found one at a established local lot with a less than stellar reputation but its pretty nice. Help me decide weather or not to pull the trigger.

Which one has the best reputation? In terms of image, but also considering reliability and the engineering of the car.
Always wanted a BMW when I was younger as my dad drove one. Now I realize how common all of these cars are, it feels like only the performance models are cool.
>>13905064
Germanfag here, I think they just have different reputations.
Audi is for people who want a nice, good car without paying a fuckton.
Mercedes is for people who want the prestige and want everyone to know they kind of have money.
BMW is mostly for old guys or turks here, has the reputation of being equally good but less classy.
>>13905096
turks don't buy BMW anymore. Get your facts straight faggot.
>>13905135
>>13905096
Are turks just people from turkey? Never heard much about them in the US.
What are some very easy car mods for someone with little to none car knowledge?
ie changing air filter
>custom interior
>>13904989
Plastidip seems to be pretty popular with people wanting to mod and dont have a clue/monies for real mods
For performance take bits you don't use off until it stops running. Put that bit back on and try something less important.
You can loose about 30% of a small car

You need to drive short distances (city traffic) a few times a week.
Your car needs to be:
>small
>not overpowered
>fuel economic
>cheap to maintain/fix
>reasonably priced
>barely presentable so can't be a complete shitbox
What car do you buy?
Hint: it's NOT pic related
Get a civic and shut the fuck up

So /o/ the first major snowfall of the year has arrived here in Michigan. How are you preparing your vehicle for the coming dorifto times? Also, winter general thread
Pic related, the drift truck and friends
Buying sandbags and building a frame to hold them over the trucks rear axle. Bought winter tires.
Put on my Michelin Alpin winter tires today. That's basically all I have to do apart from shoveling and gritting the driveway when it snows.

Rented a 2015 Chrysler 200 and realize that the gas door doesn't lock even though the car is in locked mode? Must be a new thing for 2015 cars or perhaps Chrysler's engineers are incompetent.
I've never owned a car with a locking gas door/cap. I don't think it's that common?
>>13904247
Don't you have a lever to release the gap cap in your car? The Chrysler 200 doesn't have that and you just have to push the gas door to open it. The problem is that it when the car is locked anyone can open the gas door by pressing it.
>>13904269
Don't see how that's a problem unless you live by a bunch of niggers
Where do you guys get your car fresheners from?

Does anyone know anything about early 2000s Dakotas? How reliable were the 4x4s generally?
I may buy one I've found, once I inspect, obviously, for whatever I can talk them down to (4500 obo is what's posted)
What are the Dodge specific things to look for, knowing it's a 3.9 V6 4x4 Crew?
>>13903791
Look for rust in the rockers, rear quarters, and rear schackle mounts. Get under it and make sure the torsion bars are not adjusted all the way up (the adjuster bolt will be all the way in) if they are, make sure the truck is sitting nose up or the T bars are bad. True 4x4 uses an NV transfer case and Dana/Spicer derived axles which are solid and reliable. I'd personally hold off for a 4.7 or optimally a 318/360 R/T but the V6s from that era are solid. Expect to get high teens at best on mileage. They are quite reliable, have 2 friends with Dakotas (one 2000 the other 2001. Both have over 200k miles and only the 2001 has had major work (4.7 in it spun a bearing at 180k and that's when my buddy bought it and rebuilt it.
>>13903823
And the price they are asking is about right even here in the Midwest. Dakotas command a premium because they used 1/2 ton powertrains on a '1/4 ton' truck. Hell, you can throw 1500 leafs on the back and nearly have its payload and only 1000 shy of its tow rating for the year.
>>13903823

I think I can walk him down to 3.5k, if not more.
That being said, anything I can drop or tune up for better EMPEGEES
Why is motorsport so shit?
I mean, it should be great.
Cool cars, fast driving, loud noises.
But its so fucking boring
Regulations
anti-pay-to-win policies make the cars very similar
safety regulations
nanny state prohibiting local tracks for enthusiasts who want to race their street cars.
high cost of entry excludes everyone
Is the Mazda 2 any good? I want to buy a new/barely used car for $15 000 max.
Mostly small rides, but I still wanna use it for long ones during holidays. Gotta have 4 doors.
I live in France by the way.
I'd rather have a fiesta. Mazda a shit.
