Did they write about their proselytizing methods? How did they get so many influential African Americans to adhere to such a warped version of Islam? It just seems like Scientology or Nazism for black people.

Some middle eastern guy was in black communities decades before the civil rights movement and told them about a religion that sounded familiar and that also empowered them. (people forget a third of African slaves were Muslim or Islamic all you influenced)

It also is influenced by the Afroasiatic movements that formed in reaction the the mass support/membership of the Ku Klux Klan and White Supremacy pervading everywhere.
>>
>>1202772

ugh, never has a post been so wrong.

Not only were more than 2/3rds of slaves brought from Africa Muslim, no Muslims triggered the Islamic movement in the African American community.

The African American community learned that their ancestors were Muslim, and developed an idea that mixed with the racism of black people at the time. Everyone was racist, but African American racism was reactionary to white racism.

As much as we want to believe Blacks and Whites are 2 seperate cultures, they are very similar. Because whites believed blacks were inferior, racist blacks picked up that idea, believing THEY were superior. They liked the idea of what NoI was claiming.

Until they actually met Muslims and Muslims were like "wtf r u tlkin bout?" But Islam still had an appeal because the prophet Muhammad said "There is no difference between a black man and white man in the eyes of God." and Islam was still the religion of their ancestors.

I often in conversations of a theological bent bring up the Sentinelese and other as-yet Uncontacted Tribal Peoples who are totally oblivious to the spiritual demands of any of the major faiths, Abrahamic or otherwise.

For these people, sudden cultural contact would probably mean death by disease. We have tons of diseases we've become immune to that were initially brought about by agriculture and industrialism. These diseases would kill the uncontacted peoples faster than the process of indoctrination could take hold.

Bringing this up, I end up in a debate resembling pic related, but the answers are never satisfying, being usually of a Determinist, Calvinist bent (only The Elect go to Heaven) or of a racist bent (They aren't really human so salvation doesn't matter for them.).

Do you guys have more sophisticated answers. I know people on 4chan /his/ are expert theologians. Let's see what you can cook up.

The person that doesn't know Christ (never heard of him) would go to Limbo, because he was ignorant of Christ word. Because he's ignorant of it, he wouldn't know what sin is, if someone told him about it, I think it would be mighty damn good time to convert. All you have to do is be a good person if you're ignorant or a dead infant to make it to limbo.

A form of is still alive in China.

It denies that God is all powerful. The earth is a battle ground between the forces of light led by God and the forces of evil led by Satan (who is the second most powerful being in the universe). God never intended there to be suffering pain, or evil this is the result of the evil Satan (who they might even consider another God). The two of them are trying to defeat the other, no holds barred. It emphasizes defeating evil in this life to help the forces of good win. Less concerned with what you believe and more concerned with what you do.

>No man in history has had a greater effect on the religions of the world than this man.

*His own philosophy literally became a religion in the form of Neo-Platoism
*Which in turn helped spawn two direct sequals: Hermetism and Gnostism
*Caused a complete restructuring of the entire Greek religion, making Gods no longer literal things but representations of ideas or forces of nature. Also helped push ideas of esotericism which direly influenced basic practices of mystery cults
*Went into Judaism via the force of Hellenization and helped formed the Kabbalah as well as making the religion being less literal and more metaphorical
*Moses Maimonides, the most important Rabbi/Theologian took influence from Neo-Platoism
*Influence in all of the key Christian church fathers either by directly encountering his philosophy or one of the many religious branches it made. Was revered as a prophet by many early Christians.
*Still influential to Christianity in the middle ages in Western Europe but doubly so in Eastern Europe
*Platonic influences also formed Sufism and can be found in the "Islamic Golden Age"
*Teacher of Aristotle, the guy who did the rest of the heavy lifting in Christianity and Islamic theology
*Even influenced secular understanding of religion. Karl Jung and Joseph Campbell's way of describing religious as "arch-types" was based on taking the theory of forms of describing it as psychological forces.
*Continues to play a role in many assorted forms of spirituality and mysticism

what conclusions did he come that you can't come to yourself
>>
>>1202601
That's not a very good question because if you grew up in any sort of part of the western world you would have been exposed to something that contained Platonic ideas. A lot of what passes for "common" ideas about the nature of religious things started with him.

is there supposed to be a code of conduct in modern christianity?

as I understand it the deal is jesus comes to earth says "y'all sinners but I'm gonna die for you just say my name and you're okay" so as far as actual theology is concerned your status can only be "fucked" or "with jesus", and that's only affected by one thing.

so aside from that a person's conduct, whatever it is, could only be a mere material thing. so all the christian aligned morality sellers don't actually have a basis, do they? if they were properly christian they'd have to make it clear they want someone to behave because of how they personally feel about it, and not because of some relation to metaphysics.

not trying to trigger anybody. legit curious.

It's called the Catechism. Only the 2 Apostolic Churches, Orthodox and Catholic, have one and it's why both aren't retarded FEEEEELLLLLZZZ American-style Fundimentalist Evangelicals that insist Christianity begins and ends with reading Scripture.
>>
>>1202375
is it heresy? can I hear a justification for it?
>>
>>1202391
Is what heresy? A Catechism?

The Catechism is just a handbook summation of the orthodoxy and theology development of Christendom, what these summations mean and why we believe believe them to be true. It goes very in depth to try and be as clear as possible to why we believe X is X.

Most of the Christians who bring up your kind of theology are American evangelicals who lack history and often are just self-proclaimed scriptural experts with a cult of personality and tenuous attachment to a wider congregation. A Presbyterian Church in Milwaukee can be vastly different from one in El Paso but still claim to be the same Church. Compare a Prague Cathlodox church with one from anywhere else. Those Apostolic churches have order and orthodoxy that requires universal adherence in both word AND action.

>In a world where all is unstable, and nought can endure, but is swept onwards at once in the hurrying whirlpool of change; where a man, if he is to keep erect at all, must always be advancing and moving, like an acrobat on a rope — in such a world, happiness in inconceivable. Did the German Government have a cabinet? I've been looking online and I know about the Bundesrat, the Reichstag, and the chancellor, and how they related to the Emperor, but I can't find anything about a cabinet or something like that.
However, I remember a Monty Python sketch where the German government fell off of a Zeppelin into someone's house and he and his wife were attempting to organize the bodies, and had an argument as to wether the minister of colonies was an internal or external minister.
I need answers but not for a few months.

Yes, the German government had a cabinet appointed by the chancellor with the consent of the emperor. They mostly performed their functions like ministers in most countries and followed the orders of the chancellor.

Why we did not domesticate bears, apes or big cats? I know lizards are too dumb for it but bears/apes/cats are at least as smart as dogs. We managed to domesticate elephants, but were apes/bears/cats too much for humans to handle? Have been there cases of people trying to do it? in old or modern times

No. You'd have to be an idiot to think he was. His first powered heavier than air flight took place several years after the Wright brothers did it at Kittyhawk.

The argument is that while Dumont did it on his own the brothers used ways to give the plane enough speed to fly.
