actually it seems we did get patreanon last time but these threads are starting to lose steam. Well, to be expected, I'm surprised it got as much traction as it did past Toedad but Ruth's plotline kinda fizzled out and Joyce is literally driving in circles getting nothing done

Overrated but still very good. I'm not quite sure why something like this had people clamoring for a Best Feature Film animation whereas 9 was considered a huge disappointment not worth talking about when, in my eyes, they had a lot of the same strengths and weaknesses. A cynical part of me wants to say "lack of love story in the latter."

When it was originally made with just North America in mind, it was allowed to have a more grounded tone. When it blew up in popularity right afterward and they wanted it to have global far-reaching appeal is when it took such a sharp drop.
