People say Superman is too dark and depressing in the new films, but I think its more that Superman himself isn't dark, he's put in modern times. We live in a post 9/11 world where people fear and hate illegal aliens, love to complain, are overly sensitive, and the media will say anything to get attention even if it means bending the truth and even then just to push their own political agenda. Superman, especially in BvS tries to be the Superman we know but the world around him won't let him, because of it's own preconceived notions and prejudices. Eventually, all the cynicism starts to get to him, as it would anybody. He's SuperMAN. At the end of the day, he's just a man, not immune to feelings. Getting shat on constantly even though you've done nothing but help would get anyone down after awhile.
Its the same character as always, in a diferent, more cynic world
Yes, it's Superman confronted with an overtly cynical world. It might be """""realistic""""" but it's boring as fuck and doesn't suit the character for shit.
It looks like a 14 years' old vision of "Supes vs the actual real world, yo".
Leave that shit to X-Men.

>Superman, especially in BvS tries to be the Superman we know but the world around him won't let him, because of it's own preconceived notions and prejudices.
He literally tried to mindlessly save people without putting any further thought into the consequences of his behavior.
Which sounds noble until you realize he seemingly never talked to a single person about what his actual intentions were.
The more "real" Superman is made, the more it pokes holes in the logic of why he never helps with large scale construction projects like building canals or waste disposal by which he could help millions more people then by saving a few from a collapsing building.
Is this the worst /co/ related casting of all time?
Everything about the first GI Joe movie was totally awesome fuck you
Actually i take it back, they could've done a lot better by Baroness.
>>87495279
Cavill or Gadot or Eisenberg
>>87495279
Channing Tatum in that same film was way worse.
Did Bendis ever explain how Cyclops got his name cleared after attacking the Avengers, being Dark Phoenix, and breaking out of prison?
>>87494898
He didn't. He was wanted by SHIELD and shit.
>>87495700
ok, so how'd he keep SHIELD off his ass?
>>87495909
By hiding.
>Go on catalog

>No Mighty Magiswords thread
I'm curious, what does /co/ think of this show?
I see a ton of potential in this but my main issue is that the pacing is really fast. That and there's barely any porn of the older sister
I guess a Mighty Magiswords thread.
>>87493681
It is a fun show that knows what all cartoons SHOULD be focusing on
- pure comedy
not wasting time on MUHFEELS or DEEPESTLORE
finally a new cartoon that does not suck
>>87493812
I enjoy it, and I don't think it deserves a lot of the shit that it gets, but that's just like, you're opinion man.
People are allowed to like a variety of things for a variety of emotional needs.

>The 15th image in your reaction folder is how the big 2 react to your comic pitch.
So, how did it go?
THEY BOUGHT IT AND PAID IN COCAINE!
Now that the dust has settled, can we agree that this was painfully mediocre to bad save for art?
Also a Flash comics discussion thread I guess
>>87492720
You didn't need the "Dust to settle." Everyone said exactly what you're saying while it was still coming out.
>>87492873
dunno, i started reading flash with this book and everyone was sucking manabooch dick big time back then.
but now i'm re-reading it, and it doesn't hold up anymore, especially after waid and johns
I was under the impression that Flash Rebirth isn't much better atm... but I'd love to be proven wrong since I haven't taken the time to look at it at all aside from #9
Why did they call in "Champions"?
They finally had a solid foundation to create a non-X teen hero book and they sabotage it with this generic as fuck title that likely won't stick with the next reboot, before the team is completely forgotten about
>>87492201
You know, I do wonder why. They tried in the past to use that title but another company was using it (and technically still is). Did they have to pay for the title?
Because they got the rights to use the name Champions again and wanted a way to clearly distinguish this from Avengers
>>87492201
Branding and recognition
Marvel gets to keep the name "Champions" under their belt, and they have the previous team to build comparisons to.
The opening scene of Dr Strange was a brilliant example of "anti-exposition."
The normal expodump has characters saying shit they already know for the audience to learn, but this scene was the reverse.
We see The Ancient One and Mads doing reality warping stuff in and out the mirror dimension but we don't know this a sign of Dark Magic until the end of the second act.
They even make sure to have TAO keep her hood up so we dont ser Dormammu's sign on her forhead.
Then in the training montage TAO shows Steve the mirror trap trick and in the second act battle it backfires while Mordo explains the Dark Dimension lets you warp Mirro space.
So then when we finally see TAO in her final battle, while its nothing we didnt see before, the context and the reveal to Mordo makes it all come together.
A twist where done of the core elememts actually comes from nowhere and flows organically from the plot.
Bravo.
>>87492154
TAO was cooler than I thought she'd be.
>>87492347
She was also pretty endearing. I felt bad for liking her so much because of the whole whitewashing thing.
There were multiple times I thought TAO wassuper qtand i am very conflicted about it.
>>87492428
there was a good interview with the director where he was very upfront about "we were totally screwed with that no matter what"
Redesign thread
>>87491769
Civil War suit with reflective eyes? I dig it.
Why is all marvel concept art better than the end product?
Is the company really THAT incompetent? Every redesign I see is superior.
>>87491824
The material of the suit also looks different.
Fuck you /co/. Be Cool Scooby Doo is amazing. If it wasn't for the animation and designs , you'd like it.
>If it wasn't for the animation and designs, you'd like it.
You are saying this about a VISUAL FUCKING MEDIUM, OP.
>>87491590
If you get over yourselves and just watch a few episodes, you'll see the writing and music is good, and it doesn't follow the nuPowerPuffs or TTG style of reboots
What's the best scooby series?
Tesseract
H
Aether
Necklace
Orb
Spear
>>87489586
You mean scepter. Bravo on pointing out something that's been getting consistently pointed out for years now, though. I bet you're really proud of yourself.
>>87489586
> H is the only one missing
> Most likely in Thor
tfw it's Mjolnir
>>87489755
oh fug
What is it that makes them so much better than Marvel?
Is... Is this bait?
