This is definitely one of the worst eras for cars. Everything seems to have confused/artsy/angry styling, smooth curves, flat noses, and overall bloated appearance with poor visibility from within. Making rear cameras a legal requirement will also kill the idea of minimalist interiors. I hope one day someone finds a lighter alternative to airbags, and new materials science (carbon nanotubes?) make thin unibody frames possible.

I haven't experienced RACV's pre-inspection checks myself, but if they offer any kind of warranty you should expect them to be much stricter in diagnosing issues. Also, the only difficult gasket to replace would be the cover seal.
