I'm reading "The American Revolution: What Really Happened" by Alan Axelrod and so far it seems pretty redpilled. It does away with some common myths and teaches things that hardly anyone's heard about. American history in general I would recommend Larry Schweikart and his Patriots History of the Modern World and Patriots History of the US. Hes a little koolaidish but he provides a ton of anti leftist arguments and he provides sources, so that's always a plus.

Was Pearl Harbor the dumbest military strike in the history?

>attacking the most powerful military force in the world

Never knew Japan attacked Germany
>>
>>2252955
The Us officially said it would attack if they bombed zones where they traded which meant japan couldnt take the pacific completely and it would cost them more lives

The US also embargoed japan from oil trade and without they can't into war

they were put in an impossible situation although attacking was way worse, if Germany hadn't fallen japan probably wouldn't have either
>>
what you have to understand was that that japanese government at the time was completely dominated by the military high command (particularly the army) and did not have any members of the diplomatic corps present when they were deciding to go to war with America. All they did was look at a map and say "well war with America is inevitable, since we're not going to back off from the dutch east indies or china, and since they control the philipines they could split our empire in two easily. They're just a decadent democracy with no stomach for war, if we give them a shocking loss they'll back down." If they had talked about this with diplomats who had actually spent a great deal of time in America they might have learned what a bad idea it was.

especially soviet snipers

are women naturally better marksman then men... (they have superior hand eye coordination) over men?

would an all women's navy seals team be superior to a male navy seal team?
44 posts and 8 images submitted.
>>
I think it had more to do with the fact that it was one of the few combat roles open to female soldiers, and something no other country allowed so the Soviets liked to use it in their propaganda efforts of "everyone is doing as much as they can to win the great patriotic war". I don't think women are naturally better marksmen than men, but I'm not saying they're any worse either.

>For service in the Great Patriotic War some 11,635 people were eventually awarded the gold star of Hero of the Soviet Union (equivalent to the U.S. Medal of Honor, or the U.K. Victoria Cross). Of this total, only 92 (0.08%) were women, and of these, only 6 (6.5%) were rated as snipers. Five of those six were killed in action. Women aviators, with a glamorous combat role that made for better propaganda, tended to collect more medals.

>Hero of the Soviet Union Maj. Lyudmila M. Pavlichenko was the top-scoring woman sniper of all time, with 309 confirmed kills, of which 36 were enemy snipers. A rifle club sharpshooter before the war, she had worked as a grinder at the Kiev Arsenal and earned a Master’s degree in history. Wounded in June 1942, she was pulled out of combat and sent on a propaganda tour of the U.S., Canada, and Great Britain, becoming the first Soviet citizen welcomed at the White House by President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

>More typical was the experience of Privates Mariya S. Polivanova and Natalya V. Kovshova, a spotter and sniper team killed in action together near Novgorod on August 14, 1943. Wounded and out of ammunition, they waited until German troops approached their trench, then detonated their grenades.

>alot of the best snipers in WW2 were women
>especially soviet snipers
Of the top 10 Soviet snipers of WWII (by kill count), only one, Lyudmila Pavlichenko, was female.

>they have superior hand eye coordination
False. Men have repeatedly proven to have better hand-eye coordination, owing to the male brain's greater aptitude for spacial coordination.

>would an all women's navy seals team be superior to a male navy seal team?
No, for the simple fact that men have higher physical ceilings than women.

Is the freedom to sue whoever you want for whatever you want a form of free speech?

Some months ago i saw this brought up on /int/ (a very /pol/ite board who is consequently pretty libertarian and free market pro) that some were angry that new international trade reforms will result in big corporations will be able to sue small businesses

So is the right to sue anyone you want for anything a form of free speech?

>Is the freedom to sue whoever you want for whatever you want a form of free speech?

A) No

B) You don't have the freedom to sue whomever you want. Unless you state a cause of action upon which relief can be granted by a court, it will be dismissed without ever reaching the person you're filing suit against.
>>
>>2252649

B) You don't have the freedom to sue whomever you want. Unless you state a cause of action upon which relief can be granted by a court, it will be dismissed without ever reaching the person you're filing suit against.
But they point isn't if they can sue and win, but only if they can make the legal system take them seriously
How is that not freedom of speech?
>>
>>2252530
>some were angry that new international trade reforms will result in big corporations will be able to sue small businesses
The TPP/TPIP was going to rig it up so corporations could sue not just smaller businesses, but anyone who cut into their profit line, be they governments, states, municipalities, or individuals, foreign or domestic. They could sue for any amount they deemed fit (remember when the music industry tried to sue an individual pirate for seven times more money than existed on the entire planet?)

Further, they wouldn't go through the standard court system, but through a panel of three private lawyers, hired, not by any elected government, but by the private sector itself.

It would have been an end to national sovereignty for all signers involved.

A lawsuit is an economic assault, not an expression of opinion. It's using the threat state violence to resolve a conflict and to forcibly take money from one group and give it to another.

If that's free speech, then so are theft and murder. So no on both counts.

Not that you don't need an arbitrator with authority to prevent the more disorderly theft and murder that will occur between powerful entities without said - justice is a function of the state - but it's not about free speech, and the potential for abuse is rather obvious.

When the Rus raided the suburbs of Constantinople in the 9th century, there were many Greek boys such as pic-related in the city, many of whom were soon captured by the bands of raiders from the North.

Tell me, /his/: what did those burly, muscly, manly, bara, pent-up, blond-haired, blue-eyed Norsemen do to the Greek boys they captured?

Okay, the byzantines recorded that the Rus called their leader a kagan.

Kagan is a Turkic word for leader.

The Byzantines recorded that one famous leader of the Rus was average height.

Actually, contemporary records indicate that the Rus (Varangians) had an appearance that suggests Nordic/Germanic appearance.

The population of England was around 1.5 million in 1086. The Anglo-Saxon warriors at the Battle of Hastings were 0.007% of the English population.

Why did such a tiny minority of soldiers decide the fate of an entire Kingdom? Was the conquest really just the House de Normandie replacing the line of Godwin, with the average Saxon not caring little for the outcome?

Many Anglo-Saxon warriors fled to Ireland, Scotland, Scandinavia, and especially Byzantium.

So many that the Varangian guard came to be called the Anglo-Varangian guard.

>he doesn't have flora on his flag

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Flags_with_plants

COME ON PEOPLE! IT'S 2017!

It's not really anything new. Olive leaves have been on flags for centuries. The maple leaf is sort of a Canadian version of what olive branches were historically for them. A lot of medals and awards given have maple leafs on them. Plus they had to pick something that wouldn't trigger the French people so anything British or star based was a no-no.

Hell, Mexico has a cactus on their flag. And Cheshire in England has wheat of all things on their flag.
>>
>>2252109

they made the flag "canadian" rather than "a British territory" because the pepsis were getting butthurt and LITERALLY engaging in terrorist activity.

so they took the union jack off and made it the maple leaf, a long held canadian symbol.

This new flag honestly looks much better than their original ugly cluster fuck
>>
>>2252295
I wasn't questioning the flag itself but the change which >>2252305 explained, am I right in saying it was primarily the french Quebecois that had the issue?
