What is the best MRE to have on hand or what kind of food could you stolk in bulk relitivley cheap that would keep you alive? i just want to ask /k/ what they do for MRE situations, Pic not related, just some /k/ humor.

Canned tuna and chicken
Motherfucking peanut butter.
Seriously.
Any meal that you just need boiling water to make. Dry is the best way about it. No chance of anything breaking open or something. Just get a vacuum sealer and make packages of prepackaged dry goods that construct a meal you would be happy with. Mountain house is good and all but make it cheap and make it yourself.
So since NorCal is meeting up some of use in the southern region of Cuckistan, I mean California, are trying to set up a meet for people who would rather not drive up to NorCal or can't. Any other Cali anons who are interested in a SoCal meet can poll for what month would be best for a meet. I'll probably get another thread up if there's enough interest detailing a more specific date, a place, and a chat in slack.
>>29948810
Just use the slack m8.
The real problem is finding a good spot. Since in socal we don't have abandoned ghost towns to shoot like in Norcal.
>>29948810
I'll meet up. I got
> Guns
> Steel target
> Can bring food
> Only have yaris
I'm ready for a meetup. Norcal is just too far. And I'm not sure I want much to do with those dirty hippies
>>29948829
We talked about this in slack. This is justice some anons who may not be in it.
Today I became hasguns. How did I do?
Not too bad. What did you pay?
Pic related, just paid 400.
>>29948752
The M57 sells for a pretty good price, and it has the thumb safety in the right place. They don't have any history, but if I had to get a Tokarev pattern pistol and I had to put up with all the import bullshit, that would be #2 on my list of guns to get (the 9mm version being #1). Not too crazy about the caliber. You can get 9mm handguns for the same or less money (look at Ruger P-series, for example P85, P89, P95) and have something that holds more ammo while being cheaper to shoot and a more effective caliber for self defense.
Also, I think we now have three recent acquisitions threads on /k/. What happened recently? It's a little late for this many people to be getting their tax refunds, isn't it?
>>29948752
>How did I do?
You could have done much worse.
do dogs have the right to defend themselves from the ATF?
National Lampoon is funny.
You're not.
>>29948571
Yeah but ATF don't care. That's why fuck the police.
>>29948571
The right? It's an animal, it doesn't give a damn about rights.
If some ATF jackoff tries to kill a dog, and the dog manages to knock him down and rip out his throught, then thats that.
I'm buying a Yugo Tokarev soon for $100 off a buddy, decent condition. I'm a poorfag and I've had to sell guns to pay off various things, so could I ccw this? It has an aftermarket safety.
Sure you can carry it, but those safeties tend to suck balls. Make sure it's not too tight or too loose and put some blue locktite on the screw.
>>29948542
>so could I ccw this?
Condition 3; condition fabric if you're a bad enough dude. The importer safety sucks; I took mine out completely.
>>29948542
>put some blue locktite on the screw.
What screw?
You don't need a safety on a gun with a 12 lb trigger
Hey guys, built my first sten recently, I took photo documentation and thought maybe somebody would enjoy seeing it.
>>29948528
Were you a faggot and built it as a closed blot, or a real man and chose open?

>>29948489
This shit is my dream. I've always wanted to hop on a bike and just ride through the trails and plink around a bit.
Any suggestions or recommendations for getting started?
>>29948489
Just sling em on your back ya big dummy!
I bought a new century arms M70a and the slide locks back on every shot. Also on a few occasions the slide has flown off while releasing the slide. I've also noticed that the magazine sticks out a good 1/8th of an inch and pushing the mag up seems to help keep it from jamming for a few rounds. Has anyone had any of these problems and should I send it back or attempt to fix it?
Send it back
>>29948415
Try disassembling it, then reassembling it again.
Seems like an issue with the slide stop.
>>29948415
After a good disassembly and inspection, if nothing obvious that can be "fixed" stands out, send it back.
OK /k/ I want to rebarrel my Savage 111 in a better caliber than .270. It is a long action so it can be rebarreled to another long action or short action. Is like w caliber that's not super mainstream but also has pre made rounds available so I don't have to constantly reload any time I want to shoot. Also because its cheaper to buy a new Savage in those mainstream calibers.
I was thinking 6.5 something. Grendel would be cool but it's more of a auto cartridge if I remember right so maybe creedmoor or 6.5x47 lapua? What long range caliber do you shoot /k/?
Pic semi related
>>29948320
>not using .50 bmg
it's like you want to be seen as a faggot
6.5 creedmore would be your best option
>>29948320
>implying .270 isn't some of the flattest shooting shit out there.
Not to sound to fuddish, but it's a pretty great catridge. though i concede that since it only comes in hunting loads, it gets rather pricey.
If I buy this, there's a small chance I might kill someone with it.
Context: I am a tall, relatively fit woman who has a best friend whose husband abuses her. He's very big, taller than me and strong. He's beaten her and threatened to kill her and her pets. For various reasons, we can't call the cops until she's safely away from the house.
In a while, we're planning on rescuing her from his house by showing up while he's at work and loading all her stuff into a moving van before driving to the other side of the country. If by some small chance he happens to show up while we're doing this, I have some pepper spray. But in case he decides pepper spray isn't a good enough reason to stay down while we leave, I wanted to buy this bat. The problem is, I am a very aggressive person and I'm aware that I have no problem with hurting people. I'm also very angry, and I've never fought anyone with a bat before. If he shows up, and if I have to defend her, there's a very high chance I might kill him on accident.
Should I buy this bat, /k/, or is it a bad idea?
>>29948286
fuck yea you should. get this on camera as well, it sounds interesting.
>>29948286
Tits or GTFO

>be in Cabelas Gun Library earlier today
>see Mararov
>$139
>already pulling out my wallet
>look closely, "Baikal IJ-70-17A, .380 cal."
>meh, still a great deal for a Russian gun, and will save me having to buy an extra caliber to feed it
>find cabelas worker person and tell him I want to buy it, he walks me over to the register
>wait around by the register for nearly 1.5 hours with two people in line before me because cabelas staff are more inefficient than postal workers
>eventually pay for gun
>$149 with tax
>leave store feeling like I got a pretty good deal
How'd I do for a babby's first Mak?
What guns did /k/ buy this weekend?
What's wrong with it?
>>29948351
guessing he wanted one in 9x18
>>29948284
Eh... If you think .380 is fun to shoot then you did well but I would personally never use that round seriously.
Is a gun with a spiral barrel possible?
Yes
It's called "Rifling"
I WANT SQUARE BULLETS
SQUARE BARRELS WHEN
>>29948280
Myth busters made a 90 degree corner barrel and a nearly 180 degree barrel. Surely it wears the shit out of it, but the velocity was like 90-100% of a straight barrel.
Ok /k/, anyone have one of these
>also historic guns thread
Not an artillery model I dont.
>>29948227
Sorry I don't have a picture of mine at hand but it is a 1915 model with all the original markings
I don't have any good pics of mine, but I have a 1918 artillery luger. Need to buy a stock for it though. What do you want to know OP?
