why do celebrities spend millions on one or two cars?
If you had just ONE Million dollars to blow on cars..

I did the math:

if the average running Geo Metro and it's counterparts (Chevy, Pontiac, Suzuki) is roughly $2,000 USD
1,000,000 / 2,000 = 500

you could be the proud owner of 500 (Five Hundred) Geo Metros

then spend one more Million dollars USD resorting them brand new.

why hasn't anyone done this???

.. Golf II Boston VS Mercedes W123 200D?? And I can't chose which one I should buy. Please help. Both are at the similarly priced, the benz ( pic related, not the one I'm watching tho ) is a bit cheaper, but has a bit of corrosion on its fenders and the color is not even. No big deal tho for a car this old. But the Golf is in perfect condition :(

gay unreliable understeer pigfat
>>
>>17505080
Pig fat??! What beats it in reliability? Your WRX? LOL! And if you understeer, you suck at driving.
>>
>>17505062
>>17505096
I would say subaru is probably only a little better in reliability, but probably much easier on the wallet in maintenance.

volkswagens are designed not to be taken apart by the end user, so that means maintenance requires special tools (i.e., expensive tools) and/or special labor. Obviously getting a new one would be best as you would probably have the maintenance covered for a certain period of time, but if you wanted to modify it, it'll be expensive and of course hurt your reliability.

So, if you do want one, probably just lease it and don't modify it. That way you can at least trade it up for the new one in a few years.

I'm considering getting this shitbox as my 1st car with tuning in mind later on.
Is it generally a good idea? What should I look out for/avoid when buying one?
What would be the minimal specs of engine that I should get, if I want to go fast? (Unless there is no point, since it will be probably changed later)

>>
>>17505021
Buying a shitbox for your first car is good because you'll learn how to fix it when it inevitably breaks.
Think of it as a learning experience. Plus, when it breaks it'll be relatively cheap to repair.

Get a manual if you can and stay away from cars in bad condition.
>>
>>17505153
Im in love with 90s cars, so all of my options are shitboxes.
Iirc all EG come with manual so that's not a problem either.
My main concern is if this particular car is suitable as my 1st (1st as first that I buy, not first that I drive)
Alternatively I would want some recommend instead of this one
>>
>>17505021
Bruv that car is literally the best first car anyone can have. Especially if it's a manuel. Super rugged and easy to fix, has room for people and stuff, great gas mileage, etc... Try to get the Si if possible, if not the DX with a d15b7.

I don't understand the hate for Teslas on here. They are very fast, handle well and look beautiful. Could it be that combustioncucks are insecure about their outdated transportation methods?

>elon's dream of the future is less efficient than an ICE's energy conversion. really, big fat self driving luxury cars everywhere? that takes a lot of space and resources to accomplish the same thing as a train and good urban planning, only worse.

It's a luxury car alright. Not very practical. Not very useful. Never really a vision of the future. Mostly bought to feel smug.

Reality dictates that we are entering the age of the hybrid, skipping personal EVs almost entirely and going to public transit, electric taxis, and motorcycles/bicycles/walking like the rest of the world, eventually banning personal full sized automobiles unless you can demonstrate a legitimate need for one because they take up too much space on the roads and take up too many resources to manufacture and support.

Why is my wheel fitment so bad? Is there any way I can fix it besides lowering my car?
13 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Bigger wheels and tires, but i doubt you want a donk. So lower it just enough and get some spacers if needed. Don't have to go stanceboi slammed. Just enough to where the wheel gap isn't horrendous.
>>
That or get bigger tires, which is what I would do.

Why do companies making overstressed 4bangers when no one wants them?

Like what is the point of a turbo STI, type-r, or an evo? No one wants to have to wring the power out of their car and it all sounds like shit. Wher ethe fuck are the inline sixes. Who is even buying this garbage? Pisses me off.

You mean packaging disasters?
>>
>>17504409
Inline sixes are LONG, and may not easily fit in an engine bay.
My friend's "new beetle" has an i5 oddly enough though.
Probably better to do a V6.
>>
>>17504409
>Wher ethe fuck are the inline sixes
As others have said, inline-sixes are hard to package. Plus they're not as fuel efficient and don't provide significant power improvement over V6's.

not the tii with its expensive fuel injection
its very comparable in price to a datsun 510, both have similar rust issues.
is it better than one to drive? worth modding?
