Red dot guy here
I'm bored again so I'm going to spend various parts of the night talking about micro red dots.
Unlike standard T-1 sized red dots where every company at every price range had something to offer you, Micro Red Dots seem to have a lot of quirks
So I'm going to cover all the similar brands as last time, plus a few more that make dots in this category that don't have a T-1 sized red dot.
One thing to keep in mind is to ensure 100% compatibility with your mounts. On the whole, there is roughly two different mounting styles: Doctor Style, and Trijicon RMR Style. Sometimes bases don't mesh with some dots, but this isn't exactly common. Always confirm a mount is 100% kosher to go with your optic
Pic semi unrelated

What is the point of your post?
>>28538116
He's gonna rundown the pros and cons of different red dots. Try to keep up, Nancy.
>>28538083
Unlike in the standard T-1 category where I could have a lot to say about the Bushnell TRS-25, with it's nice dot, rugged history, cheap pricepoint and just half decent sex appeal, the Bushnell Trophy First Strike comes out as a disappointment.
If for no other reason than the mount for the Bushnell is proprietary. It's only for the Bushnell. Which means you are limited to what you get - a little weaver/1913 base that has a fairly decent height when mounted.
Given the primary benefit of these dots is to have them mounted on rifles, scopes or handguns and have the smallest footprint possible - having this comparatively large, non-QD mount is really a major setback.
Since you can't reasonably mount this to a pistol without having brain damage, it gets beaten by it's bigger brother. The Bushnell TRS-25 has a nicer dot, a more rugged housing, a simillar-ish size, and a mounting system that can be upgrade to QD
And most importantly the Bushnell TRS-25 is cheaper than the First Strike. There is really no reason to look at the First Strike.
I've noticed the only brand nobody talks shit about is glock. Are they really that solid?
Is there a single glock model that's not solid?
>>28538015
>Nobody talks shit about Glock
>On /k/
how new are you anon
>>28538015
>solid solid solid solid solid

Oh cool, another one of these threads
So you are in a subway enjoying a finely crafted sandwich, when a man runs up to the counter, pulls out his "problem solver" and attempts to rob the clerk.
What are you conceal carrying, and what do you do, if anything? Hard mode is two armed men.
Who the fuck robs a subway
run away because im a pussy

>As predicted by Air Combat Command commander Gen. Hawk Carlisle in November, the Air Force is indefinitely freezing all plans to retire the A-10 Warthog, a warplane many officials, airmen and congressional members have rallied behind since the announcement of its withdrawal from the battlefield. Service officials next month will lay out their new request when the Pentagon submits its fiscal 2017 budget request to Congress, DefenseOne reports. The Air Force in a statement told Air Force Times Wednesday they could not discuss the budget request until it is presented to Congress.
>“It appears the administration is finally coming to its senses and recognizing the importance of A-10s to our troops’ lives and national security," Rep. Martha McSally, R-Ariz., said in a statement Wednesday in response to the news reports. McSally is a retired colonel who served 26 years in the Air Force and was the first female pilot to fly in combat. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., another A-10 advocate, echoed McSally's sentiments. "With growing global chaos and turmoil on the rise, we simply cannot afford to prematurely retire the best close air support weapon in our arsenal without fielding a proper replacement," he said in a statement.
>While the decision ultimately lies with Pentagon leadership, Carlisle said that he believes the retirement of the A-10 could be delayed by a few years to make sure the Air Force has the number of planes it needs — especially since top brass is re-evaluating the number of F-35’s (planes intended to replace the A-10) that the U.S. will purchase. “If I have them, I’m going to use them because they’re a fantastic airplane, and I’m going to take advantage of them,” Carlisle said. “The pilots are incredibly well-trained and they do incredible work in support of the joint war fight.”

Why won't this obsolete piece of shit just fucking die already?
>>28537066
Because it's a meme with really good PR.
>>28537066
Because nothing else can do it's job yet.
What are the qualities of a good Fighter Pilot?
>>28536926
Nobody knows anymore. When was the last time that two first-world countries had a dogfight? Not in the lifetime of any current pilot.
>>28536972
Irrelevant, since pilots still exist and they still have qualities.
>>28536926
Good vision, fast reflexes, very high physical fitness to tolerate high-g maneuvers, very high spatial awareness, high intelligence to rapidly assess combat situations, dedication to the training and practice of their craft.
>>28536926
A good plane.
All the qualities in the word don't matter for shit if you're simply in an outclassed bird.
"In 2002, ROKAF selected the F-15K for its F-X fighter program, during which the F-15K, the Dassault Rafale, the Eurofighter Typhoon and Sukhoi Su-35 were evaluated."
F-15 confirmed as better than the Rafale, Eurofighter, and Su-25
Let's get this shit started
>the city of yurop

What did they need, though ?
Just SK sucking US dick again, move along.

A good plane
Posting groups edition.
Just got done making some modifications to my Mossberg MVP .223 Varmint 24" rifle and I'm super-happy with 1 MOA groups at 100 yards from a bench with a bipod and rear bag.
Also did some work with the Savage 10FCP-SR .308 using some 175gr ramanufactured ammo. Can't wait to run the 175s out to 800+ yards.
Talk about precision [long range] shooting and shit.
>>28535345
>mossberg mvp
>precision rifle
>>28535371
Lots of guys are running them on here and 1MOA is pretty damn acceptable.
My Savage is a lot better.
>>28535345
Shot from a 100% factory Remington 700 SPS tactical in .308 (20 inch barrel, 1:12 twist), purchased on black Friday the year before last.
You 'Remishit" haters can suck my testicles. The quality control was spot on for a rifle in this price range.
With that said, the "X-mark pro" trigger is absolute dog shit. It's up there with the worst triggers ever. Good thing there are tons of very high quality aftermarket triggers available. (one of the reasons I'm a fan of the R700 style actions) I am ordering a huber 2 stage 1.5 lb.
I will eventually drop it into a chassis system. But by the time I do that, I'll probably be ready to re-barrel with a 6.5mm
Am I the only one that hates this cunt?
zero clue who he is and he looks like a fucking loser
just killing it in the superman hat
>>28535320
> he looks like a fucking loser
He does more than just look the part, anon.
How much do they suck?
Because it seems like they suck.
>>28535043
Supposedly they ran out of fuel. The CB 90 is a good boat. Whatever happened is most likely down to the sailors fucking something up, not the design of the boat.
>he believes the official story
>>28535043
The real question the what the fuck were two lone boats doing traversing 300 miles of ocean directly next to Iranian territory with zero support
I'm about to buy an Arsenal SLR106 (5.56). Is there any reason I shouldn't? I also plan on getting the Bulgarian mags for it.
>is there any reason why I shouldn't
this exists
>>28534807
5.56 is a meme
5.45 is better in every way
>>28534832
what the fuck is that thing
Just picked up this Model 10 for $106.99 today. Forgive the shit picture, I dont' have a proper camera on me. Anyone here have some unusual/uncommon shotguns to show off? Also general shotgun thread.
>>28534224
Mine is neither rare nor unusual. It's a 870 supermag(dat 3.5" chamber) I won at a raffle. But I recently decided to paint it to duck hunt with and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out(first time painting a gun) so, Fuck it, I'm posting it
>>28534326
Brown base coat
>>28534326
3.5" is pretty awesome. I remember my Mossberg 835 and all the stupidly powered slugs I put throught it.
>all this custom shit
>$1430 MSRP
>two 15rd 9mm magazines
>15rd fucking magazines in the year 2016
>no mecgars
Why the actual fuck is this allowed?
I've actually wondered the same thing. I hate having to buy a bunch of mags after I've gotten a gun that came with two, because they're two low capacity ones. There's no excuse for not using MecGar flushfits.
>>28533547
Convince me not to buy one. I was finger fucking a P226 Legion today at my gun shop.
>>28533547
I don't see what's wrong with 15 rounders but the fact that it's all that money and you only get two mags is bogus
What does /k/ think of Generation War (Unsere Mütter Unsere Väter)?
literally who
>>28532701
its fucking awesome, and is one of the best WW2 films/series that ive ever seen
>>28532729

>>28532701
general consensus is that its breddy gud, especially since its german made
Let's talk about 45s. No grip safeties allowed. I think pic related will be my next purchase. Can you think of a reason not to get a p227?
>>28530754
>Can you think of a reason not to get a p227?
yes, the fnx 45 exists
>>28530915
squishie squishie
>>28530754
