Is anyone else a big fat faggot like me? In my defense, I live innacity, so I have to drive about two hours just to shoot any of my centerfire rifles or shotguns.

Would it be stupid to mortgage a parcel of land out in the countryside just for shooting and innawoods?

I was unironically looking at some an hour ago for that express purpose.
Found some decent stuff as low as 3k/acre but its all a good haul away.

Most fighter designs of the last decades are Delta-Canard designs.
Say something nice about Delta-Canard
they provide a nice clear radar return and make for an easy target
that's nice, right?
>>35040247
serious question here, what's the point of canards?

Maneuverability
Getting a Remington 783 in .308 in a couple of weeks. Thoughts? Have some good glass and bipod I want to use but also thinking about upgrading synthetic stock to a wood one eventually.
Also, why are wood stock upgrades a quarter of the cost of the gun or more?
>>35040225
>glass
>>35040225
Buy a good rifle instead. Anything Remington makes is garbage. Buy once, cry once.
Honestly changing the stock to wood isn't an "upgrade" in any meaningful sense, it's just more aesthetically pleasing. Synthetic is more practical. If you actually have a nice scope why are you putting it on such a garbage rifle? Something doesn't add up here.

What purpose does a .22 pistol have?
The velocity is so low
The ammo is so weak and small
Just why
>>35039785
Plinking. Target shooting.
>>35039895
So that's all you think it's good for? Fuck off
Targets/plinking. Self defense, some will argue the low power is fine if your shot placement is right. I hear.22 magnum is great for that.
Lets get a thread going of operators loving thier job and having a fun time.

Real talk:
It's time to abandon the .22lr for airguns for the purposes of plinking and teaching new shooters.
They're simply cheaper all around, even with many of the premium ammos. The only thing you miss out on is the report, but it's easy enough to get used to that on a real gun when it's time to step up. In fact, the lack of a report can be an advantage. Add in the general lower velocities and lack of penetration, and you can shoot an airgun in your fenced in suburban back yard unlike any actual gun.
Fucking ammo hoarders trying to build up stocks on the order of 50,000 rounds have gotten us to this point by keeping .22 ammo prices artificially high. Maybe it'll come down, but until then, we should be pointing people to airguns.
>>35039461
Did you just come through a time warp from 2014 or something? The shortage is over.
>>35039461
>Real talk:
>It's time to abandon the .22lr for airguns for the purposes of plinking and teaching new shooters.
I'm years ahead of you. I've been using 177 and 22cal pellet rifles for almost 5 years now for both plinking and teaching.
But like >>35039478 said, 22lr is quickly becoming relevant again. But for most of the last few years you might as well shoot something centerfire and fun instead and get more fun per $$$.
>>35039478
It's still nowhere to be found where I live. Every time I go to the walmart etc ammo counter, they say "I don't have it" before I even tell them which ammo I'm looking for, which has never been 22lr by the way.
>>35039461
I know this is bait but still...
>They're simply cheaper all around
If you can't even afford a .22lr and ammo you should consider buying food and water with your money instead of an air rifle.
>The only thing you miss out on is the report, but it's easy enough to get used to that on a real gun when it's time to step up.

This is the only thing that makes some sense.
But if a .22lr is already too expensive, chances are you are homeless anyway.
Air rifles are pretty good at around 10-25 meters/yards.
Obviously there are some that are way more powerful and can be used at 100 meters/yards but that would counter your own argument.
If you want to shoot at around 50 or 100 meter/yards and actually get some kind of precision you simply need something that has a certain ammount of power.
I'll start, here's my M&P-15 gen 2 with dust cover and forward assist.
>>35039312
what about 'em?
Here's mine, pretty pleased with it so far considering it's a poorfag starter-AR.
>>35039312
Yeah they're pretty cool.
I did... things... to mine.
Is there ammo counterpart to this thing?
Say, regular ammo for your rifle is damn powerful and expensive as fuck. You want to plink. You get a dirt cheap ammo that has 20% of the loadout, crappy case, no durability, but fits your gun.
Does that sort of stuff exist?
>>35039194
sub caliber inserts/adapters. Most commonly for shotguns to shoot pistol rounds, but there are others out there. I believe there are custom makers too.
>>35039194

stop spoonfeeding the animals, you stupid fucking nigger
>>35039194
I don't know what that thing you posted is, but...
Buy a nice pellet gun for plinking? Your option sounds like FAR more effort than it's worth. And you still get decent accuracy and power from a 22cal pellet gun running close to 1000fps.
or this >>35039235
I see a lot of depressing threads on /k/.

I'm feeling great! I'm going to be betting my CCW pretty soon. In California. My training is next weekend then I'll get my license! I'm pretty excited.
I'm using a different wallet now, btw. Trayvax Summit. Also I think I'm going to switch holsters to something more designed for appendix carry. And I need a spare magazine holder or some sort.
