Remember when this show was funny?
Was Batman Beyond too horrifying?
>>91761561
Didn't Static Shock do this too? Where a villain fell to the center of the Earth? Or am I crazy
>>91761561
It was beyond horrifying

I had nightmares about the Splicers and Lost Soul episodes as a kid.

He just fell through a parking lot.
Best Marvel legacy character ever.

Will DC allow them to grow up?

DC lets characters grow, but usually puss out when push come to shove.

Nobody cared about the premise in the first place. It wasn't something anyone really wanted to see even if it weren't uncanny valley shit.

Homura's affection toward Madoka seems to go beyond the normal boundaries of friendship. Homura wasn't just content with saving Madoka's life or stopping her fate, she also wanted her feelings for Madoka to be reciprocated and acknowledged by her (as seen in Episode 11). For each cycle that Homura created, their relationship became more alienated and distant, causing despair on Homura's part (as it was demonstrated briefly in Episode 8). Yet, regardless of Madoka's feelings toward Homura, she was willing to sacrifice anything for Madoka's sake, absent of any rewards, take any risks against all odds, driven to repeat an endless cycle of personal loss and suffering, and willing to hurt the feelings of other people (including Madoka's) to attain her goal. Now that's just quaking crazy!
IT'S DISGUSTING

>Marvel Comics is kicking off a new initiative this fall titled Legacy that will "embrace our roots and move enthusiastically forward" in aaccording to Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada.
>Announced during the "Marvel's Next Big Thing" panel at Chicago's C2E2 2017 on Saturday, Legacy 's "bold new direction" will begin with an 50-page Marvel Legacy #1 one-shot by Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic that will feature "the Earth-shattering return of a beloved Marvel mainstay" (cue Fantastic Four speculation now) and will continue through with the publisher's long-running titles reverting to their original series or "classic legacy" numbering.
>“The Marvel Legacy initiative is a celebration of everything that makes Marvel the best in fiction and it’s a signifier of a new era for Marvel Comics,” said Quesada. “It’s a loving look at the heart of Marvel as we embrace our roots and move enthusiastically forward with all the Marvel characters you know and love starring in the biggest, boldest, best Marvel stories. All of which kicks off with the giant Marvel Legacy special.”
>While emphasizing the storied past of the Marvel Universe, the publisher is also mixing in newer characters as well.
>"From there, the Marvel Legacy initiative spreads out across the Marvel Universe, showcasing epic storylines hearkening back to the glory days of Marvel starring Odinson, Squirrel Girl, Spider-Man, the Avengers, America Chavez, Iron Man, Moon Knight, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel, Luke Cage, the X-Men, Captain America, Ms. Marvel, Deadpool, the Champions, Wolverine, Ironheart, Hulk, The Punisher and so many more!"
>The publisher said that Legacy will encompass the entire Marvel Universe, promsing "blockbuster new storylines" and its renumbered titles coming with "a renewed sense of hope, wonder, enjoyment and fun!"
>Marvel's Legacy initiative expands beyond just the stories and the issue numbers on the front cover, as the publisher plans to revive ancillary elements from its past such as the Marvel Value Stamp, the fan magazine FOOM, and corner box art on covers.
>Marvel said to expect information on the titles and their creative teams for both new and continuing series to be announced in the next few months.

This thing is going to cost $5.99 and not be returnable by retailers, isn't it?

>with the publisher's long-running titles reverting to their original series or "classic legacy" numbering
Honestly this alone is worth it. I miss seeing big ass numbers on the covers of capeshit. I'm sure they'll totally fuck up the count for a lot of big titles, but oh well.
Can't wait for all of the 'diverse' legacy heroes to crash as a result.
>just because R&M is liked by Redditors doesn't mean it's a Reddit show!
I wouldn't say it's just that. Its combination of easily digestible 'faux geeky' science tropes, catch phrase humor, 'snappy' comeback dialogue, blatant pandering to nihilists, and 'random' humor makes it a reddit show. Naturally redditors love it, of course
Anyone else feel the same way?

>I hate superheroes. I think they're abominations. They don't mean what they used to mean. They were originally in the hands of writers who would actively expand the imagination of their nine- to 13-year-old audience. That was completely what they were meant to do and they were doing it excellently. These days, superhero comics think the audience is certainly not nine to 13, it's nothing to do with them. It's an audience largely of 30-, 40-, 50-, 60-year old men, usually men. Someone came up with the term graphic novel. These readers latched on to it; they were simply interested in a way that could validate their continued love of Green Lantern or Spider-Man without appearing in some way emotionally subnormal. This is a significant rump of the superhero-addicted, mainstream-addicted audience.
Was he right?
Yes.
Well keep in mind that he made this quote before the wave of over-saturation of comic book media made superheroes conventionally popular again. Now the audience is mostly immature and dim-witted 20-somethings.
>>91755101
Yes, and that's why you should be reading manga if you're interested in the true spirit of cartoons and comic books.
>Coming after Generations is "Legacy," a plan to renumber titles with their original series numbers.
>An oversized Marvel Legacy special will kick things off. It is written by Jason Aaron with art by Esad Ribic.
>Legacy deals with "past, present, and future" said Aaron. The "past" portion will meet the prehistoric Avengers.
>Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers, Black Panther, and Guardians of the Galaxy are all part of Legacy.
>"I promise you come the end of 2017, you'll be saying Make Mine Marvel," said D'Lando.
>>91755038
>prehistoric Avengers.
wot
Creative teams are all that matter. If the editorial is the same, and the writers are the same, I don’t care a bit.
Of course, the direct market will eat it up. I predict these will sell better than Rebirth, if they manage to pull off the marketing. Now, whether they manage to keep sales up...

Why?
Why have the best live-action Marvel villains all been from TV shows?
>>91753269
Tennant is terrible.
>>91753269
Kingpin was pretty good but I think Legion's SK was actually far more interesting than the real SK
>>91753349
SK's design was goofy to me at first but after seeing him completely show up on screen he was legitimately unnerving.
What are the Batman villains that still dont have their essential story told (see: The Killing Joke for Joker etc)
Also Knightfall is garbage so yes, Bane doesnt have one either
