Is anyone here interested in donating to start an Orthodox home for unwanted babies? It will have a site and everything, I'm going to work with my parish on it and they will probably have the link on their site. The idea is to offer a very humane alternative to abortion, and we want to make it all top quality, we'll advertise it as as much as possible and tell mothers who are considering abortion to consider the alternative, and see how well their kid could be taken care of. The project isn't rolling yet, but I'm giving early notice because I wanted to see how much interest you guys might have in it, and if you think you might want to help, I'll keep you posted.

why? did they kick you out of your house?
>>545051
kek, well played
how many people are behind the project? is it a permanent or temporal home until someone wants to adopt the baby? how much space do you have? do you expect to sustain it on donations alone?
why did muh italian merchants had to invest in t. alberto barbosa and memespain for new world explorations. i mean it would be easier to build ships and expeditions departing from italy itself instead of sending money to those moors. what was the jew thinking????? pic related could have happened
>>544901
>why did muh italian merchants had to invest in
Maybe because Italy didn't exist back then?
>>544939
A mere technicality.
Because why spend the huge amount of money to build an entire ship yourself using Atlantic shipbuilding techniques you're not as familiar with, having to shoulder the most risk between your wary investors should it sink, which is likely because your fellow Italians are not nearly as talented sailing the rough ocean as they are the Mediterranean, all to settle a colony thousands of miles away with the limited manpower of your single city to overcome attrition in fighting natives and exotic disease, all so you can grow cash crops and extract gold and silver which you were going to get anyway because you're so good at striking trade deals with the Spaniards in your favor.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, it to use this time machine to travel to any point in time and assassinate any one person of your choosing to that will save the most lives. This message will self destruct.

Can I choose to save someones life instead of take a life? I have someone in mind... that is better off not being killed, than me assassinating someone.

What is the difference between nationalism and patriotism?
Is nationalism just radical patriotism?
Patriotism = I fight for my country
Nationalism = I fight for my people
there is none, both is idolatry of the state
Patriotism = I'm proud of my people
Nationalism = My country is always right
"For it is the fate of every myth to creep gradually into the narrow confines of an allegedly historical reality and to be treated by some later time as a unique fact with historical claims; and the Greeks themselves were already well down the road towards transforming their whole mythical, youthful dream, ingeniously and arbitrarily, into a historical-pragmatic history of youth. For this is usually how religions die. It happens when the mythical presuppositions of a religion become systematized as a finished sum of historical events under the severe, intellectual gaze of orthodox dogmatism, and people begin to defend anxiously the credibility of the myths while resisting every natural tendency within them to go on living and to throw out new shoots-in other words, when the feeling for myth dies and is replaced by the claim of religion to have historical foundations."
When did you realize that Christianity as a true religion is dead?
>>544701
>All these Christians focusing all their mental energy into gorunding their religious events in history
>All these attempts to gut or hide the mystical parts of their religion in an attempt to make it more presentable
They have no idea but they are destroying it all.
>>544727
Exactly this, the people who come on here swinging and apologizing for Christianity are doing exactly what they shouldn't be doing.
But Christianity (and Judaism) have always claimed to be historically-based religions. So is he saying Christianity was dead and its birth?

What are your thoughts on the Ottoman Empire?
>>544252
their chairs are nice and have a varied selection
their beds are ass, no support
Powerful, respectable and mighty empire before they got BTFO in Vienna, after that they were slowly approaching their end, becoming irrelevant in european affairs. Suleiman was based though.

Uniquely long-lived for what began as another Turkic dynasty, and unique also as a Muslim power centered in Constantinople and the Balkans.

Hamburg zoo animals put to use after the war
Can we get some rare pictures or documents ITT?
“The elephants gave spine-chilling screams. Their house was still standing but an explosive bomb of terrific force had landed behind it, lifted the dome of the house, turned it round, and put it back on again... The baby cow elephant was lying in the moat on her back with her legs helplessly reaching up toward the sky, suffering severe stomach injuries unable to move. The hippopotamuses were drowned when debris pinned them to the bottom of their water basin. In the ape house, a gibbon reached out to the trainer, only bloody stumps left of its arms. Nearly forty rhesus monkeys escaped to the trees but were dead by the next day from drinking water polluted by the incendiary chemicals. The next day, a U.S. aircraft pilot flew in low, firing at anything he could see was still alive... In this way, our last giraffe met her death. Many stags and others animals which we had saved became victims of this hero.”
Fun fact, there were elephant species native to North Africa and the Middle East but bronze age humans drove them to extinction.

Why did so few jews end up in Ireland after WWII?
Was in because of Irish "neutrality" or was there a lot of anti-semitism in Ireland, or did they just hate us potato niggers?
No one has ever immigrated to Ireland
