Why is everyone so fucking desperate to keep their privacy by avoiding to use google? If google got the best results I'm going to freakin use it not giving a shit if they get to know my browsing history as an exchange or know my real name and address. They only need it for targetted advertisments and statistics anyway. How the fuck does it matter? Privacy is dying, you won't be able to use worse third party alternatives trying to keep your data safe.

Yeah, I even can imagine that google is going to use that data they have for 'evil' plans too, they're fucking google after all. But what can they actually do to harm you noticably? How does your name and browsing history have any use to them other from the points I mentioned above? As long as you don't use it to join ISIS or google 'How to build a bomb cheap' they couldn't give less shits about you.

Keep using your 'safe' search engines and keep on trying to fight against the death of privacy as long as you can. But while you'll be doing that, I'll keep on using the services that offer the best results not giving a shit about being part of a botnet or having my data sold, I simply don't care.

Uhhh nuu my privacccyyyy, i dunt wanna usee murican botnet sooftweree

Hi /g/entoomen,

I'm currently in need to a tablet to read PDFs on (currently have a Paperwhite but 6" is not big enough to read scientific papers and grad books) so I was looking for options, found the Sony DPT-S1 but it's too expensive for a broke student. Any tablets that are good enough and cheaper?

I have a DPTS1 and I love it. Calibre lets me convert all my free epubs and mobis nicely to pdfs.

I also write my notes on it. So awesome.
>>
I was also looking for something like the Sony but the closest thing I could find was the Kobo Aura ONE, which has 7.8" display

Is it worth getting the Google Pixel Chromebook 2 if I have the money? It´s possible to get it for 500$ in Europe so im strongly thinking about it.
The display seems amazing and I already have a solid battlestation at home.

Just got home (and am posting from) purchasing a Lenovo Yoga 910. Did I do good /g/? I don't plan on doing much gaming on it but I do plan on doing some light video editing and office work on it.

Also, what d'yall recommend to install on this bad boy, it's got a clean install of W10 already on it, of course.

A female friend of mine is studying some kind of engineering, unno, mechanical or something, and they have a basic SE course.

- Boohoo, for this assignment they won't let me use Visual Studio 15, we are only allowed VS10. The other class are allowed 13.
- Are you really so stunted by IDE's that a different version cripples you?

She proceeded to argue with me for 10 minutes that C is an ancient language and learning to program starting with good habits and low level languages is a waste of time and all she should care about is the end product working.

How did this happen? How did we lose the art of good programming? How did making a polished product become so unimportant?

If you're going to make money either way, then the choice is clear. Cutting corners is easier.
>>
>>57451707
Why do they cut corners in education then? Jesus christ, they are doing to Programming what Subjective Aestheticism did to art a century ago.

Does your laptop have 2 drives?

I had this issue on a friends PC and after forever trying to solve it, it was fixed by unplugging the second drive.
