I'd love to crossfire a pair of nanos, they're so cute.

Eventually cards like the Nano will just be standard.

So why is everyone saying this card is bad? I looked up some benchmarks and reviews and it looks fantastic for the price.

Same price as the GTX 970 but
>better performance
>DX12 support
>8GB of RAM

Are all these anti-amd threads paid shills or something, because the card looks fine.

Costs more than aftermarket 970 for reference 480, they trade blows in performance, can't overclock as well as the 970, shit reference cooler and non reference cards will cost even more.

$200? well that doesn't get you much if you want power. But if you want something that's sort of okay, i'd go for a chromebook (an INTEL one). You can put ubuntu on them by literally typing one thing into it's terminal and entering, and it has enough processing power to run cs:source, so it's not exactly shit for the price. They look flimsy but are pretty fucking durable, I dropped it a few times and never had an issue.
>>
>>55365705

So I've finally decided to start dual booting my windows 7 with something Linux based. My only experiencing with Linux so far is from one of my classes in which we used Ubuntu server and Ubuntu OS to make web servers and stuff. So far I like how the terminal is on Ubuntu but if there are other alternatives that would be better I would be more than happy to use it instead.

Every fucking card out there can draw more from the PCIe slot than the specs implies.

The Nvidia GTX 950 2GB (No Power connector) draws an average of 74w at load. With spikes probably reaching much higher.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/GTX_950/21.html

If you overclock that card then you are most definitely drawing more power than the PCIe spec of 75w. Proof?

http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/asus-gtx-950-2-gb-no-power-connector.221826/#post-3456668

>I see that in the bios they reduced all the voltages maybe nvidia found that 950 needs lower voltages to run stable.
Because a i have a gtx msi 950 oc one fun and i run a medium overclock at 1404 max clock at 1.1875 voltage = 108 watts. (max power limit for my board)
>(MAX POWER LIMIT FOR MY BOARD)

Watch this vid for an explanation. Yes he shills for AMD but he still talks sense about this issue.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFuYc2FHgjw

Basically it's a fucking non-issue that Nvidia trolls hooked onto. If it was an issue we would have heard about this LONG before on other cards that only draw their power from the PCIe slot and I bet there are plenty of people who OC'd those cards without issue.

Basically it's just a few tards with really shitty motherboards that were going to die anyhow having issues and Nvidiots looking for a way to troll the 480 at launch.

Holy shit AMDrones are REALLY upset that their dumpster fire card is shit.
>>
>>55365369
Every overclocked card draws more, which is the important fact shills are conveniently ignoring.

Anyone else looking forward to more budget cards like the 460x or 470?

Have they fixed the driver overhead? I'm still using an i3 2120 so I'm not sure if I should go with ATI 460x or maybe a gtx1050.

I'm waiting for aftermarket 480s personally. As for which lower end card to go for I wouldn't be too concerned over it right now because we know somewhere between jack and shit about them.

AMD seems to be dropping the (x) suffix though, so there will likely only be a 460 and a 470 with aftermarket cards filling the price gaps.
>>
>>55365394
Yeah problem is the 480 is too powerful for me, I don't need that kind of performance so it'll be a waste of money.

I should be fine on my 260x for a little longer though
>>
>>55365443
You wont need it now, but perhaps later. 8GB will be adequate for the foreseeable future.
