5.56 pistols are only "pistols" in a legal sense, not a practical sense. Kel-tec's plr16 is probably the most compact you can get without compromising the ballistics completely, and it's realistically too large to sit in a holster.

Also, remember FAST for stroke symptoms.

Hello /k/, the /b/ fag known as the "Broke ghetto engineer"
Before you get pissed, remember, I'm a /b/ fag, so don't feed the troll (I think people act like asses, so I do shit to piss them off)

I've been calling local gun shops looking for a good alternative to a highpoint 45 acp

I'm mostly run into .380 and 9mm, and a tokerov revolver(With ammo so rare, what's the point), so I'm here to ask what do you carry, why and what do you think is a good carry gun and why.

Tokarev revolver?
Just buy any of the $300 polymer striker guns that are the new hotness.

Why did you save a thumbnail? Also go to a physical gun store and handle some 9mm and .380 handguns and pick the one that fits you best.

Let's say that you are an American 5 star general tasked with invading North Korea with the greatest amount of efficiency possible. As a 5 star general, you have complete control of the entire U.S. Military. How do you go about this?

I just watched the famous documentary Nightrider and now have an important question.

Has a performance car or bike ever been successfully used in a combat environment? I remember hearing about some guy doing supply runs in the Balkans with a Camaro. I know Lamborghini made a combat vehicle that no one bought. And I know sports cars are used to support U-2s.

Are there other examples?

They had the largest army in the world, and they were fighting against Germany which was also fighting France at the same time. By all accounts, the war indeed should have been over by Christmas. And yet, the Germans kept pushing Russia back despite fighting on two fronts.
112 posts and 18 images submitted.
>>
The Russian Army was poorly lead, usually poorly trained, and poorly motivated. The domestic Russian arms industry was a league below that of Germany and could not match it for production.
>>
>>35041900

But Germany was under a blockade basically the entire war. Beating their production should have been quite easy.

Could a single Leopard 2 tank turn the tide of battle at Verdun, if it was sent back in time with resupplies for 4 months of continuous operating and crew?
Assume no reverse engineering of any techs.
30 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
I doubt one could turn the tide, considering that even if it did advance past the front line fortifications, it wouldn't get bogged down by the absolute shit conditions an swarmed enemy soldiers, not to mention the consistent artillery and gas being lobbed at it.

>>
>>35041771
No. One tank would've been a fart in the hurricane that was Verdun. It'd have been destroyed by artillery fire by random chance most likely, given the volume of fire.

These question are without fail retarded.

Hi.

A few things. Drones is a huge part of it. The second part is that the LHX program features didn't end up offering as much of a capability jump from the Super Cobra as hoped, while still increasing cost considerably.

At the end it's a $200 dollar hammer. Everyone agrees it's a pretty nice hammer, but the old $40 hammer does the same job and most people want automatic nail guns these days.

How long until all fighter military aircraft get replaced by drones?
Pilots are deprecated and UAV are much cheaper.
They are clearly the future, the only question is how soon?
14 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
>>35041647
Pilots are still very valuable, and cannot be replaced by drones while performing the same tasks that fighter aircraft does today.

what i see happening is UCAV being used to augment fighter aircraft, though even that is probably way into the future.
>>
As soon as the Military-Industrial Complex can make more money with drones than with piloted aircraft.

In theory, the military tells Congress what they need, and then Congress authorizes buying it from defense contractors. In practice, defense contractors tell Congress what they want to sell, and hand them a bunch of technically-legal bribes; Congress then authorizes buying it and tells the military that they have to use it, no matter how useless or broken it is.

Welcome to life in a late-stage democracy, kid.
>>
>>35041647
Enlisted will eventually replace much of the role Officers do with UAVs and will be called "operators." There will always be some officers as pilots in the air because of muh traditions, but they will likely be a glorified JTAC/platoon commander of the enlisted-operated UAVs in the sky.

During the post-Sandy Hook ammo shortage, what calibers could you still commonly find in stores? I'm thinking of adding a panic-proof gun to the arsenal. Something in a less common caliber that I know I can find when everyone else is buying up .223/556 and 9mm by the pallet.
76 posts and 17 images submitted.
>>
I recall .17 HMR, 20 Guage, and .22-250 still being readily available.
>>
>>35041605
For rifles, all the fudd hunting calibers like .270, .243, 30-30. etc. Lots of .40S&W tended to hang out on the shelves at Walmart. Most other calibers were available at gun stores local to me, but at inflated prices, like $20/box for 9mm.

>everyone else is buying up .223/556 and 9mm by the pallet.

I'm one of those people so I don't have to give a fuck what is on store shelves or if there is a panic.

BUY IT CHEAP AND STACK IT DEEP.

I can probably pick up a deactivated mg53 for sub 500 quid. My dad loves the ss and mg42 and I've heard this is just the yugo made version. I don't want to get it if its a scam but it looks in good condition and I am getting in contact with the seller soon. My dad did just get his uk gun licence so I'm not sure if he would want a deactivated weapon if he can buy a bolt action fal for 3k. What do you think would suit a brit vet and is this gun a scam? Any info will be a massive help.

ITT Post information about supposedly projects that are black.

>Aurora was a rumored mid-1980s American reconnaissance aircraft.

>The U.S. government has consistently denied such an aircraft was ever built. Aviation and space reference site Aerospaceweb.org concluded, "The evidence supporting the Aurora is circumstantial or pure conjecture, there is little reason to contradict the government's position." Former Skunk Works director Ben Rich confirmed that "Aurora" was simply a myth in "Skunk Works", a book detailing his days as the director. Mr. Rich wrote that a young colonel working in the Pentagon arbitrarily assigned the name "Aurora" to the funding for the B-2 bomber design competition and somehow the name was leaked to the media.

>Others come to different conclusions. In 2006, veteran black project watcher and aviation writer Bill Sweetman said, "Does Aurora exist? Years of pursuit have led me to believe that, yes, Aurora is most likely in active development, spurred on by recent advances that have allowed technology to catch up with the ambition that launched the program a generation ago."

>>
>>35041436
Aurora was a black research project of unknown content and aim. It was not some super special space fighter nonense.

There would have been no need to bring the SR-71 back into service if Aurora actually existed as the sequential fart powered arrow UFO it is alleged to be.
