What's the best ammo you've ever used? The worst?
The best I've used is GP11. I'd heard that it was practically match grade, but I couldn't believe how much better it made shooting my K31. PPU soft point hasn't got shit on it.
On the other side of the spectrum, I shot some Wolf .303 out of my No 4 Mk 1 and I was not impressed. I fired three rounds - the first worked fine, the other two made the bolt really sticky and one resulted in an amazing keyhole (pic related). After that, I decided it wasn't worth potentially fucking my Enfield and stopped. I'd heard of the keyholing issue (I have a two-groove barrel) and figured it was worth a shot, but I hadn't read anything about sticky bolts. It does not stick when using PPU FMJ.
gp11 is pretty good, and god damn amazing as far as surplus goes
but it isn't match grade
no matter what wikipedia tells you
>>30641206
Yeah, I know it may not technically qualify as match-grade, but I was impressed nonetheless. It makes me want to drop the money to get diopter sights for my K31.
magtech worst
fiocchi best so far
What ratio of hollow points to fmj do you guys have? I have a reasonable amount of target ammo now, I think I can slow down and add 10%-50% hp ammo purchases. What is a good ratio?
One thing in the back of my mind is everyone says 9mm is just as good as 45 with new fancy ammos, but what if this ammo becomes unavailable and fmj is the only thing accessible? How much hp is good so the risk of this is low? Is it even a risk? Pic unrelated.

I was split between /ck/ and /k/, and you guys are always chill so here it is.
Tell me /k/ how do you use your weapons and tools to turn bits of mother nature into delicious food? Do you hunt? Farm? Protrct livestock and crops from bastard animals? Buy your bologna from Krogers? I am interested as hell and want to know.

QT's in the household are a DEFCON 2 threat to your arsenal. Standard procedure dictates tactically retreating to the gun closet to rearm and prepare a counter-attack.
Pics plz
It looks like a data stream in the 56.6 kBs range and has been going for an hour, at least which is only used in aerial attacks from the United States. The SKYKING channel (8.992 MHz USB) that normally carries voice transmissions is sending a constant narrow-band signal on its carrier wave.

There is already a huge thread on it on 4CHAN and on Reddit. According to the CND Channel, multiple reports are claiming the US is going to deliver an airstrikes near the Turkey region if you pay attention to the CND Benx codes. DEFCON has been on CODE BLUE

2nd TACAMO (callsign: SHADO02) just popped up headed northbound from Tinker while Nightwatch is headed Northeast in close proximity. This is the 2nd TACAMO (LINE97) currently airborne, the last seen about 15 min. ago heading in gen. direction of Instanbul, Turkey. This 2nd TACAMO took off some 15 minutes after an E3 Sentry (SNTRY31H) took off from Tinker.
The TACAMO planes used for tactical nukes are showing up but they'll come and go. FWIW, the E6's have generally been flying on the North/South axis all day and in the middle of the country from North Dakota as far south as Oklahoma. Nightwatch (when on radar and airborne) has been flying similarly, sticking to the central U.S. and usually flying longitudinally. The E3's that have been up have been flying somewhat perpendicular as seen here, screen grab approx. 5:50PM EDT; the E6 is seen flying southbound to north of the E3. A second Sentry (E3) is currently flying a racetrack pattern to the East of Columbia, SC; currently heading to Turkey.
Here is audio from the orders : http://vocaroo.com/i/s0E6MBDSN8XP
but WHO are we nuking?!?!?!?

Im willing to bet that the obama administration, which has tacitly supported IS from the beginning, caught wind of the coup in Turkey and prematurely initiated it so as to keep erdogan in power and these strikes will be against kurdish forces that will later be blamed on the coup faction of the turks.

Simple, I have to fix the damn thing. So I hate it and want nothing to do with the raptor.

isn't it some insane amount of flying/maintenance ratio?

/x/ and /out/ fag here. I was told a 44 is the best option to stop a grizzly though I heard stories from my Dad about him stopping a griz with .357. Your opinion?
Going back to a mountain lake tomorrow where a possible Grizzly spooked us out once. Going by myself. Not going to take any shit.
/x/ and /out/ threads here.

Whoever told you to use a .44 was your friend. If someone else told you to use something less, they should be removed from your life insurance policy.
bear spray, 12g 3" brenneke black magic slugs, hot .45-70, .500 S&W, .460 S&W
If you're going to do .44mag you may as well do a glock G40; cheaper, lighter, smaller, more rounds on target, less felt recoil, and same kinetic energy.

I like this guy.
Hey /k/
I don't really know where else to go for this, but I need help identifying a gun
My grandfather passed away relatively recently, and one of the things he left me was this gun. I don't know any information about it other than the fact that It was owned by his dad before him.
I don't have too much info about my family history, but I do know that my great grandfather emigrated form Russia to the United States.
I'm not really into firearms, and was considering selling it, but I wanted to check with you all to see whether you knew what exactly it was.
Any ideas what it could be?
Looks like some kind of SKS
That's a Fedorov Automatic Rifle. A very rare rifle.

How many rounds did you expend until you become reasonably skilled in shooting a particular weapon?
Trying to figure out how much target practice ammo I need on top of the stockpile.
>>30639488
roughly 5000 rounds of 9mm to get to the point of hitting a steel target at 100 yards 2/3s of the time with a handgun
managed to hit the same target consistently within the first 100 rounds out of an ar but i dont consider myself proficient. 100yards might as well be point blank for a rifle. dont have any ranges around to practice long distance
id say you dont get a feel for a gun until 1k and around 2k you should be adequate enough the rest is just fine tuning the basics
>>30639600
How much ammo does each recruit expend during military training?
>>30639488
Nine rounds. Three rounds at a time.
Then again, I don't have epilepsy.
I need a hat /k/

Is the velcro so you can put your shoes on your head?
Oregon here.
Our governor released a list of executive orders she will put into place soon involving firearms. One of witch is magazine capacity restrictions (although it's not stated the round count).
> My question is to Washington bros.
do you guys have mag restrictions? If not Vancouver is 20 mins away and I'm going to continue buying them.
>>30639443
is that enforceable in any way?
>>30639443
Considering the fact that the libtards have been confined to Portland and the rest of the state is massively conservative, literally no-one is going to comply unless you count a few people in Portland (which is a shithole anyways).
Good fucking luck.
>>30639492
No it's really not. No one enforces our no private sales law that was put in a year ago either. But shops here will stop carrying standard mags so I wanna know if I can buy them in Washington or if I have to make/go to Idaho to get them in the future.
Hi /k/ i don't usually brows this board but i just took a peek and saw someone posted a pic with a jatimatic.
My grandfather was the co-designer of that gun and the first to shoot the prototype.
I would like to know more about it if any of you have more info all i know is the few things my grandpa told me.
He told me the story of him and jali going out to the military range to demo the gun to so high ranking finnish official, he told me becouse of the way the recoil was directed you could shoot it with only one hand while still being accurete
The gun was not only manufactured in finland (not sure if this is a secret that shouldn't be told or if its already known) but my grandpa told me they set up shop in thailand for cheaper manufacture after the finnish army decided that they where not gonna use it because they had recently upgraded the service 9mm sub machine gun. Im not sure if the manufacturing was really 100% legal because of some paperwork that was not properly done, anyways they were gonna manufacture it for private militarys but the batch of finished guns got stolen after some thai maffia stole all the guns. Im talking 500+ guns and they ran out of money so they sold the manufacturing equipment to make ends meet and thats the end of that story. There are way more than the ca. 400 finnish ones. They where just stolen and untracable so they ended up in terrorists hands and my grandpa hated that
AMA if you think it's something i can answer, sadly i cant pass on any of your questions about it since my grandpa passed last year.
Whats your oppinion of it
