Immediately after Germany's surrender? Western Allies would be pretty fucked, if you compare numbers at least, and it would be interesting to see if the Americans divert the atomic bombs to Europe instead of the Pacific theatre...but they weren't even ready to use in the spring of 1945. Re-arming the German forces (with the exception of the Waffen-SS, who probably couldn't be trusted) was one possibility.

Because he's generally examined alongside cartoonishly evil people like Hitler and Stalin, which makes him seem decent in comparison.

I don't really know much about Mussolini though, what was so bad about him? I just know that he was politically repressive and his invasion of Ethiopia was brutal.

I think the gist of Marxist Communism is to violently rise up, seize the infrastructure necessary to production from the rich, and put in any sort of system to keep the rich from reattaining any of that previous leverage over the working class.

"Workers" in this context means the new ruling caste which purports to represent the working class.

Needless to say, without free elections or any sort of checks on their power, the revolution rapidly makes a full 360 degrees.
