Are they kryptonians?
>>84365312
No.
Ultra Vision makes me think they were eaten, but not digested, by a space whale.
>>84365329
Ultra vision makes me hope they harvested Ultraman's tears before he died and used that dna to make super beings
Superbro?
>one of something is super strong
>a lot of that same thing is super weak jobbers that get beat with 1 hit.
fucking why? god i hate this trope so fucking much.
remember in justice league: war how the single parademon gave green lantern and batman a fuckton of trouble the first time they saw one, but by the end, when darkseid invaded and there were thousands of them green lantern and batman were just mowing them down?
why is this allowed? its stupid as fuck.
Conservation of Ninjitsu
It's a stupid trope.
>>84365261
im trying to think of a single thing where the hero doesn't, or rather, cant, just mow down dozens of nameless jobbers effortlessly as a way to show how much cooler and stronger they are.
also, why are the 'special, stronger' enemies always defined by some special apperence, like they dont wear helmets, or have some special armor despite not being a different rank than all the nobodys around them.
can anyone think of ANYTHING where the main character can't easily overpower all nameless enemies? where random guys are as much of a threat as anybody else, like in real life?
the only thing i can think of is like a drama, where action isn't the main focus and the main character could get beat up by a couple of random goons.
>>84365132
Group fighting is easier for the single guy where he can do big showy stuff while all the others might hit a friend?
>>84365033
It probably just activated his x-gene
It didnt, he is actually a telepath and he makes people think he is running fast
How'd it give Vision lasers? Infinity Gem, ain't examining shit.
So uh do you think theyd really make a lego marvel vs dc
>>84364500
I am so sick of lego games
>>84364500
No.
But they should. That'd be fun as fuck.
>>84364500
Lego Dimensions.
Is there a cartoon character stronger than Yakko?
And I’m referring to Yakko Warner with the giant and woody mallet (with the turning people into pancakes ability) equipped with his belt and control of two paddleballs at once, a complete water tower, with baloney sausage implanted in his slacks so he can perform "Goodnight, everybody!" and HELLOOOO NURSE release ninjutsu as well as being extremely skilled in being zany to the max and making innuendos.

Yes. Yes, there is.
I don’t know why people complain so much about life at Gotham City, I’ve been living there for 6 months now, I love my job at Wayne Enterprises, and to this day I have never been mugged or anything.
Nor I have seen any proof of existence of that supposed “Batman” everyone talks so much about.

Fuck off, Joker, you're not fooling any of us.

Anon, don't be an ass! The OP is sharing good will...

What do you propose as an alternative?
>comics and cartoons
Do people not enjoy classic cartooning anymore? It seems like we don't get that many products with really wacky, cartoony characters who actually push their poses and make really big, exaggerated faces. Even stuff like Uncle Grandpa was wacky but painfully on-model.
They Mickey shorts are amazing, why can't we get more stuff like that? Clearly it can be done on a tv budget because Wander Over Yonder pulled it off.
>>84362751
You would love Wander Over Yonder. It's the closest thing to Looney Tunes out there.
>>84363477
did you even read the OP post?
The reason that stopped is because of the switch to digital. It's way cheaper to do everything with tweens then to to hand drawn transitions between unique poses.
If a modern studio wants to do a crazy reaction face, it's going to be a single still frame.
Guys ive gotten to the point where im about to give up on this company. I barely enjoy any of the comics they have put out in the last few years and i used to read almost everything. If it wasn't for Ewing and Duggan i probably would have stopped completely already anybody else feeling the same here?

Fuckin stupid.
>>84362323
I pirate both Moon Knight, which is just serviceable, and The Punisher, which is so bad it's depressing but I like the character so I'll probably stick it out until it become outright unbearable.
But yeah Marvel is irredeemable now.
How does /co/ feel about African superheroes or African-inspired speculative fiction at all?
If they're works of quality, I dig it. I wish more would get attention.I'm familiar with Asian and Anglo spec fiction not so much with that of African people.
>>84363206
>I'm familiar with Asian and Anglo spec fiction not so much with that of African people.
That's what I've been thinking about.
Thing about Asian and Western speculative fiction, they're ultimately steeped in Asian and Western culture standards, values, and philosophy. If you look at a lot of American superheroes, you'll find heroes constructed around American values that have been ingrained in our country since its inception. But if you look at these African superheroes in fiction, like Black Panther or Vixen (though I love them), they're not as influenced by African culture as they should be. They're ultimately Western. And it's not just superheroes, it's fiction in general.
I was just thinking about this over the past few days. That's what really excites me about Afrofuturism. It's not just a setting or some vaguely African aesthetics (though the aesthetics really intrigue me as well), it's examining science fiction or fantasy through an African lens.
It just sucks for me because there really aren't a whole lot of works that really do that sort of thing.
>>84363938
What is an African lens, though?
I doubt it's all homogeneous.

>mfw I see it your way for the first time
Does anyone else feel that this idea would have been better served if they had done a "mythology is real" thing and instead of having yet another person with Superman's powers, they had introduced Sun Wukong? He fits the idea of a Chinese Superman much better, he has a place in their culture, and he fits some of Superman's themes ("I can do lots of things"/god among men) without feeling like a copy/paste done purely for a gimmick. They already have Greek gods, why not others? Or would DC not want to use a public domain character they can't control?
>>84360161
it's about marketing
DC believes they can sell more with another iteration of an established name/image than going with a new character. This really shouldn't be confusing for you if you've been reading comics for any amount of time.
>>84360161
>Or would DC not want to use a public domain character they can't control?
It wouldn't work that way. Other people could use Sun Wukong, sure, but they couldn't make him Superman, and in fact, if they'd gone that route, unless someone else had made him a superhero before, they might be able to claim anyone who made him a superhero was ripping them off.
>>84360280
I think OP was asking what if they'd just stuck Sun Wukong in the Superman costume and made him the Superman of China.
Let's talk about supporting casts.
Which are the best ones?
Which are the worst?
Which could be improved and how?
Favorite supporting characters?
Supporting characters you never want to see again?
And most of all, is anyone NOT sick of how EVERY character now has to be a fucking superhero and no one can hang out with regular people anymore?
dumping best supporting character ever

I really loved it. Do you have favorite parts or episodes you want to discuss? Any questions or theories you want to share?
Notable problem problem is some of the Bluray releases (from Australia) are a bit washed out for color, while some of the iTunes episodes are too dark. But that's a technical thing.
Also I guess the sound track is coming out soon, so great!
