Who is the best to write one to two FULL paragraphs on?

Find more information about one of the following people and explain why he or she is important to structured programming: Edsger Dijkstra, Corrado Bohm, Giuseppe Jacopini, and Grace Hopper.

What's the point of arguing over people's Linux distro of choice? Do you really need to feel superior over other Linux users when you already get that epeen from bullying Windows users? Why not just let people do what they enjoy, even if their system is unstable or their DE is ugly or whatever? This board is needlessly inflammatory, I swear. If you use Linux, you're already superior enough so you can stop bitching about Ubuntu noobs or arch retards or whatever

This is the correct answer. Just use whatever suits your needs, anons.

I also wonder how long people's "Linux > Window$" phase usually lasts (mine felt rather short and it only happened in my teenage years), or if it only depends on being a bit of an idiot.

But I am, anon.

People who are afraid of credit cards are dumb. They're useful and fucking easy mode for amazing credit. Just put everything you buy on a credit card, don't spend more money than you actually have, and just pay it off in full. Credit is a bullshit system but at least mine is stellar.

ITT: Software that went from good to shit and why

>pic related
Used to be a good virus remover because of it's good scanning, and now it looks like those "anti-virus scanner!" viruses. It also brings up a dialogue that tells you about a new update at random, even if you go into task manager and end MalwareBytes' process, it will open itself to tell you it has an update. I literally got an update notification from it as I typed this.

Ăștorrent is probably the obvious one.

For me, I guess maybe imgur, even though it's a website. I initially liked it because it was clean and minimal, but now it insists on bombarding me with "viral" garbage recommendations everywhere I go.

Pic unrelated. I'm looking to add a few fans to my case, and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I'm looking to add one 120 mm fan on the side to blow across my gpu, and two 200 mm fans on the top to vent out the hot air. Something on the quieter side is preferred.

Read the title: Life*SPAN*.

Jerks tell me to always keep my battery between 10% - 90% as a rule of thumb, because fully charging and then discharging makes battery kill.

And then someone says "that's bullshit, the battery doesn't care when or how you discharge it".

Then someone says "there's different types of batteries, so it depends".

And then everyone argues and I still don't know how to keep my laptop's battery lifespan nice and cozy, nor if it's bad to always keep it plugged in and at 100%.

Wut do?

>>
Please help, friends. I'm sorry for being a bit arrogant in the OP.
>>
different battery tech is different. old advice to fully discharge always is old and is bad for lithium batteries

lithium batteries last longer if you keep them topped off and avoid discharging completely. extended duration of being completely discharged can ruin a lithium battery

some devices will happily overcharge your batteries so you should know what type of battery your device is using. lipo batteries tend to not have safety features, and should be disconnected when fully charged.

Thanks anon, that was quite helpful.

One other question though: I used to have a device (a wireless headset) that I would sometimes not use for months at a time, and eventually it was not able to hold a charge for even a few moments. Which was expected, of course - but in my vain attempts to bring it back to life -- charging it, no dice, charging again, no dice -- eventually it started to work. And it eventually was able to hold a charge for a few hours, and was usable again.

Would you know what mechanics were behind this? (Though unfortunately I can't remember what type of battery it used, since the device is long-gone.)
