how is it even possible to think channel orange is better than blonde
>>71055608
catchier
>>71055608
yea the way i see it blonde is just straight up better, it's more effective, has more replay value, it's better written, much more worked has flown into its creation (i don't think that means anything at all personally, but I don't think that many people realize how much the guy worked on this, Frank is perfectionist as fuck and as a result of that album is beautifully detailed). Channel Orange is really good, but Blonde is a stone cold masterpiece honestly, it went from a 7 to a 10 for me over months of repeated listening, getting back to it is rewarding every single time it's magic.
Endless is great as well btw, massively overshadowed by Blonde, but it's really good as well.

That album cover is without a doubt one of the worst of all time. It bewilders me that people voluntarily use it, considering it's an alternate one and the original is much better.
What is your favorite album to fall asleep to?
Or maybe your favorite album that helps you fall asleep.
Pic related, must be every song fading out that does it for me.

The Bees Made Honey in the Lion's Skull
I was disappointed the first time I heard this to find that it wasn't a Noisy Psych Rock album, but now I appreciate it as a top-tier comfy sleepy-time album

What's your most shameful 8/10?
If Greal Milenko or The Amazing Jeckel Brothers were released today by a rap group that didn't dress up like clowns they would be critically acclaimed.
idk
this maybe
or lulu
Some the best pop songs I've heard. It's almost the pinnacle of swedepop.

Utter shite. Looks like a narrow-nosed dog.
What are some albums similar to this, whether in sound or concept? Is the rest of the Matmos discography worth checking out?
Yeah, most albums of theirs are high-concept and creative
a chance to cut samples liposuction
>>71054944
Yeah, A Chance To Cut Is A Chance To Cure is really, really good and similar in concept to Ultimate Care II. I've also listened to Quasi-Objects, I remember that I liked it, but otherwise don't really remember anything about it.
Some other albums I think you might like:
Farben - Textstar
Phonem - Hydro Electric
Okkyung Lee & Christian Marclay - Amalgam
About to finally give this a go
Mono or Stereo for this album?
and Mono or Stereo in general for The Beatles?
I don't think it would effect your listening experience that much but my first listen was on Mono.
I thought the album was fantastic, either way.
Mono
Stereo for Revolver and onwards
Of course you can always listen to both and pick your favorite, but for me mono doesn't do their musical ideas justice past a certain point. Yes some stereo mixes are awful but some are excellent and breathe new life into the songs
what did /mu/ think p̶a̶r̶t̶ ̶5̶6̶7̶
Not good but they more than made up for it with that Kickstarter album, How I Learned To Stop Giving A Shit And Love Mindless Self Indulgence. Best album of their career IMO.
I liked if in high school but these days I think it's their worst. The band actually became what they were making fun of on YRTA instead of ironically embracing it to make a point. Honestly, the only post-YRTA release I have any real fondness for is Bad Choices Made Easy, and that's a Left Rights release.
I liked it back when I was in middle and high school, but I do agree that they became what they were mocking by making dance pop that panders pretty much exclusively to mall goths... It still has some great tracks, though, like Revenge, Animal, and On It... Doesn't come even remotely close to the highs of Tight or FGWSSS. Even YRTA was better, and I wasn't a huge fan of that one either.
>tfw Lost in The World begins at the end of this album making you feel like the whole world is waiting for you to see, like you belong somwhere on this planet no matter who you are, with that subtle message that our time is limited and even Kanye can't run from it, only thing we can do is try to enjoy the situation we've been put in, cause the world is way too big and ironically too small considering the whole universe
I might have put it in the simpliest words but I know you know this feel /mu/tants when Lost in the World hits you
I mean I love Lost in the World but no, I don't really think about that since I feel being lost is how you find yourself
>>71054595
Shut the fuck up faggot that album is like 10 years old and has been spoken of to death there is literally nothing novel left to say, especially not by an underage fuck like you.
>>71054595
album is a 7/10 at absolute best. overrated as fuck.
what do these 4 have in common?
I love the bottom two and don't recognize the top two but if they're anything like CC I need to hear them
they are albums created by individuals or groups with some musical interest
they're all really bad
What is this face trying to convey?
Which one?

whats not to like about it? its a work of art
>ethereal melodies
>whispered lyrics
>heartbreaking theme that should resonate with people who are afraid to die alone
If the point of an album is to make me cry, I shouldn't have to help it; it should just make me cry.
Hospice requires you to listen to it alone, with headphones, focusing really hard on the (barely there) music with a lyrics page open just to understand the lyrics while you stretch the meaning of the words to apply them to your own general feelings of loneliness.
Like holy shit, at that point I'm just making myself cry while an indie dude whispers in my ear.
