I want an AK pretty bad. Any variants you recommend? I'd like one chambered for 5.56 since I live in 'Murica and think it's prudent to fire a NATO cartridge (Century Arms M85 or M90, Arsenal SLR-106, or a WASR3) but I'm concerned about reliability since 5.56 is high pressure and shaped in a way the AK platform is not designed for. I'm more concerned for reliability than general performance, otherwise I'd get an AR. Thoughts? Or redpill me on 5.56 and convince me to load out with glorious 7.62xComrade.
If you want 5.56 get an AR. AK rifles suck at anything but 7.62x39 and 7.62x54r.
>>29946790
I see no reason why a 5.56 AK wouldn't run perfectly fine. I have an AK in 7.62x51mm and it runs like a scalded ape. One that takes standard ar15 mags would be especially nice.
>>29946790
7.62x39 is as cheap as 5.56x44/.223 nowadays, and both magazines cost just as much.
Also dont listen to >>29946799, 5.56 AKs are perfectly fine. its a matter of preference really, so just go to your lgs and finger fuck both AKs and ARs
I absolutely love mine. Not only s firing one an absolute blast, but thanks to the combination of simple blowback and a relatively heavy gun for the cartridge it's really accurate, especially with the stock extended. I carry it instead of a pistol despite its small cartridge as I can hit things pretty far out with it, and fire follow up shots pretty fast.
What's your take on the legendary Škorpion, /k/?
>>29946495
So you carry a SBR around?
>>29946570
Do you not?
>>29946570
Barely bigger than a pistol, really.
It's not considered SBR under our law.
Are there any major differences between modern dual stack 9x19mm semi auto pistols or does it come down to personal choice? There's a huge range of prices and I don't see an equivalent range in functional differences.
What qualifies as a major difference to you
A few.
Slide or frame mounted safeties.
Trigger types (SAO, DA/SA, DAO, "Safe action" and whatnot).
Magazine release type.
Type of operation (Mostly short recoil, but there are some notable exceptions).
Other than that, I guess it comes down to stuff like how good the aftermarket is, if you need it to be lefty-friendly or what.
>>29946471
Basically no. Unless you're talking about minor things like DA/SA, striker fired, polymer, aluminum, etc. Functionally the vast majority of pistols out there are good to go.
I accidentally left my rifle in my car while I was at the gym earlier today, and it got really hot in my car (around 90deg) and the sun was directly lighting my rifle. I don't see any damage, but is my rifle still safe to shoot? I hear heat and sunlight can damage guns.
>>29946351
It's fine.
/thread
>>29946351
What kind of rifle?
>>29946351
>I hear heat and sunlight can damage guns.
Are you talking about an airsoft rifle, or a G36?
I have a New York State concealed weapons permit. Prior to the safe act it was a life long permit. Now it has to be renewed every 5 years. Here's a breakdown of the new renewal process:

Wtf? Cuomo should be hung from a tree.
>>29946333
Once laws become unjust and no longer represent the will of the people, it becomes your duty to ignore them, and if necessary, cap a motherfucker.
>t. George Washington
I've been carrying for months without a permit. Not NY, but my state is required to get you your permit within 2 months. Its been 3 since I submitted my paperwork. Nobody notices. Wish I had a smaller pocket sized gun but I imagine it'd be difficult to get any handgun in NY. If its worth it to you to carry, the danger to you is greater than the legal trouble you'd be in if you got caught.
>All of NYC should be napalmed
Fix'd.
So what's to stop a frogman or team of frogmen from swimming up to it using powered swimsuits, attaching a large explosive underneath the keel and then goodbye carrier?
I heard the British SBS specialise in destroying ships in this fashion.
>>29946259
compartmentalization+ multi layered hulls. pretty much any military ship has this, but the larger the ship, the more effective it becomes.
>>29946259
A carrier on the move is too fast to catch. A carrier in the middle of a carrier group has sonar that will kill frogmen. A carrier in dock may be vulnerable if the mission is well planned but the distance to deploy and extract the frogman makes it a suicide mission, not something your elite troops would volunteer for.
its faster than most other ships, they would have to be dropped off by sub and we can find those, how much explosives are they gonna be carrying cause your gonna need alot and isnt this why we trained dolphins to try to protect our ships and find mines? i know they are not used.
I have a Sig p229 Combat for sale/trade on armslist. I paid $1200 for the gun. I was offered this AR pistol but I know nothing about custom builds. How is it?

Sure, if you like that piece of shit.
I just bought a CMP Special M1 Garand at a gun show for $850. It's a Springfield manufacture with a serial just over 3 million (Sumer 1944).
I loved the M1 since I was a child, and now one is finally mine after all the years of longing. I feel like a million bucks right now.
>>29946064
Lucky asshole, I've been looking for one for 2 years and I can't find one, god Canada sucks...
>>29946064
fucking nice
>>29946064
Nice pham. I got a service grade with a 0 muzzle and 1 throat rating a few months back, and it came with the same new stock. You should put a couple coats of boiled linseed oil on it.
/k/ I need some help
I'm in London and I hate the gun laws, I was thinking about moving to America to enjoy freedom. But it's just too hard to move there legally.
I have thought about what countries I could move to, to enjoy muh guns. And I thought of the Czech Republic and Austria (pump action shotguns are banned wtf).
But I never realised the Isle of Man was actually not 100% cock & balls under lock and key cucked.
So I know that pistols aren't banned there but, I can't seem to find out if semi-automatic rifles of a calibre above .22 are legal and if there are any magazine restrictions.
>tl:dr Can someone give me an accurate run down of the gun laws on the Isle of Man?
>>29946054
Do you have a STEM degree or are you interested in getting fucked in the butt by a nice gay guy.
If either of those describe you, you have a good chance at becoming a US citizen.
>>29946108
Even if I had a STEM degree, the US has laws that restrict h1b visas to like 65,000. So I'm already up against stiff competition.
>>29946149
Yeah, you would be up against Indians and Asians willing to work for much less, the US immigration process fucks you if you are white.
ITT: we post things we hate when in Cabela's.

This is a shitty thread.
Is it bubba to put these side rails on a Tula 53 SKS?
I mean, the Soviets surely had this sort of setup in mind didn't they?
Are you a soviet armorer?
If answer is no, then you are bubba.
>>29945693
i assume you just want to add an optic like your pic, to which i think its fine and not bubba'd
It's only bubba if it was mounted with spot welds and wood screws.
IE, it looks like shit that came from a woodshed.
Bros, i can't find questions\newbie thread, or thread about pump-action shotguns.
So, type it here.
Bros, i can't find any information about models of CBC \ Magtech shotguns.
I'm interested in differences between 586 and 586-P (police) versions.
There's pics of CBC586, that i can buy (100$=7000rub in soviet russia ^_^, that is cheaper, than 3 full tanks of gasoline for my car)
Looks ugly, but seller said, that's all is great, except postapocalyptic exterior. No rust in barrel, slides well, shoots great.
So, i just want to know differences between this pump and police pump. (cbc 586-p)
My father found these metal detecting. What calibre are they, how old would they be, and why did he find just the bullet by themself? My guess is somebody was reloading here or something. We also found a mauser brass (dominion 43 m) that I'll post next
Bump. Help out guys
