Oh come on man. Can't you just Google this and get an answer faster without starting a whole thread? You come to this place, shit up the board with your blatant laziness, and worst of all, you don't even post any pictures of doggo. Such a disappointment.

European Starling. It is an introduced, invasive species in the Americas. They can kill and displace native cavity nesting birds such as Purple Martins and Bluebirds. They are known to destroy the eggs as well as kill both juveniles and adults of competing bird species.

Do you guys know of a full length zipper (around foot box), 750+ down fill, double zippered (to leave footbox open but seal the rest like a burrito) mummy bags?

I really like the EE Revelation, but I like the idea of having a hood, not a helmet. Pic related.

Sup /b/. I'm in between apartments in a city where I know nobody. I'll be homeless for about a month before I can move back 3 states away. I am very much stuck here though for the time being, so I wanna know about things like where to sleep, what and where to eat, where I can hang out during the day with WiFi etc.

Any tips on being homeless?

anyone here from Orange, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara or LA counties?

I'm looking for suggestions on a long distance trail in the Angeles, SB and Los Padres national forests. Has anyone paid a vist to the condor trail?

Im looking to had off for 3-4 days. thanks guys

Condor trail? You mean that one that's not even complete yet, with miles of bushwhacking?

There's the Silver Moccasin trail in the San Gabs, it's part of the PCT. Also the Backbone Trail in the Santa Monica mountains (not to be confused with Devil's backbone on Baldy or North Backbone).
>>
Mt. Baldy loop, 3 Ts, and Cucamonga peak are all fantastic day hikes. San G will take about 8-10 hours. San Jacinto is also a great day hike. If you're feeling up to you, do the 3 peaks challenge, Mt. Baldy, San G, and San Jacinto in one day.

I went to the Arcadia district office to ask about this one, but the volunteer there claimed to not know anything about it, denied its existence, and was generally super not-helpful

where did you start, Chantry flats? did you end at Vincent Gap near wrightwood?

whats the water situation?

just checked it out. where did you start for this one?

A smokey fire will keep flying pests away because they don't like to breath smoke.

It won't do shit to keep ticks and crawling pests away.

How much of our supermarket food is actually still fertile? I know Monsanto seed grow only once, any fruit grown from it will not germinate. But is that all industrial fruit and veggies, or just part? Is all industrial seed infertile? Do I have to go to a farmer's market to find seeds that will keep growing for generations to come? Or are farmer's markets just the same industrial production?

Fishing is the main priority. Long needlenose priors for getting them hooks.

But something great for everything else. Heard great things about the Leatherman Wave, but would love other suggestions.

I had the Supertool C300 and C300 EOD, but the wave is still my fav'. To me what makes it btter are the blades that you can open one handed.

Oh and there's this black version that look so fucking badass too.
Oh and it's (more or less) cheap too, which is always nice.

Oh and last but not least, it's a Leatherman.

Sup, /out/, I need some help.

I'm taking a girl out on our first date(my first ever) and we're gonna go fishing on friday. I know she likes fishing, but I've not fished since I was a kid. I already bought a rod and picked out a nice place at the local state park. I know how to fish, as far as putting bait on the hook and actually catching one, but other than that I'm going in completely blind. All I have is a rod with some line in it(I don't think it even came with a hook). I'm also planning on bringing a cooler so we can have a little picnic. Basically I'm asking for any advice you guys can possibly give me; what to bring, what I still need to go buy, when to go, etc. I really like this girl and want everything to go well, but I'm scared that I'm gonna bomb the whole thing.

one theres no need to really bump on /out/ unless youre on page 6 or below, two just take it easy being anxious about it wont help, it will only make things worse, just take it easy, so what if ou dont catch anything, as long as you havent told her youre an expert its no big deal maybe she will teach you some shit
>>
>>719240
Just be honest about how little you know, and make some jokes at your expense if you screw up. Nothing is worse than someone who pretends to be something they are not e.g. a good fisherman

Bug Out Bags

Anything I seem to be missing?
I have a get home bag which only contains essentials but could be made to stretch for about a week and a half. main issue I found when trying to camp with just my bag is usually issues with water. Being able to purify it at least 3 different ways is a necessity. and dont expect to be remotely comfortable if you dont have a bottle that holds a decent amount of liquid. having to go back to your water source every hour or so is a pain in the ass.

You don't need more stuff, you need less.
>>
I'll bite.

You don't need a limb saw and the chain saw. Your rain poncho could be incorporated into your shelter to cut down on the supplies needed for shelter. A USB fan? No, ask me how I know this thread is bait. You don't need a one way radio if your 2 way will cover the same bands. You don't need an extra roll of cordage.

2 much stuff/10

If you're really that attached to this stuff, go cache it at your bug out location.

No gun. No firestarter. No knife.
