Do you know anyone who lived in Iraq? I'm friends with some christians who left before the invasion in '03. They say it wasn't terrible but it wasn't great. The place was a corrupt as fuck.
For instance, teachers were not well paid. To make ends meet the teachers would often times not teach everything that is needed to pass the tests. To learn everything you need to pass you must hire the teacher as a tutor after school for a fee.
Students had a way that they would some times use to cheat. If you don't know an answer, just write "The Glorius Leader Saddam Hussain, may peace be upon him, all praise unto him, etc." This isn't a correct answer, but no teacher could mark out a panegyric to Saddam for fear of being treasonous. My friend knew this one girl who used it alot. When it was things like "who invented the lightbulb" or "who was the first person to walk on the moon" this worked great. One time she used this as the answer to "why did the marshes the south dry up?" She went away after that and no one could talk about her.
