He's downplaying the turbo aspect quite a bit in the ad, talks about muh rims instead of FI buildout. I'd wager it was put in cheaply and with cheap parts. If it had a few less miles and quality build I'd say $9k is a great price... if it had a different transmission

Look for a stock 6MT and do the build yourself. Could probably find a coupe with 90k and a stick for $7k

learn how a motor works. learn suspension, learn common modifications styles.

if your only goal is to be able to talk to people about cars, just soak in as much information as you can about the mechaincs of everything.

The only reason us car guys know so much about cars is because of our desire to change things for the most part, at least with the friends I've got. All the shit I know is either from research, or first hand experience with wanting to change some aspect of the car for one reason or another.

I haven't heard it. If you like turbocharged cars it's a good option. But if you like Mustangs the GT is the better option.

General first car/bike stories cause I see a lot of people on here that already have a definitive knowledge of mechanics and would much rather the focus of this thread be on how you got to that point rather than how good you are etc
