Why do people in the past seem so different from humans now? It's almost like they aren't human. Looking at pictures of Egyptian pharaohs and the way their civilisation was makes me feel like they were almost completely different in behaviour and other things than us modern humans. Why is this?
>>2227428
Because you're ignorant. Human behaviors haven't changed much in personal sense. What has changed is the civilization's standard of norm has gone up a bit.
Egyptian from 5000 year will tell jokes, laugh at humorous stuff, socialize with each other, flirt with opposite sex, dance/sing, be scared of unknown, be curious of unknown, feel ashamed, etc.
The appearance and behavior of the Melanoid people has been diluted over the generations by inferior white genes.

Detravious warned you about making them, but did you listen? No. You just gave Yakub carte blanche to make them. Now we all must suffer in silence. Dumbass.
What do you think it would have been like to be Cleopatra's younger brother?
>have beautiful older sister who rules as Empress and is worshipped by all
>suddenly you're forced to marry your older sister because it's Egyptian custom for monarchs to marry their sibling
>have to consumate your marriage with your beautiful older sister
>you and your neesan now jointly rule as God and Goddess with absolute power

Cleopatra wasn't beautiful, people liked her for her wit and charm, she was kind of an uggo

Here's how a Frenchman from 1910 imagined life would be in the year 2000
what does /his/ think about Lindybeige?

Idiot with a bizarrely annoying fanbase. They're like marxists, in a way. If you think a video is crap, you must not have watched it, and if you did watch it, you must not have understood it. And then if you can prove that too, why the hell are you wasting time watching someone whose videos you don't like?
They're completely incapable of admitting that his videos contain a lot of speculation and shit that is quite simply wrong.
>>2223647
Interesting and smart guy, makes good videos. There is always one lindy thread on this board, sometimes 2. Fuck off with this inane, useless thread.
Stop making these fucking threads
Pardon me if this is a stupid question, but why did bicycles only start to appear in the 19th century? None of the parts seem to be particularly complicated, and the demand for something that would let you move quickly and easily and not have to put up with the expense of horses would have existed.
I assume that some necessary sub-part was impossible to manufacture, but I mean fuck, if you can build a carriage, your society can build a bicycle, right? And carriages have been around for thousands of years.
>>2242457
Roads
well, the nobles rode horses and carriages so what was the point?
mobility of the lower classes wasn´t desirable in medieval europe

Rubber.
Has there been any real thing that reminds kinda of Night's Watch in history?
I can only think of French Foreign Legion.
The United States Military.
The Crusader military orders.

Probably this. After the initial plunder and glory of the crusades, a few guys were left behind to fend off the Muslim savages.
What happened? It looks nice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RRnCnO1Y2c

They're never going to stop until the bottom 80% of males are completely asexual eunuchs happy in their wagecuck jobs with no sexual outlet whatsoever.
Stop roasties. Stop enabling them. Stop the haremization of society.

Is there any merit to this migrant path or is it just a meme?

I like the Fulani states of Africa and enjoy reading about their history, customs, forms of government, etc. :)
Am I the only one interested in Fula states around here?
>>2241711
Yes.
Fuck the Fulani they ruined everything.
>>2241711
The Fulani are what would happen if Gypsies and Protestants had babies
The Yugoslav Wars of the 1990's were terrible and horrific, but could they have been prevented?
Or was it inevitable?
Discuss
>>2241512
The Fall of Yugoslavia couldn't be stopped. With Tito dead, ethnic and border tensions rising, debt crippling the economy and the general fall of communism, Yugoslavia had an almost non-existing chance to survive. Maybe it could have been less bloody if the cooperation between politcians was better but hey, that's my opinion.
>>2241512
Slobodan Milošević anyone?
Balkans are a very unstable place. It´s the old border between Rome and Byzantium with muslims thrown in.
In the future probably we will know best about the role of foreign powers in the end of Yugoslavia
Let's talk about the abrahamic god.
Why does god need to intervene in human life so much?
i mean, he could simply command humans not to aggress each other, and just watch

Why is it that any attempt to point out the arbitrariness of the selection of axioms in philosophy brings about a huge amount of dissembling by people? I think it's because Philosophy (as it is categorised by academia) lovers don't want to admit it.
There are so many strawmen and stupid appeals thrown about. I ask about the arbitrariness of axioms and I ask for people to acknowledge that out of the infinite possible fields of inquiry for philosophers to explore, academia explores extremely few of them.
>Oh my God, you're not dismissing ALL OF PHILOSOPHY?!!!!
No, pointing out that academic inquiry does not consittute the entire space of possible philosophy isn't dismissing the actual subject itself.
>Well Science CAN'T give us value judgement.
I agree but to imply that the rest of philosophy can escape the axiom-criteria-deduction framework is wrong, unless you want to create your own stupid logic system or something.
>Well *prepackaged philosophy from famous philosopher X says*
>*question them about it*
>After lots of questioning they say, as an aside, that Philosopher X assumes about ten trilllion different things
I'm serious.
>Philosophy asks the IMPORTANT questions. Philosophy is HARD. Stop questioning us EVER!
Just because you try something important or hard doesn't mean you should be treated like you've achived something important or hard, or that you should ignore questions.
>science versus philosophy mentality
Stopped perceiving there.
>>2241344
read on kiddo, I see science as a subset of philosophy
You are entirely correct.
Which is why we must consistently advocate the reading of Ludwig Wittgenstein's 'Philosophical Investigations' so that plebs can realise Justification comes to an end whereby we must passover to mere description.
What's the biggest dick move in history ?
Honnestly, it still makes mad that the USA refused to pay its debts to France. The argument they used ("We owe a debt to Louis XVI, not the republic") is the worst of its kind. And some Americans keep justifying it.
>>2241267
>We owe a debt to Louis XVI, not the republic
This is factually correct, though. A revolting government does not collect or acquire the debts of the state they succeed. They never have.
>>2241360
The republic inherited the debt of the monarchy. The Americans just decided to be dicks.
>>2241403
>The republic inherited the debt of the monarchy
No, it didn't. Just like the Soviet Union didn't collect or acquire the debts of the Tsardom. A government in revolt is not a descended successor.
