MC22? It's a weird experience to say the least. That's a sixth gear roll on, I don't think I was pinning it either. It sits around 4,500-5,000rpm at 110-115 in sixth. It'll do 162 in first.

Wake Up Neets! You're missing all the fun now.

Wake Up Neets before the day's through.

What? There are zero vocals in that clip. It was recorded direct from my preamp. There was no microphone involved that could've pick up any room noise.

That was my pace car. Average speed camera zone. If I wanted to pass him I could've easily done it.

No I would've just called you a retard. It's a direct input recording, as in it's literally impossible for it to have picked up room noise.

>>
>>14223097
You can see he waits until the last second to merge thinking I was going to pass. I'd downshift if I wanted too. That whole area uses average speed cameras. The trick is to find a car that's going slightly over the limit and to stay behind them. That or time yourself and stop before each set of cameras.

It's a painfully boring stretch of road so the cameras are salt in the wounds more than anything.
>>
>>14223077

>>
>>14226602
Pick the cheapest you can for 3rd party, its not worth insuring anything under $10k
>>
>>14226616
I was only going to get 3rd party. maybe fire and theft too but that's usually like $100 more
>>
>>14226627
Maybe, Im through amii and my bike is valued at around $4,500. I only pay $23 a month for 3rd party+fire and theft
>>
okay just went out and started the shitbox
moved it back 1m and then turned it off
popped the hood and looked at the engine
opened up the oil cap to get the engine cover off and smoke was rising out of it
the engine had only been on for 30 seconds before I turned it off
the oil looks pretty fucking shit too so I'm going to drain it all should I try using one of those engine flush things? shit looks nasty as fuck so that could be part of the problem
>>
>>14226697
>paying monthly
it's like you're not even a jew! mine is $336 a year
>>
>>14226807
I put in a little bit of oil and started it up again and drove it round the back for a bit it ran okay no weird noises or anything. it started raining and I don't have a shed so ill wait to do a proper oil change

that looks like it was done by light painting, and stacking multiple shots

same principle as this one of mine, but with much better execution

>>
>>14228125
how would one stack shots?
>>
>>14228100
Nope, thats fine until 100+ nm
>>
>>14228125
to clarify, light painting is leaving the shutter open for a while, and moving a light source across your subject

that shot was around 6-7 photos added together

>>14227559
the ones I posted in the last thread were just tidied up in photoshop (distant reflections, imperfections on the ceiling.etc), my photoshop skill is way too beginner-tier to change how the lighting looks lel

a big white ceiling/wall does wonders for those of us that can't afford a shit-ton of lighting gear

>>14228177
I don't know how I missed that rubbish bin, I felt rather stupid after I got home
>>
>>14228187
oh, hang on

you'd just multiply the kg/m by 9.8, wouldn't you?
>>
finally got around to doing my p off course, so now i can continue not displaying my p's but atleast its not illegal now, also fuck yes free points.
>>
>>14228186
here's my method:

>load all shots into photoshop, as layers of one file
>align all the layers, double check everything is lined up
>use layer masks to include elements of each shot that you want
>try your best to have smooth transitions between layers, and to avoid weird lighting changes, like dark spots

I'm not very good at it, so it's a rather time consuming process for me
>>
>>14228197
That ruins the point, torque isnt an exact number in most cases. It's a decent range. Just doing it by 10 should work.

For vital stuff converting it properly is needed though
>>
>>14228218
I've only had to convert from kg/m when working on a go-kart lel, so I guess 10 will work fine for me

Yes but no, there are standard torque amounts for bolt size/material/length that you can guess at but all cars are different for all kinds of things.

Just on wheel nut torque there is a big range from say 80nm for Lexus, 110nm for Hyundai, 120nm for Nissans.

If you want to buy torque bars get the standard 3 bars from 0 to 25nm 1/4 inch, 20 to 60 1/2 inch and 50 to 200 3/4 inch.

BUT expect to spend close to 700 bucks on a good set of three.

Warren & Brown
Snap On
Kingchrome aint bad.

As long as what ever ones you get are deflecting beam types, don't get micrometer ones.

They are both perfectly accurate BUT the beam type will last longer and you wont get sore wrists twisting it to the right specs like the micrometer ones.

Digital isn't even an option, its a well documented FACT that faggots and pedophiles use digital ones.
>>
>>14230223
My two micrometer torque wrenches are both 5 years old and they are still accurate.
I get them tested each year and they have not required anything yet.
Adjusting them is a cunt tho. The big 1" one at work is a right bitch.
>thanks boss i'll twist it up to 500lbs

Always unwind them after use and you will never have issues.
>>
>>14230223
>Warren & Brown
Excellent because I already have two of these fuckers and want to get another one. Maybe something good up until 300ft/lbs or so.
>>
>>14230235

That's really the only issue is the twisting. Plus eventually someone will leave it twisted up tight one day and slip it back into the toolbox. That's where they start to loose accuracy.

Also Beam style take bumps and knocks a little better in the long run.

Nothing I ever deal with goes above about 250nm (180ish old money). if its tighter than that its just been cross threaded and friction welded together, becoming a S.O.C.P Case.

>>14230250

General light vehicle work wont ever go higher than that

Axle nuts?
Crank pulleys?
Strut tops?
>>
>>14230264
>Plus eventually someone will leave it twisted up tight one day and slip it back into the toolbox

Not for me, only use mine at home.

At work they usually leave the 1" set to 450lbs as it is just for wheel nuts and it's a cunt to wind up/down.

Crank pulleys, strut tops, and axle nuts seem pretty "general" to me, bud.

>>14230296
>Torque to FT (Fucking tight) with a average 3/4 ratchet
Intadesting, I thought strut tops needed the most out of all of them.
>>
>>14230326
So you do those on a general maintenance schedule?

That shit is not general.
>>
>>14230344

Not how I meant general, should have worded it better, nothing on a light vehicle will need to go over 300nm, rebuild a car start to finish and I can't thinking of anywhere someone might need to tighten accurately to over 300.

>>14230326

Depends on what you are considering strut tops, the the standard 3* bolts that hold the entire strut assembly to the car (normal meaning of strut top), just snug up, lower car on the ground, loosen them (not all the way), bounce the front and re tighten to FT. If I were to go out of my way to torque them and didn't have the actual specs on hand I would go somewhere around 140nm ish

>running fine
>now a fucking seal at the front has blown and it's pumping fluid out

Hey guys, I was looking at a car today and I had it RACV tested as a pre purchase inspection measure. Being a poorfag, I didn't have the tools to check for coolant/oil pressure so I wanted to find out if the car I was buying had any head gasket issues. It managed to clear the inspection with coolant levels being fine, but the people testing said they found multiple leaks after driving it.
Because I wasn't going to sit in a waiting room for 2 hours (they don't let you watch the inspection) I didn't get to see how bad the leaks were, but they got given an amber score -- apparently leaking at the timing cover seal, sump and general area housing the flywheel. They also claimed to determine a gearbox oil leak emanating from a part of the gearbox cover.

When they called me up, they were really vague over how bad the leaks were and I suspect they're just reporting them to cover their asses in the event that something eventually does go wrong with the car.
What are people's experiences with RACV certified checks and should I trust the rating they give?
