I never understood why they chose to romanise it as Jegan, since the katakana for "Gan" in Jegan is the same as the "Gun" in Gundam.

Besides for Optimus and Soundwave, I think Hot Rod is cool despite him causing Optimus Prime to become Optimus Murdered. He had a really good voice actor in the movie.

I see...

1. A well developed prince and the pauper story, only with a queen and a secretary.

2. Neat and unique mechanical designs.

3. A bitchin OST composed by one of anime's top composers. Some even argue it's her best (not for me, but it is up there).

4. A happy Tomino story that focuses less of violence and angst and more on preventing a war than fighting one. A change of pace which I think is pretty nice.

5. Solid late 90s TV animation with no recycled footage but a lot of contributionsand sequences from some of sunrise's best 90s sunrise animators, including the guy responsible for doing the incredibly complex GaoGaiGar transformation sequence. This or G are either the best looking 90s Gundam TV shows in HD.

6. A large cast that is surprisingly well balanced in terms of screen time and development. No, it's not all perfect and it's still a bit fast paced, but it works.

7. A plot which caps off the gundam saga/theme very well by saying that in the far, far, far future it may one day finally be possible for mankind to move beyond war. But it will take ages and a lot of conflict to finally reach that point.

They're not the same kind of weapon, and what do you mean more advanced? The main reason those five barrel beam guns were faster was because they are much smaller than the massive Psyco Gundam style arms. The Neo Zeong's 5 barrel beam guns are large mega particle cannons and can fire a continuous beam that was able to penetrate all the way through a colony's hull. The Alpha's 5 barrel beam guns fire small bursts like beam rifle shots and are basically like a turret on a wire.

Also, the Psycho style arms while larger are also more durable and difficult to take out. Hathaway was able to manhandle one of the Alpha Azieru's 5 barrel beam guns when he got up close to it.

Bandai struck a goldmine. The guy knows how to do toyetic yet aesthetically pleasing designs.

Absolutely do not care for his Gundam designs one bit. His Darius Burst designs on the other hand, are fantastic and I was legitimately surprised when I learned he was responsible for them.

I guess like Okawara, and others still working for Banrise, the guy's creativity is just really hampered by their demands.

The Ebikawa look has its place, but I prefer Sunrise's growing trend of having mechanical design teams sharing the workload rather than a single person doing the finalized work, as drawing from multiple artists with unique styles helps to break up the same-machine look that results when you let one person do everything at the end of the day.
