Financing a car was the dumbing financial decision I've ever made. My sudden job loss has put me two months behind bills and my car loan is at the head of my crushing debt.

I got a job at a car dealership at the time I was transporting in a broken down 98 ford escort with no A/C and an engine that wouldn't start the first time. 2 weeks into my job my cars clutch and transmission totally breaks down and would be worth more to fix than the cars worth. Because of this, working in a car dealership was the beginning of the end.

At the age of 20 I was approved for a $30,000 loan with no down payment as a first time buyer. I still don't know why they approved me. I have a 700+ credit score but still. I decided that the 2016 Mustang looked the best so I went with that. And I chose the base line because I didn't dare want to buy something I couldn't afford right? I wish I could go back in time and slap myself in the face.

Fast forward 2 months later to now and my debt has reached into the thousand along with the car loan. Getting a loan for a car was a treacherous decision to my financial future and it was all based on an emotional purchase. My debt is crushing me and the bank wants their money, they let me know daily. If I don't pay it in 9 days, my account will be looked at by the reposition department. I feel like an idiot and a fool. I couldn't have made a worse financial decision at this age of my life.

I've tried to sell it for the past two months on Craigslist and autotrader. But for the bank to release the title, the car has to be paid in full, and for it to be paid in full, I would need money I don't have. And I can't get a personal loan because I have a horrible debt to income ratio and no job. Even if I got a job I would need history there for a loan. I can't sell the car for what I owe because it's not worth that anymore. It's a vicious spiral of paralyzing debt.

If you have any advice for me I would like to hear it.

Don Schumacher Radcing Top Fuel.jpg

In recent times top fuel horsepower has been so extreme that it’s only been estimated using the astronomical 5.5-6 gs generated under acceleration. Those estimates were usually 10k hp, and it turns out they weren’t far off. Using electromagnets on the coupler between the clutch packs and the differential along with a Racepak datalogger DSR found 10,156 peak hp on a baseline pull, and a follow up run produced 11,051 hp with an average of over 7k hp across the power curve.

>One dragster's 500-inch Hemi makes more horsepower then the first 8 rows at Daytona.
>Under full throttle, a dragster engine consumes 1 1/2 gallons of nitro per second, the same rate of fuel consumption as a fully loaded 747 but with 4 times the energy volume.
>The supercharger takes more power to drive than a stock hemi makes.
>Even with nearly 3000 CFM of air being rammed in by the supercharger on overdrive, the fuel mixture is compressed into nearly-solid form before ignition. Cylinders run on the verge of hydraulic lock.
>Dual magnetos apply 44 amps to each spark plug. This is the output of an arc welder in each cylinder.
>At stoichiometric (exact) 1.7:1 air/fuel mixture (for nitro), the flame front of nitromethane measures 7050 degrees F.
>Nitromethane burns yellow. The spectacular white flame seen above the stacks at night is raw burning hydrogen, dissociated from atmospheric water vapor by the searing exhaust gases.
>Spark plug electrodes are totally consumed during a pass. After 1/2 way, the engine is dieseling from compression-plus the glow of exhaust valves at 1400 degrees F. The engine can only be shut down by cutting off its fuel flow.
>If spark momentarily fails early in the run, unburned nitro builds up in those cylinders and then explodes with a force that can blow cylinder heads off the block in pieces or blow the block in half.
>Dragsters twist the crank (torsionally) so far (20 degrees in the big end of the track) that sometimes cam lobes are ground offset from front to rear to re-phase the valve timing somewhere closer to synchronization with the pistons.
>To exceed 300mph in 4.5 seconds dragsters must accelerate at an average of over 4G's. But in reaching 200 mph well before 1/2 track, launch acceleration is closer to 8G's.
>If all the equipment is paid off, the crew worked for free, and for once NOTHING BLOWS UP, each run costs $1000.00 per second.
>Dragsters reach over 300 miles per hour before you have read this sentence.

2001 Audi B5 S4. 155k. Black on black, loaded. Two owners, all work done by Audi, including timing, belts (all the expensive stuff). I'm thinking ~7k asking price. I think its reasonable. Should I ask for more? Pic related... same car but the windows aren't tinted.

Why is car buying so difficult?

I can't figure out if I want a car, truck, or SUV; RWD or FWD; automatic or manual.

Something I can enjoy while I deliver newspapers, which usually takes me two trips to the warehouse to complete the Sunday route, in my Accord.
