Are you mentally handicapped?
are external hdd's really that unreliable? I wanted to get some storage for my chinese cartoons and other stuff and I am uncertain which one to buy since all of them have some bad reviews saying that they break after some months
I was specifically looking at a 1tb WD Elements hdd and the toshiba canvio basics, are there better alternatives? I don't need a portable hdd, it's just that they are cheaper
>>60579029
They're shit. Don't bother.
My experience with external sata adaptors, they are very unreliable. The harddrive is usually fine as long as you don't move it while it is turned on.
Just buy an internal drive. If you need portability, buy a hard drive enclosure and pop your drive in

Not sure what private trackers are all about?

if anything, TehC incentivizes people NOT to seed. If you want people to download a torrent you're seeding, you want it to be FL, i.e. on seeder surge, i.e. less than five seeders. And if you want to download something, it's likely going to be on FL i.e. seeder surge, meaning less than five seeders. So what we end up with is a system that reaches homeostasis hovering just above 5 seeders. God forbid you actually want to share a movie, the best thing you can do is actually stop seeding so someone else can download from the remaining four people.

Speaking of autists, i just went to leddit and holy fuck they write essays. Somefag asked about a dead tracker and people wrote 300 word replies. The fucking autism
TehC also has an artificial traffic issue. Seedboxes circlejerking with sending BDMVs or ancient XviDs to each other has no purpose but to build buffer. Most people will probably dump all versions but one after a week anyway.

I didn't hear anything about not being allowed to create a UWP version of steam, I just figured it was because UWP is shit

Is it against the law to rip a cd onto your computer, and convert the wma file online so it can be played into Audacity? i dont plan on distributing it, but by converting it on some conversion website isnt that technically distributing it?
You basically answered your own question.
Even if it is, who actually cares
>>60578140
nigger no i didnt. im asking if it is technically distributing it even if im converting it on a website and not showing it to anyone

If you want to brute force the travelling salesman problem and you have 15 different cities, will this take 15^15 instruction cycles? Meaning it would take an intel i7 which can do 82,300 million instructions per second over 5 million seconds to compute?

I know this may be like. the fetus knowledge of technology, but. okay. How do I back up my laptop 100% as if i had all my shit, my user profile, my background. my files, every fucking thing onto an external hard drive? I have the hard drive but I don't want to JUST back up files. I want to back up my experience so if I lose/break this laptop while I'm away, I can plug in and continue without a hitch. How do?
I am using a Toshiba Satellite P55W-C2500X running Windows 10 (I know, but I got used to it. CBB to change it).

GTK or Qt?
>>60577245
Tkinter.
>>60577245
GTK is trash but looks better on most Linux themes, Qt is 1000 times better but looks slightly worse. Pick your poison.
>>60577245
GTK look like ass if it's not on linux, almost default swing theme tier bad.
Qt is packed with features and look alright but not completely, it's even more true with Qt quick. It's also a huge pain to compile(dunno about gtk).
I personally use and enjoy Qt.
I just finished renovating and want to set up media server under TV, mostly for photo storage.
I will have only a single 2TB drive for storage - what OS to use with it? Pirated winblows, loonix, or hardcore shit like freenas?
Also a thought just popped in my mind - can't encryption be disabled in OS by some policy? Because as I understand - WannaCry used windows encyption API and your own cpu to encrypt your stuff. Can't you just proactively disable it alltogether? I have no need for file encryption whatsoever.
