What are your thoughts on his "The Story of Civilization" series?
I have heard many great things about his work, and I recently bought 3 of the 11 volumes in the series for future reading.
Sidenote: If anyone owns "The Life of Greece" (book 2) I would appreciate it if you would post a pic of the map printed on the inside front cover. The asshat that owned my copy before me ripped it out for some reason.

It's a very good read, but one needs to be aware of its limitations, it is history written for accessibility. It is pop history, very good, but pop history nonetheless.
Do you mean this map?

Everybody says start with the Greeks, but where does one start with the Romans?
In Rome, obviously.
>>9079000
With the Greeks, obviously.
Honestly, Boethius and Prudentius. Afterwards, go into the Medieval age.
America produced the greatest literature of the 20th century.
Prove me wrong.
>>9078965
Agreed. Now it's Latin America's turn.
>>9078965
Most "great" American literature during the 20th century was written by Marxists or women

What is a 'part' and why is the definition for point the only place in the entirety of The Elements that mentions it?
I don't really have an answer to your lazy, stupid, and effeminate question.
But here is a cool game applying some of his work:
https://www.euclidea.xyz/
In Euclid a point is an undefined primitive notion whose definition is just there to give you an idea as to what is meant
What's the Atlas Shrugged of Socialism/Communism?

That's why they fail.
Normies aren't going to read a treatise. They want a Science Fiction, Mystery, Romance novel.

Going to the market tomorrow, to buy some books. Money is not an issue, I have loads. I just need book recommendations.
About me, I'm a guy, 25 years old. Hate simple romances(like Jane Austen), prefer something that is a little complicated. Also like science fiction and crime fiction.
Would also like to get some classics from American, British and other non-Anglo English literature.
Post recommendation charts please.
>Jane Austen
>simple
You're really not gonna make it.
>>9078538
Norton Anthology of Theory and Criticism, 2nd edition.
Read the sticky, also the fact that you think Jane Austen wrote simple romances shows that you
're not ready for anything more complicated.
What are some good books on becoming as Machiavellian as possible?
Lying, manipulating, basically doing whatever it takes to get what I want.
Thanks.
>>9078467
Iron Kingdom has some good stuff on him as well.
If you need an instruction manual on how to lie then I guarantee that you're too retarded to ever be "machiavellian."
What you'll do instead is be an edgy cunt to everyone around you. When they pick up on this and stop speaking to you, you'll smugly convince yourself that it's because of your nonexistent manipulation skills and that being hated is a victory for you.
>>9078467
>implying you know what machiavellian is
Is your goal to be an ass? Or are you trying to achieve things? If youre trying to achive just read how to win friends and influence people. You'll go towards the goal you seek and not fuck your life up.

Chinese Novel Genres:
- Qihuan: Traditional Fantasy. A genre based on the typical Western-style fantasy.
- Wuxia: "Martial heroes". A genre about warfare and martial arts which is more in line with realism. Martial arts may go beyond normal, but not to the superpower levels like Xianxia.
- Xianxia: "Immortal heroes". A genre about cultivating to become an Immortal, which strictly utilizes Chinese myth and fantasy.
- Xuanhuan: “Alternative Fantasy". A genre that mixes up things and which may utilize elements from Wuxia or Xianxia to a prominent degree, but isn't defined as either.
========================================
Basic overview of what the more popular Chinese novels are like:
1. Take Dragon Ball
2. Make it much darker and bloodier.
3. Replace Goku with a much more intelligent, ruthless, and morally questionable MC; who goes around raping, pillaging, genociding, and consuming the souls of his enemies, till he levels up to destroy whole planets and realms.
4. Achieve a sense of satisfaction after all those frustrating times reading Japanese shit where MC's are submissive and weak moral sissies who keep getting beat up constantly.

Ask me anything and i shall try to answer.
