moment on the floor. She looks at you concerned. “Are you going to be alright?”

“I’ll live, please bring the elevator up one more floor for me.” You take out your bottle of painkillers and take two.

“You didn’t break anything, did you?”

Claire helps you to your feet and you can’t help but sigh. “Where did it all go so wrong?”

“I don’t know, they just joined us, used us, and left. Jinx, run a scan on Mike to check for internal bleeding.” Jinx’s eyes glow purple and you feel a very slight tingling pass over you.

“This one has found none.”

Your hurt, both physically and emotionally, but you won’t die.

The elevator arrives on the third floor of the physical capital complex and you let it open. You all exit the small space and appraise your surroundings. “It’s much quieter here.” Claire seems to approve.

Room in you are now in is empty aside from yourself. Ashtrays line the walls next to plush armchair seating. You see two exits, a hallway curving upwards and going out of sight after some distance, and a much larger pair of doors.

You’re trying to decide which way to go when the large doors seem to register your presence and open. The doors are tall, unnecessarily tall, in the range of thirty feet. They’re reinforced, at least two feet thick.

“Guess we go that way.”

“Seems welcoming.” You try to stay optimistic.

Inside the room you find it to be civilized, even if it is civility at the point of a gun. Peacemakers in body armor line the walls, all of them wield stuncasters. You hadn’t heard they had returned.

The room is filled with chairs, and organized with a podium at the front.

A peacemaker stops you asking politely for your credentials. “Sir, I need to see identification.” You pull out the card Hendrik gave you which says you are head of accounting for The Firm and he scans it with his visor. “Sorry for the inconvenience sir, can I help you in any way.”

High profile looking characters stand and chat, the next scheduled speaker won’t be for an hour.

>I’m here to give a patriotic speech regarding the city on behalf of my employer. (Persuasion)
>I’m here to speak about what The Firm can do to help, it may just save your life. (Intimidation)
>I’m here to speak about the sacrifices made by peacers like you and the importance of funding. (Flatter)
>I’m here to mingle with possible clients.

>>I’m here to mingle with possible clients.
Let's go with the option that's the least likely to have us beaten.

Again.

Welcome to Another Dragon Ball Quest ™ , a quest all about a young kid in the world of Dragon Ball and their involvement in many of the series iconic events. From Radditz to Beerus, there's no telling how far you'll go, or at least how long you can last till you get sent to another dimension!
>How do we play?
This quest functions like any other, options on what to do are brought up, using A,B,C,D, etc, and everyone of YOU votes on what you'd like the character to do. Write-In's are encouraged!
Also, we will be using a system I've seen SOM(Another great DBZ Quest Maker) use recently. For easy tasks, such as fighting normal humans or doing mundane chores, you'll roll a d20, for normal tasks such as fighting opponents who are of equal or slightly higher strength, or trying to pull off more difficult moves, you'll roll a d50, and for hard tasks, like fighting people who are much stronger than you, or fighting multiple opponents at once that have an equal strength to you, you'll roll a d100.
>Do you use Bo3 or Bo5?
Neither, I find that Best of 3 is too cruel sometimes, and that Best of 5 is too lenient. So we'll be doing a Best of 4. That means the first 4 rolls are the only ones that count, and that the highest number rolled will be the one used.
>So what kind of character will we be able to make?
You'll be playing as a young, non-human child around the same age as Gohan was at the beginning of DBZ.
>Wait, we don't get to decide if we want to play a regular human or a dog president?
Not exactly, while you'll be deciding some backstory traits and how you'll be starting this adventure off, I've realized that my limitations as a QM mean I have a hard time working with a completely group created character, so think of this as me throwing you a template that you can mess around with.
>How do we get stronger? We have to fight Raditz one on one with our eyes closed!
Increasing your Power Level is simple. Every once and a while I'll have you roll a d50, and the higher you roll the higher your power increases. For instance, rolling a 1-9 means you only increased your power by ten, while rolling a 40-49 means you increased your power by 80, and a solid 50 woul've increased it by 160. So basically it doubles each tier.
>Are we a boy or a girl?
Your decision. Though that decision won't come up right away. Figured this would be a fun little thing that people could discuss as the story goes along.
>Are you sticking completely to cannon or can we change things?
Your actions affect the world, who's the say whether or not Vegeta leaves Earth alive like in the manga, or if Chaouzu ends up the strongest Earthling. Anything can happen.

Hello again fellow creators of /qst/. After a well deserved pause, I'm here again to continue our journey into the Regional Evolution of our Moon Worlds. We will be visiting Region 3 of Rienia for this thread.

As GM, I'll do my best to actively work on phylogeny charts to track the evolutions, and also make random events for the world to drive evolution down new paths. Since this is the first time I've done EvoGames focused in a Regional perspective I'll be experimenting with how I approach these threads for better viability later on. Also we will be exploring the ocean habitats of both Janus and Rienia in the next threads.

How to play:
• Open an image of a species in MS Paint, or your editor of choice
• Make one evolutionary change to that species
• Save as .PNG!
• Post your new species in the thread with a description of what evolution you've added and why.
• Details indicating what the generation of your species is important. Please indicate. (Base Organisms are Generation 0)
• Details regarding a creatures size or name are encouraged, but not required.
• Nothing too outlandish. Anything silly or derailing will not be considered a canon species 95% of the time.

Notes:
• Unless stated explicitly, no species ever goes extinct. Old species can still evolve, even if they're not on the latest "chain"
• Try to make your evolutions gradual and realistic in biological standards.
• Everyday I'll add an update Phylogeny Chart to track changes. These take awhile, so please be patient.
• Expect a Random World Event at least once per thread to shake up the world and game.
• There will be no Mass Extinction Event in the near future, so enjoy building and evolving to your hearts content.
• When this thread reaches its endpoint, we will be switching over to the oceans of Moon World Janus next thread.
• Have fun

New to the Game?:
• Don't be shy. If you have an idea for an organism and want to spend the time making it, please by all means do so.
• We also have a Discord to keep you up to date on EvoGame activities, and chat with other folks and myself. https://discord.gg/kk8eJgJ
• Work on an Imgur Gallery to track evolution and provide up-to-date info on each world is still on-going. It will be posted soon. (I hope)
• There is a Blank Template that you can use to make any organisms you wish to make for this game below.
• Just a note, while it doesn't matter how intertwined your organism is with the rest of ecosystem, the more dependent it is on the existence of other creatures, the more potential your organism has to survive.

The Description of the present Rienia, Setting, and, and more will be posted in supplementary posts.

Present Setting: As Rienia enters the Late Magedivatian Era, another tectonic shift shakes up the flow of life on the Moon. This latest shift in Rienia's tectonic plates has helped to fully establish the global thermohaline circulation of the world's oceans. As a result, the planet begins warming a solid 2°C releasing much of the land and sea from the cold grips of the ancient ice age of the Sulioaic Era. In the case of Region 3, one particular plant organism, the Rustree found the nutrients and the makeup of the soils for the landmasses of this region to be perfect for the plant to flourish in. Huge swathes of Rustree forests blanket the landmasses, where the soils are most fertile, and climate most beneficiary. Organisms here have quickly adapted to life under the reddish canopies. Elsewhere, close to poles, the tundras of this region have begun to surge in life as hardy, pioneering organisms take their first steps into the frozen, dry tundras.

Blank Template will be on the last post I make. Attached here is Dossier for all the Organisms of Region 1. Should tell you everything you need to know about each organism.

--Organism Advancement--
> Plant Organisms may be as large as the size 14 increment as stated here
> Terrestrial Plant Organisms may be no larger than size 11 unless they have a means to overcome the heavy gravity.
> Animal Organisms may be as large as the size 13
> Terrestrial Animal Organisms may be no larger than size 10 unless they have a means to overcome the heavy gravity.
> Carbon-based nutrients/minerals, along with Silicates, Calcium, Iron, Zinc, Selenium, and Organic Compounds are now present in the environment and may be incorporated into an organisms diet/evolution if desired.

--Regional Evolution Rules--
> If necessary, specify which landmass/geographic area an organism exists in. (This is heavily encouraged, but not a requirement).
> Marine and Aquatic Organisms may only exist in the either the Freshwater Basin, or the Shallow Seas/Coastline
> Organisms from the Shallow Seas/Coastline are the only organisms that can freely travel throughout the region and to other regions. (This must be specified in your evolution post)
> Aquatic and Terrestrial Organisms from the Freshwater Basin and/or the Fertile Lowlands/Rustree Forests may only travel between neighboring landmasses (Interconnections of landmasses can be found below).
> Only organisms from the Shallow Seas/Costline and the Fertile Lowlands/Rustree Forests may migrate to the Glacial Tundra
> An evolution that impacts the same organism throughout the whole region is allowed, but must be specified in your post.
> If you as a creator wish to establish the existence of a new ecosystem, feel free to specify this and post what organisms would belong in this new ecosystem.

--Landmasses & Interconnections--
> Knodge is interconnected with Island 9 and Redger
> Eamoht Isles is interconnected with only Island 9
> Isles 5 is interconnected with Redger and Yurdlad Island
> Theac and Noume Island are interconnected

--Additional/Misc. Stuff--
> The following geographic locations still need names. Feel free to give them a name at your leisure. The Region may also be named but should be unanimously agreed on.
Isles 5
Island 9
Gulf 4
Gulf 5
Gulf 6
Gulf 7
Lake 6

> This is a one-man job I've been doing here for the most part. If you think and/or want to provide me with resources to help improve the quality of information we have for the worlds (Food Webs, Trophic Levels, Mapping of individual Landmasses, Etc.) this would be welcomed and greatly appreciated.
> Fanart is also accepted, and low-key encouraged.
>>
And last but not least. Here is the Blank Organisms Template. That's it I'm finished spamming the opening thread.

Enjoy the thread fellow creators, and I'll have the first Phylogeny Chart up in a couple days.

Welcome to Tribes Evo, a game where you take control of a tribe and evolve it culturally, technologically, and historically through time. Currently, a new tribe is introduced, two tribes became nations, and war is brewing, along with doubt on my qming abilities

Previous Threads (please read if new): http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=tribevo
Discord: https://discord.gg/r36b7By
Art: http://imgur.com/a/2mlai

POTT: http://www.strawpoll.me/13085030

New Players Guide:
>Every turn is a new day
>Every turn each tribe can do one action and research
>Research - Laws, Technologies, Arts, Customs
>Action - Trading, Hunting, Scouting, Organizing
>At least one player per tribe, no upper limit on tribe members
> Only ONE action and ONE research PER TRIBE, must be agreed by majority
> Please read sheet to verify 1) whether a tech/culture has already been researched and 2) whether OP fucked up in updating sheets

Other Mechanics:
> Combat (NPC) - one commander per tribe, roll xd100 where x is the number of GROUPS of units you wish to fight (ask oldfag or OP if unclear)
> Culture - After exposure to other cultures, rolls can be made to determine how foreign cultures can affect your civilization's society
> Nationhood - Once a tribe reaches 1000+ population, they are eleigible for nationhood. They will then need a constitution, flag, currency, formal military, and more than one town. The constitution MUST include established geographic borders, name of your state, and governing body.
> Economy - One a civ implements a tax, there will be a stream of income to your treasury. You will be able to purchase additional actions with this income. Too high a tax, however, will affect mood.

Additional changes:
> I had previously had mining actions as another version of a scouting action, as in real life one does not extract the same ore vein continuously like one would do with logs. Player complaint has led to change this so that everyone at mines will get a stream of some ore.
> War is emminent. Declaring war will cost an action along with a troop movement/tactic, and a -2 mood debuff.
> To repeat, actions are meant to be one time for the turn and not ongoing, unless you use it to enforce a law, which in that case the effects will be ongoing.
> Please reply to this post if you think I should redo last turn for whatever reason. Call me whatever, but I'd rather not be called unbiased.

Yes, redo the turn.
Also war moves should be done on the thread if it's direct combat

Otherwise it should be dms to prevent metagame (like the entirety of the ducks last proposed turn)

It's a been a while my friends, so lets start over.
>The events of this quest take place near the beginning of XCOM II

You shift and turn uncomfortably in your bed before sitting up, the heat from the sheets and morning summer sun leaves you sweaty and disheveled looking. You sigh and swing your feet out before heading to the bathroom and popping a pain reliever. You grab a towel and hop in the shower letting warm water flow off of you. After a fee minutes you hop out and dry off before wrapping the towel around your waist and walking out to the kitchen.

A small beep and you know your coffee is ready, you pour a hot cup and get ready to sip before a shrill rapid beeping shocks you into almost dropping your mug. You jog back to the bedroom and grab your phone and look at the alert, who's it from?

You wake up in your quarters, aboard the Brora, images of a jagged island dancing in your head and fading quickly. You rise shakily to your feet, leaning against the hull for support. You cannot shake the feeling of passed time...

You are Commander Reynolr of the Citadel Empire, proud captain of the CAS Brora (PS-4-917), an armed trawler based in the wretched Kraegsk Archipelago. Your presence here is tied to the nature of the storm-ravaged Kraegsk - north of resource-rich islands and a major naval warzone, the floating wrecks of great warships are carried by the currents to smash against the jagged coasts of the Kraegsk. You are to recover Citadel personnel from wrecks, protect salvage ships, and ensure that the enemy Republic and its craven mercenaries does not gain control of the Kraegsk from their own naval base, at the opposite end of the archipelago. Every month, a convoy of cargo ships picks up scrap that cannot be used or embezzled by the forces of the Kraegsk and takes it back to the naval yards of your homeland - loss of these ships is unacceptable.

Before the Citadel-Republic war, the Kraegsk was inhabited by a series of destitute fishing communities living in the shadow of the ruins of the old Astaeran Empire. Now they are forced into the service of the belligerents, powerless to resist the meager forces allocated to the Kraegsk.

You are on the Brora. Aren't you supposed to be somewhere else?

Everything seems quite normal. The engines of the Brora can be felt through the deck, the constant hum of machinery a familiar ambiance. Someone knocks on the bulkhead, calling for you. The voice... McKenna. That's what the voice is.

"Sir? You moving in there?" McKenna's voice comes again, somewhat muffled.

You are Gneotho: Overlord-in-training of the Underworld known as Potential X. You have been standing here waiting at the Rosen Queen Item Stall for what seems likes months while waiting for the manager. You have exhausted all small talk with the demon known as Tim who is standing awkwardly behind the counter. You have been looking over the items for a while and occasionally breaking the fourth wall to glance at the menu and view your Hel. Tim has asked to keep that to a minimum due to the migraines and nosebleeds it generates for him and other in the vicinity. You think to argue back that maybe they should work on achieving Main Character statuses so it doesn't hurt them, but you realize that such a salty retort would probably label you a bad customer and sour your upcoming deal.

>>Remedy your boredom by recounting your previous actions some more.

A small reminder of what happened before would be nice. After all its been months since the last adventure
>>
>>1521881
To pass the time, you think back even further. You recount how, after reading about the death of Overlord Ghraanus, you and several other demons raced to the Palace (now your palace) and signed up for the Potential X Potential Overlord Tournament. The Seneschal Brynn had arranged the tournament and, to even the playing field for all contestants, everyone would be reincarnated to unlock their 'hidden potential.' What really happened however, was that Brynn was scheming to finally take over the thrown himself using the STOLEN potential of the demons who used his rigged reincarnation machine. Those who lost the tourney were teleported into the dungeons for torture/further energy draining.

You were randomly reincarnated into an Armor Knight and a buxom female demon. You didn't really think much of it since demons are reincarnated into whatever gender and class suits their purposes. You are pretty sure you were male before, but it doesn't matter now.

As all demons do, you schemed to tip the odds in your favor by recruiting allies within the tourney. Though, really you just boosted the plan your first ally, Anasael, the Healer, had hatched. You were better equipped to actually see it through, so after a little bit of questionable physical and emotional domination, you convinced her to help you. Second on your roster of conspirators was Kain. Another former male demon forced into a female body, she is less comfortable with her form. You have taken it upon yourself to ease her into the idea of being a girl. She currently states she will challenge you for the throne once she has regained her former power.

Last on you team was Mystery Person 14. A mercenary soldier reincarnated into the powerful Dark Knight class. Secretly, MP14 is a school kid who snuck away from school with his friends to battle in the tournament.

With the four of you, you challenged Brynn and his allies after the quarterfinals and defeated them with style. In the process you found within yourself the power of an Overlord and unlocked your Overload Skill, which boosts your power for a short time, though reverts you to looking like a small girl.

With the former General of Potential X's armies (And Mystery Person's mother) Weth tutoring you, you are poised to start solidifying your new regime of Terror and Anguish!*

*Levels of terror and anguish might vary

Oh... and you picked some other servants along the way to boost your army. You don't feel like they are very important yet, so you don't feel like covering their backstories so far.

>That was a good recap, you think to yourself.

>Oh look, the manager is here now!
>Maybe I should buy something... (1350 Hel)

Good Morning, Afternoon, and Evening to all Anons from all over the world (Even Africa).

As promised, here is the continuation of Chapter 1 of "From Ashes to Gold" in thread 2.

You are Xavier Lewis, a doctor from Chicago who witnessed firsthand the fall of civilization, managed to escape with his longtime best friend Peyton and a new friend and Hell's Angels member, Andrew. They managed to load up on guns and ammo, as well as numerous survival and camping equipment. Oh yeah, Xavier also killed in cold blood. Now, Xavier and friends have found a small and relatively unaffected town in Illinois to not only survive, but thrive.

The construction scavenging team returned with quite the bounty, suffice to say. They found Chainlink fence, the posts for it, and plenty of concrete mix. Abraham was ecstatic and ordered them to get to work as soon as they got out of Quarantine, all 8 of them. “I am just being safe” is what he called it, but if we wants more than one team of scavengers to go out, he’ll need to give you more supplies. However, what he wasn’t ecstatic about was how the Food Scavenger team was 5 hours late, then 8 hours, then full 12 hours.

Abraham cursed like a sailor at about 5 in the morning, after he realized they weren’t coming back. That leaves us with about 2 weeks of food if everyone has a meal 3 times a day. It certainly isn’t starvation time, but it’s not good to cut it close. You wake up on another beautiful Illinois morning and walk out of the house that has been given to you, Andrew and Peyton, who has been busy working with Peggy to heal the miscellaneous cuts and bruises that have appeared. Of course, that’s also another problem. Your supply of medicine is running out fairly quickly and within the next week you would need to go on a supply run so you have a surplus to go to in case a large medical emergency arises.

You don’t have anything to do exactly right now, so you could go talk to Andrew, find the General, explore, or go bring up an issue with Abraham. You also heard that Abraham needs people for some more scouting missions.

There is a deathly silence. The only sounds that pierce it are your own organs functioning, the slight trickle of water somewhere deeper into the crypt, and the slow burn of the cigarette in the skeleton's mouth.
You are Smith 'Bones' Port, and you feel a slight irony from this situation. Your given nickname may be 'bones', but coming face to face with one, you realize that you don't fit it, at all.

The skeleton takes a long, deep draft from the cigarette between its teeth, yet it doesn't seem to run out. Funnily enough, smoke starts to rise from its eyelids. You take note that bones shouldn't smoke. Its head starts to turn, and not once does it look at you directly. For now you conclude that the skeleton must be blind.

You breath a sigh of relief, which turns to dismay as its head immediately jolts at your general attention. "I know you're there, ja."
It talks, yet, you don't see its mouth move, nor does it sound it's coming from anywhere near the skeleton. Wait. Why does this skeleton have that weird German Accent?

"Vho are you? Vhat are you doing here?" It points a finger at your general direction. On it a single lightly glowing ring inlaid with amber. The ring is eerily familiar.
Your mind starts to wrack your memories. You distinctly remember a warm, fuzzy feeling. You feel accepted. You feel love, and you remember something.

But then, your train of thought is disturbed by the glowing mark on your left hand.
It glows brightly, first the light scatters to all directions, but then it converges to a point above the skeleton, almost like its being funneled by something.
And as fast as it appears, it dims, leaving behind string of words that hover above the skeleton.

Being: <Skeleton>

Name: F̱͌͑́̚ŗ̴̬̮̬̯̐e̴̶͍̹̠̥̗̒ͨͤ́ḓ̣̙ͣ͐͐ͨ̒̚͡r̶̖͆͢i̶̴̹͙͔̞͒k̨̛̬̫̥̮͈̪̓͑͐̋

Marks: None

Coins: One

Weapons: Madame Marielle's Ring of Power, Shoots bolts of energy. [Danger.]

You gape in awe. You have no idea how, or why that happened. You look at the mark on your hand, the image of the mask now slightly more pronounced. You shake your arm around. Nothing happens. You poke and pull on the mark. The same reaction. Nothing.
But something shakes you from your awe. You look up to see a humming bolt of light, flying toward you at high speeds.

Fuck.

What do you do?

>Roll to cover, it's the practical choice. Gives you time to think.
>Block it with your marked hand, maybe that will make it glow again.
>Quickly draw and shoot your revolver, you aren't sure if that will work. At all.
>Stand there like a deer caught in the headlights.
