I've never been a wehraboo despite being an autistic weirdo.

all those faggots would be much better off if they read Meditations instead of shitty neo-nazi illuminati conspiracy theory blogs

It's always held a certain mysticism, no idea why though. Most I've found are uninformed and have their history mixed up. They spout decades old lines over and over. I would like to know this as well.

But the Wehrmacht was objectively the greatest army that ever existed. It was only superior numbers and resources that led to their defeat.

Greatest technological innovaters ever.
Greatest generals ever.
Greatest esprit de corps ever.

Name one better army. I'll wait.

You know, if we take the Old Testament completely seriously, as certain Christian groups do, we have to acknowledge that the early history of the world was straight out of a sword and sorcery novel.

We would also have to acknowledge that a perfectly Good God deliberately lied to literally millions of people about what sorts of things lead to salvation and what don't.

Brutus, famous for killing Julius Caesar, was descended from another Brutus.

The first Brutus pretended to be mentally handicapped so as to survive the King of Rome's paranoid purges, until the time was right that he could reveal he was not in fact retarded and stage a coup to found the Roman Republic.

His descendant, the more famous Brutus, was actually retarded and pretended to not be so he could murder Julius Caesar, an event that lead to the founding of the Roman Empire.

The state's rights to own slaves.
>>
>>2233219
It was fought over slavery.

Dixieboos will try to tell you otherwise. And they're right that there were a bunch of socio-economic causes and political disputes that contributed to the war, but in the end it amounts to a conflict betwee slave-holding and free states.

Worth noting however that although the south seceded over slavery, Northerners who weren't Radical Republicans cared much more about keeping the country together than about abolition.

Well, for starters, you don't just have one "cracking" of Enigma. Enigma was a variety of sub-encryptions, very few of which had been cracked by the time of Turing's visit to PC Bruno, which is what I assume he's talking about when he says January 1940. By the time of the Battle of France, the British were still unable to read about 4/5 of German radio transmissions.

Then we have Dunkirk. Assuming the attack at the pocket is successful, you would have about 350,000 troops swallowed up. However, about 150,000 of the troops historically evacuated in Dynamo were French and would go on to surrender anyway. The loss of 10 divisions or so is serious, but not crippling to the UK.

http://www.britishmilitaryhistory.co.uk/webeasycms/hold/uploads/bmh_document_pdf/40.09_Order_of_Battle_UK.pdf

That, is of course assuming that the attack is successful, when front commanders like Rundstedt were not sure of it; it also assumes that the French are unable to reorganize their main force that was historically pursued in lieu of attacking Dunkirk from rallying and giving trouble.

He gives no mention as to how Italy will "immediately take over Malta". It was hardly undefended, and amphibious invasions against foes was not something easy to do in WW2, consider the difficulties involved in the Japanese attack on Wake Island, or the U.S. assault on Tarawa, and expecting the Italians to seize an island without any dedicated landing craft is more than a little absurd.

I have no idea what he means by 80-100 "medium troopships". If it's something equivalent to Higgins Boat, the main landing craft of D-Day, an average of 90 carry 3,240, not 20,000.

The Fall of Paris did not immediately lead to an armistice, although I'll forgive the 10 day lacuna in his analysis, it's hardly controlling.

Hello /his/, I've got a question about the statement "cogito ergo sum". Is the act of doubting a consequence of the fact that i am a substance that can think? Is it more correct to say "I am because I can think" or "I am, in the first place,a substance that think, so i am able to think"?

I wouldn't take Descartes seriously.

>>
it would be more correct in the second statement to say "I am a being that can think, so I am able to think" because substance implies a physical reality that Descartes is doubting in his demonstration
To say you're a being though also implies you exist so to say that statement comes back exactly to say the first one "I am because I think"
