Newbie question here. I started systematically going through Gundam starting with the 1970s version a few months ago. I saw ZZ gundam and G Gundam and had mixed feelings about both. I thought the original gundam was good even for it's time.
My question: is Zeta boring as hell for anybody else?
I started watching it because of that /m/ chart and it is written that the characters are unlikeable. Watching it alone or with friends, we have been so bored and I have almost fell asleep multiple times and just finished episode 16. I like war dramas and stuff like that, but this is just tiring.
At the same time I started Zeta by request of a friend I started watching Fist of the North Star. The animation is wonky in places, and it's cheesy as hell, but it's fun. I'm doing one episode a day for both series. FotNS is just a joy but early on Zeta became a chore.
Am I and my friend alone on this?

It's a lot more sappy and melodramatic than 0079, and many of the post-Zeta shows tend to follow suit in some way. Like with most /m/edia, it's a bit of an aquired taste; no shame in it not being your kind of thing.

Double Zeta is a great bulky gundam. Yeah core block system is goofy but then it was in the very first series, the double beam rifle was ugly though.
I'm more mixed about Zeta so I won't say anything about it (ReGZ was great though).

When I saw the ZZ in action for the first time I thought the overall size when combined was something similar to the Psyco Gundam.
Turned out to be just about the same height as the Zeta.

Pick any 1/144 or 1/100 kit from the Graze family (Pic Related), and paint and customize it. As far as customizing it, I'm going to place a limit on that. The limit is 50% additions to the kit.
To define 50%, look at it like this, you could take a Graze Ritter and replace the arms (including shoulders), legs, and backpack and I'd call that 50%. I'm not counting handheld bits in that. If you're unsure of something please ask in IRC, the thread, or email.
