What's /mu/'s honest opinion on this man and his contribution to music?
le highly sociable drummer
>I'm a multi-millionaire who's influenced by underground acts like Descendents and Minor Threat and I hate the mainstream of which I am a part of
Literally who?
As the only genre that doesn't follow any specific aestehtics or sound, free improvisation is the superior genre, allowing the artists to find true inovation and be themselves.
Improvisation is present in all kinds of music, because for the composer the artist is accustomed to improvisate to find melodies and rythms.
What are your favorite albums?
>>71089839
Free improv can't be a genre on its own as it could be used in any style of music. It's more of a descriptor than a genre
Daily dance - Doug Snyder and bob Thompson (again I am the only guy who posts this album and I will continue to post it until someone gives me their opinion on it. I love it so much)
>>71089887
Entry level free improvisation, noisy improvisations with too little for appreciate.
Can be a genre since other kinds of music are contaminated with specific aesthetics and influences that the artist is forced to follow to be successful, removing originality from his work.
>>71089947
Thanks for your honest opinion. Do you have anything in a similar vein but better? I know supersilent for heavily drum orientated improv but that's it. I'm very new to improv

this tbqhwyf
finally listened to this for the first time today, I think I've never been as close to crying at a piece of music as when the opening track was playing
what does that say about me /mu/
Do you enjoy the rest of the album though?
Broken Heart does things.
>>71089320
I did, I'll need a couple more listens to really pick which tracks I like the best. There were two tracks that I didn't like as much but I just listened to the entire thing straight & never looked at the track titles because I listen to music stupidly like that.
Broken Heart is amazing.
You have shit taste

The Sickness was probably their worst album. I say this as a fan of Disturbed.

I've been collecting CDs with my friends for about 2 years. I find it fun to go with them to the CD store and discuss the albums we find and stuff.

This is good, but too light for me from what I've heard.
>>71088328
This is more my taste. I like the atmosphere.
Is this the best Nine Inch Nails? I always hear people say TDS or The Fragile, and while TDS production wise is a masterpiece, Broken is simply better and more high energy throughout. The anger and emotions in Broken are so much more raw and visceral overall.
Pretty Hate Machine tho
>>71088178
No,it's not, I won't disagree with you upon the energy or agression, but that's all it got, the emotional impact of TDS is much higher, the fact it isn't constant agression makes "Big Man With A Gun" hit so fucking hard.
Variety is important, variety of emotions, Broken has really just one, anger, meanwhile every single album from NIN is much more varied, they take you on a journey, Broken feels more like constant hard punches without much of context to any of them, they're still effective.
But being on a constraint until the song/album suddenly loses its shit is much more hard hitting for me (Stuff like I Do Not Want This).
>>71088449
Not OP but the thematic diversity and emotional consistency are exactly the reason I prefer it to TDS.
