/co/, I've been in jail since 1993. Got out on Monday.
#1. What the fuck happened to comic books? This is true, the same place I went when I was a kid is still open and I can't believe how shitty everything I looked at was when I went there today. I walked out with nothing.
#2. My favorite used to be Uncanny X-Men, can you recommend something from the last 24 years I should read?
This issue of Spawn was the last comic book I bought before I went in.

It looks like DC Comics is prepared to steal Marvel's thunder on diversity.
Diversity dominated a panel discussion this week as DC co-publishers Jim Lee and Dan DiDio were pressed on issues regarding race and gender.
“Growing up, when I was drawing a crowd scene, I was just filling crowd scenes with white people. Why? Cause I’m a white person and I know how to draw white people," Capullo explained. "But you walk down the street in Manhattan, and you see everybody there, so as I matured, you notice the world is all of this."
The panel came on the cusp of Marvel's vice president of sales David Gabriel's shocking comments. “Any character that was diverse, any character that was new, our female characters, anything that was not a core Marvel character, people were turning their nose up,” he said of recent Marvel comic sales.
The company's upcoming shift back to complete whiteness and heteronormativity should come as no surprise: Marvel CEO Ike Perlmutter donated $1 million to Donald Trump in 2016.

It's such a criminally underused setting. I think that one of its biggest problems is instead of inverting the moralities of characters while keeping them recognisable, it just turns everyone into the same bland psychopath.
Also, barely anyone but the Crime Syndicate ever show up, and even then they nearly always die.
But there's so much potential for interesting stories, even without crossing over to the main world.
Which inverted characters would you like to see? What are your headcanons about it?

I've always kind of appreciated that they're all just psychos. Evil Justice League with the same personalities would come off too serious and lose the sense of fun that Earth 3 stories have.
Like Ultraman is fantastic. Just an absolute blowhard piece of shit who's also Superman.

I met Ramon Perez at C2E2 yesterday, and got some real depressing shit.

Also, something slightly more uplifting, I asked one of the guys at Marvel's panel today if there were plans for Rich. Apparently, everyone at Marvel loves Rich (and Sam too), and he was very much brought back for a reason, and there are plans for him.

It's a real pity. I don't usually read cosmic marvel, but I read this book. It was quite good and fun to read, with a lovely dynamic between an adult with some heavy baggage and a kid with the usual problems of a teen, and both of them were silly at times.
It felt right and even had nice action in there.
