Can somebody tell me where's the fun on drag racing? I feel it's stupid and qutie boring to be honest.
Not to count that most of drag races are done by stupid cunts that think that their riced Focus will be faster than your shitbox
Do you know what bracket racing is, OP? I find it neat. It's a out being as consistent as possible, which is actually a huge challenge with a manual.

Drag cars are so barebones you get the ultimate unadultered experience of the vehicle. The combination with the large g forces on launch with the smell of tire smoke and the engine screaming, unfiltered from the restrictions of resonators and catalytic converters is intoxicating. It's also really easy and cheap to get into
>t. have never drag raced
1/8 miles are boring but quarters are great
Am I fucked guys?
>>17506645
Well they seemed to tell you in their description. Your head gaskets might be leaking
Royal Purple is a meme.
You need to address that coolant contamination ASAP. Lead/copper may be via severe bearing wear. Is there any coolant loss/consumption?
>>17506645
>1500 miles
>those numbers
>royal purple
looks like you need to replace your head gasket and start using something like Mobil 1 or Pennzoil Platinum instead... how the hell can you afford to keep throwing royal purple at it with those tiny intervals?
I haven't seen any discussion on here about this car, im thinking about getting the awd ti. Should I not?
>>17505953
>I haven't seen any discussion on here about this car,
You can royally go fuck yourself.
There was a cancerous amount of discussion on it before mods permabanned alphonse.
What car is this
>le All Germans are Perfect Drivers meme
https://youtu.be/P190mnCUr5E
>>17505800
Who even said this (aside from gerries?).
Only worse drivers than Germans are French.
>30m gap between cars on right lane on highway
>Car merging in from entrance, driving a bit in front of last car
>If it's a dutchie, he/she accelerates and merges at a good distance
>If it's a gerrie, he/she slams the breaks and merges behind the car with 50km/h. Car behind that one has to break / evade
Seriously, it's as if "giving gas" is a forbidden phrase in Germany
Some of these aren't Germans though...
>>17505800
i live only a couple kilometers from germany and german drivers have to be some of the worst
like so bad whenever somebody does something stupid in traffic and it's not a german you're genuinely surprised
the only nationalities that i know are worse at driving are italians and brits, i might be biased about the brits though since i had the feeling of looking into a mirror for the whole time i was there
Why don't more basement engineers design cars and start their own car companies?
Why is the domestic car market stagnant and devoid of competition?
>>17505750
Capital. If you mean the mass market. You literally need to be Elon Musk to attract enough investment to build cars
There are however plenty of small companies making track cars
>>17505768
its probably a little easier to start a motorbike company but look at Erik buell. hes as smart as Elon Musk but i dont know....
>>17505750
Think of the R&D budget needed to design a car from the ground up? Mommys pocket money aint going to cut it unless you're part of the walton family.
Been looking at picking up an unrepaired UAZ 469 off mortar investments, as a general use/offroading/ European fun time kind of vehicle
Im military stationed in germany, so id be able to have them ship it with me wherever i go next, and i have full access to an auto hobby shop with whatever tools i need to make repairs, i figure it would be a fun project car. or for about another 3k, (total of 5000) euro or so they do a complete rebuild and can customize it as i wish
Looking at gas miliage it isnt too bad, and it would be a nice car in addition to the 96 beat up civic i have, though i would have to learn how to properly drive manual, i suppose what im asking is this:
would it be worth the cost?
would it be prohibitivly expensive to buy a simple slav jeep
anyone know anything about these vehicles, quirks or what not?
All I know is they look awesome and you should go for it.
>>17504484
If you're in Germany get a Trabant while you're at it. I know that's what I'll do if I ever get stationed there.
>>17504556
then i would feel like i was playing jalopy
Is there anyone in Indiana that has a 4 cy engine for sale? I drive a Dodge Dart 2014 SE, and the I4 2.0L just isn't fast enough for me. I was thinking about getting a k20 swap, but that would require a new tranny, a new tune, a new engine mount, a new exhaust, and also new wiring. If anyone has a 4 cyl engine for sale in Indiana, please hmu. Currently debating if I should drop money on the k20 or a Mercedes AMG GLA45/Mercedes AMG CLA45. Please hmu if interested.
nitrous.
>>17504319
Just turbo charge it. If it's still not fast enough then motor swap it, but try everything before u swap a motor in it anon to make it faster
>>17504319
Is the I4 2.0 a Fiat engine like the 1.4 Tjet? Not sure how it compares but the 1.4 is very capable of accepting performance upgrades.

What can be done about mild hail damage?
>>17503791
If it's recent you'd be surprised how much a year of heat/cold can do to reduce mild dents (assuming you live somewhere that gets extreme temperatures).
>>17503791
Generally lots of body filler or new panels. It's very labor intensive, that's why hailstorms frequently result in cars being called a total loss; almost every body panel gets covered in small dents, and the labor rate for such repairs in a body shop adds up really fast.
>>17503803
Thats a miff
What do you think about this van /o/
>>17503224
Those rear windows are too high, I drive a Ford Transit panel van for work. That fucker is nearly impossible to 100% check blindspots when I change lanes
>>17504780
Same here.
Those tiny windows are gonna get people killed.
why do people buy such a useless, expensive, inconvenient car?
>>17503019
>California
There's your answer. If only they'd stay in their containment state instead of spreading.
>supersharter.
It's like getting a free gas card for the life of the vehicle

What is going on in the picture?
datsun 510 are for fags. especially if you buy rusty ones and want to do them up

Well that certainly is an opinion.
What's the max price to pay with that color and condition but hasn't been registered since the early 90s??

I want to fall in love with a car again. I have an Accord Sport 6M right now, and it's reasonably fun, but it doesn't inspire me or make me feel anything for it. I miss the less practical cars of my 20s. I'd keep the Accord for family duties and add a new car to the stable.
I want something RWD, fun, light-ish, autocrossable and most importantly, I want to love it. I want to turn around and look back every time I park and walk away. I want something special. I've got about $20k to spend.
Talk me in to, or out of, an S2000.
>>17501904
Just buy a C5 Z06 instead, or a 996 911.
S2000s are cool but I'd rather have either of the other two.
>>17501904
mr2 spyder. I've grown to love it more than any other mr2 car. Plus it is an absolute fucking insanity in the right hand and will punch up so fucking hard it isn't funny. Beat a new stang by 4 seconds on track with it.
s2k is a good choice.
Also GT86.
>>17501904
the seats are shitty for anything that makes you drive longer than 10 minutes. (for reference Im 5'10'' and ~160 lbs). the bolsters dont do shit. the steering wheel isnt adjustable, so where it sits is where it sits, fuck you if you arent a 5'6'' asian man. same issue with the shifter for me, its position is awkward, there is no comfortable way to rest your hand there when cruising.
The powerband is dissapointing. I've pretty extensively driven an ap2, and its flat out boring in a straight line, which we all have to admit will be what the car spends the majority of its time doing. Its gutless until 6k, and by the time you feel the power its time to shift already.
the gas milage is fucking horrible. 18 city is a fucking joke for a 2.2l honda, and its tank is small enough, that youre filling up enough to think about how much you spend on gas, since its premium.
something that I dont ever see mentioned is the size of the windshield. It feels like youre driving a hot wheels. The s2k what built and designed in an era that required thick ass A pillars, and decent rollover protection, unlike something comparable but older, like an NA miata. I never really got over how tiny and dinky the windshield feels, it honestly made me feel less confident in the car because it actually makes you think youre driving some little toy car.
now for the subjective part.
theyre fucking ugly when bone stock. They look good enough when they get lowered and some decent wheels on them, but my god are they ugly cars in stock form.
.
.
All of this being said, its your fucking money op. I've had cars that I've dreamt of owning and then bought, that after buying I hated, and Ive had cars that I never thought that I would like, that I bought and absolutely fell head over heels for (Currently building/ restoring a barn find integra, didnt imagine that one in my future 2 years ago.). Go find what actually speaks to you in a car, and then go find the car that fulfills your desires.
looks like a piece of shit lol
>>17501882
fuck off, achmed. nobody wants to buy your crude anymore.
>>17501893
