cellphones are removing the headphone jack
laptops are removing USB ports for USB-C
consumer PCs are shifting towards touchscreen 2-in-ones
bluetooth headphones will soon be the norm
modular cases rising in popularity
battery packs becoming more common, battery life getting shorter
do you like the way technology is moving, /g/?

I just don't use technology in a way that this stuff is likely to bug me for a while.
>>55006205
>USB-C
It's USB TYPE C you gay faggot appledrones
>building my first pc
>come to /g/ for advice

>getting worse performance in most games than another friend with i5 750 and hd7950
>fx6300 still offering competitive performance against the i3 6100 except for ram intensive applications and games, because ddr4
Fuck you /g/, my next build will be an AMD cpu/gpu build.
I'd rather get 5-10 less fps than buy amd

Red,dry, hard, itchy skin and small blister from mouse pad
Looks like a fungal infection.
Get off the computer, you sweaty compulsive computer nerd.

Stop playing games.
You might be having a reaction from the material the pad is made of. These things sometimes happen at random.
Rumors that MATROX is partnering with Samsung to start making Gaming cards again after many years of making business cards like they did before...
Comming early 2017... HOW HYPED ARE YOU?? THEY ARE GONNA CRUSH NVIDIA AND AMD
AMD AND NVIDIA DRONES ON SUICIDE WATCH
>>55005394
It'd be very healthy for this industry and even better for the consumer. Unfortunately, I don't believe it.
Matrox was never even that good at gayming cards, but the idea of them being relevant again is pretty neat.
>buying literally no name brands like AMD and Matrox
literally kill yourself
Is it too small or perfect size?
>>55005311
Its a good size. If only there were some android equivalents with decent specs.
Bought one on release. Absolutely fabulous phone. A bit weird coming from android but I have heavily enjoyed it thus far. I had a phone with a 5.7 inch screen, and after a little adjusting I hardly notice a difference. Only thing that sucks is watching movies on it.
>>55005311
Way too small. I mean, I'm biased, because I like 5.5" just fine, but c'mon. This thing is so ridiculously small.
I don't even get why people buy smartphones, MOBILE COMPUTERS, at that small a size. It's like a toy.
Maybe this was OK when most browsing wasn't done on phones, but now it's just too small IMO.
Is C functional or object-oriented?
>>55005199
hardly functional
>>55005199
Neither. It's procedural.
No.

I'm in the market for a new tv. What can you guys recommend in the 4-5k$ range? Requirements:
OLED
UHD 4K
65"+
>>55005108
>spending $4000 on a TV that will die in a year

Why will it die in a year, plz be specific? What do you recommend then?
Give me one good reason to get a macbook air over this piece of shit, or any other budget netbooks.

Suh /g/, looking for a logical GPU upgrade for my rig, currently rocking an EVGA GTX 750Ti, want to keep it $200 or under if possible, with a little bit of leeway.

What is the heaviest compression algorithm?
Not fastest, like zip or gzip, I mean the smallest possible file size.
Is bz2 still the best? What else should I be using?
(for text files, --- daily backups of all my projects)
xz
>>55004643
run all of them and see which file is the smallest.
>>55004643
lzma2 ?
for daily backups of text files you should use version control.

Was looking through Task Manager a few days ago and saw it running in the backgroud. I think that is bullshit.
You're supposed to pay someone $80k to configure that stuff through Group Policy.

I feel like it went through some brilliant developers, pouring their ideas into this new OS, then just got totally fucked by some financial dudes whose whole goal was to make it just usable enough that they'd make money off of it. Shit sucks
Why did Linux on the desktop fail?
Maybe because it was never meant to be a desktop but a server OS
>>55003983
Linux is losing market share in servers like mad.
Consumer technology is just cancer, if something becomes successful or not has nothing to do with quality or usability, only with mass marketing.
When it comes to tech, peolpe have less mental abilities than an ape, just see the backlash taht Win8 got just becasue of the start menu.
