As NVIDIA won the market for GPUs?
As Nvidia currently dominated the GPU market? Why AMD does not seem to be as relevant as in the past? The answer is not cut and dry, and there is some history to reach where we are today, but here are some of the highlights of a long series of losses AMD were wins for Nvidia.

In JavaScript RegExp how to return what is match so far.
For example:
"123567890".match(/1234567890/i) returns "123"
"abcede".match(/abcdef/i) return "abc"
In another word return what is matched so far and disregarding the rest even if the whole regexp doesn't match.
>>54929162
it returns an array and it ony returns one item in the array since you have ony one match
>>54929289
Close but not quite. Look at the examples again.
The flag might be wrong, but you'll get the idea.
Even if the whole regexp doesn't match it should still return what is matched so far starting from the left once it stop matching.
So "abcedeabc".match(/abcde/i) will only return "abc" because that is what it was matched so far.

Sup /g/ I am looking to learn C++ and have been gifted this book, just wanted to know what /g/ thinks of it? Also good C++ books thread.

My intuition tells me something with that many editions is to be avoided. Granted, that's just my uninformed opinion, but I can't recall any Nth-edition books I've read being nothing but garbage meant to be make a killing on schools and students. I also don't like how specific it is about OOP, because a lot of books waste your time with shitty and non-real-world OOP practices on you.
Honestly anon, the book you use isn't really that important. Just dive in, use the internet, and try out any books you can. Get into a cycle of learning, applying what you learn (say, working on projects), and repeating until you get your shit down.
Also expect to be confused as hell to read and reread the same thing over and over again, and not understand. That is normal, and one day it'll click. And once you're over your first programming language, any other language is clear sailing.

cheers mate, that is actually a very helpful post!

I find the cover of this book disturbing.
It's like they copy O'reily but can't take animals again so they decide to go with fruits.

Organization. I use my laundry room for my servers and tools.

A toolbox?
Toolboxes with cutouts for each item so that you can tell what hasn't been put back when you finish a job. Rolls Royce does it so a missing socket doesn't tear apart a plane engine when they fire it up.

So i wanna spend ~500 pounds for a new phone.
I never had a phone except old nokia, now that amazon uk delivers s7 to my country should i spend an extra 50 pounds for edge?
Also ,what color would you say looks best?
im thinking silver>gold>black.

Do you still live with your parents?
>>54928905
i do cause i live in eastern Europe, but i buy my own phone.
Both phones are garbage. Samsung is about to sink with apple this year.
I say wait for the next OPPO, One Plus, and Asus line ups. Get the Zenfone 3 deluxe/ultra in agust, or buy a 32gb Moto X style - literally the best phone.
Are phones with keyboards gone for good? Would you use one?
Hell yeah i would use one. Typing on screen is not my side.
I'm finally back using a physical keyboard after years of going without and I couldn't be happier.
>>54928821
I would love to use a phone with a horizontal keyboard like that. Problem is nobody makes them. Best we have is the Blackberry priv. I'm on a v10 right now and i love it. Would love it more if the horizontal keyboard didn't take up literally the entire screen when typing.

It's used to host the servers you download it from.

Sup /g/uys! I'm on my way to build a new PC but can't really choose optimal hardware. I'm not too much into modern PC gaming (multiplats on ultra serrings and 60+ fps and so on), emulation is a priority. In this case, CPU is much more important than GPU I guess (as well as IPC), especially the fact that my Sony TV's upscaler shows 480p content pretty decent and I'm not going to up the resolution 3-4 times and more. The dilemma is choosing between something like i3 6100 (2 cores, 4 threads, 3,7 Ghz clock speed) or i5 6500 (4 real cores, 3,2 Ghz clock speed with turbo boost to 3,6). I know that Dolphin emulator is 2 thread app and very demanding on clock speed (pretty much as any emulator) but I want a little futureproof here... What about emulators like Cemu (when it will be more optimised of course), will it get any benefit from i5 CPU? Is there any significant difference in performance betwen i3 or i5 (speaking about + 0,2-0,3 Ghz in "faster" i3 of course) or games will work 60 fps on both CPUs and i 5 is a better and more future proof option? Should I spend more on i5 6600? I'd like to clarify that overlocking is not an option for me (budget motherboard + I want to go as "stock" and as low in power consupmtion as possible), so i dunno if paying for extra Mhzs would be overkill or it is crucial. Right now im going to get a new cpu + 16 gigs od RAM and using INTEL gpu until I'm getting a midrange GPU like radeon x 480. Is it a good idea to use intel graphics for native res (and without enhancement) on dolphin and pcsx2 for a while? Thank you guys in advance and sorry for my awful english

Not reading all that shit, but a G3258 is the best cheap CPU for emulation. Get one with the cheapest Z97 board you can find, overclock it past 4GHz and you're golden.
