I wish Mako was back from the dead to voice Aku in the new Samurai Jack season

Your wish is granted. Mako Iwamatsu lives again. He is ripped from the infinite peace of the afterlife and forced back into his sickness-riddled body- a body that cannot die again, because your wish specified that he continue to live to voice Aku in the new Samurai Jack project.
And he does. Do you know what actually killed Mako, anon? Esophageal cancer. Extremely painful, in its late stages. Eating and drinking are very difficult, let alone talking. But he does it anyway. He does the Aku voice, even though it causes him excruciating pain. He has no choice- these were the terms of your wish, and he won't be free from this agony until he fulfills his magically-compelled obligation.
All throughout the recording sessions, he is haunted by the memory of the afterlife. The peace, the painlessness- it makes everything seem small. It makes living people and their concerns seem petty. In addition to living in agony for every waking moment, he finds he can no longer relate to people who haven't been dead. Even the meetings he attends for survivors of near-death experiences aren't much help. After all, he can tell when someone is lying about it just for attention, and even when he can't, he's not totally sure everyone's experience in the afterlife is the same.
His only hope for reprieve is to finish the job. Just finish it, and then he's free. The day finally comes to show the completed reel to Turner Broadcasting.
They love it. They love it so much that they order five seasons.
They want more focus on Aku. Maybe even a redemption arc. A 10 year plan for the series and its potential spinoffs is hastily devised. Mako weeps.
But hey, it really is a GREAT show.

>I wish there were more Monkey Paw threads
What's /co/'s thoughts on this guy?
>>91836015
Baymax people.
>>91836015
I feel like this needed to be workshopped a lot more.
also the art is shit, real tired of the "character design is hard, I'm just gonna draw blobs" bullshit.
>>91836015
>pun
nah nigga, hard pass
generic gag a day webcomics are a dime a dozen, you have to do better than that
What makes American animation better (or worse) than Japanese?
>>91936890
Culture and talent.
>>91936890
It's better because they have higher budgets and greater creative talent pool to draw from. They're worse because there is very little variety with most cartoon falling under the usual slap-stick comedy formula. Anime has much more diverse content but suffers from poor animation and higher amount of crap.
Also, anime tent to have rigid continuity compared to cartoons so the greater emphasis on plot/characters makes for more memorable/entertaining works. That's based on preferences though.
>>91936890
Anime has so much more diversity in terms of shows it isn't even funny. There's stuff ranging from action/adventure to comedy to horror to pretty much anything. It's the biggest thing that Western animation is lacking right now. Everything basically needs to be a comedy and while many shows have other elements in them they are at their core trying to make you laugh. I honestly don't really think Western animation does anything objectively better than anime right now other than not working the animators to death.

So then stop giving it to us OP.

Ray-sh or Raaz?
Rayshh
It is arabic and the correct pronunciation in arabic is Raas, so its Raas or Raaz
George.
This could be one of the worst performances i've heard it a long while
I like it, but ok.
Well why did they get Jaspers voice actor for a British sounding dainty princess?
>>91835341
I read this thread as you complaining that Allura has bad BO, now I'm really disappointed.
What does /co/ think of this short?
https://youtu.be/H46Kil1k-m8
technically proficient. Music choice seemed odd
>>91834954
Pretty good, even though the style is very not-Pixar.
Oddly though, it feels very video gamey for some reason, like it's actually a trailer for some metroidvania type thing. I'd play the hell out of it too.
>>91834954
If the goal was to make CG animation look like old school stop motion like Laika, they did a damn good job matching up the texture style and so forth
Can we talk about Weird Mystery/Horror Comics? I've been intrigued with the art and have read a little of EC Comics stuff by Jack Kamen, but I want to delve a little deeper. Pre-Code stuff in particular but anything goes.
>>91834927
bump. i wanna see some shit
>>91834927
Not sure what there is to say really.
Most of the EC suspense/horror/sci-fi comics are worth reading.
>>91834927
I recommend reading this. It's new but has that old school feel.

Is this the most forgettable superhero movie ever? Not even two months later and nobody is talking about it.
Pretty much. I didn't think it was as great as people were saying.
You could toss it in with the rest of the capeshit shovelware like Fant4stic, Amazing Spiderman 1&2, Suicide Squad, and more.
>>91834921
I thought it was pretty good. I do agree that it's overrated, though.
What does /co/ think of the Arkham series?
>>91936090
Too much Joker. I know he's Batman's main villain, but for fuck's sake does he have to be the main villain every time?
It's even worse when you have things like "This is the first time Batman meets Hugo Strange." and then Strange doesn't even matter to the story because muh Joker.
>>91936090
Love Asylum and City. Even had fun with Origins, but I cannot for the life of me enjoy Knight. Plus, as much as I love them in their respective roles, these games convinced me Conroy and Hamill were getting too old for them.
As someone who's spent hundreds of hours playing each of the games, I can say the RS developed ones are some of the most expertly designed games I've played in my entire life. Knight continues this, the combat design and the predator system are just leagues beyond anything coming out these days.
From every other point, however, they've been ruined by how fucking ridiculously overblown the video game industry is now. You just can't feel any kind of personal touch anymore because Knight is developed by like 500 fucking people. All of the story stuff is all this high-concept big picture crap you get when you have like three people writing the game in their own corner without input from the rest of the office.
And then you have all the stupid executive marketing crap. Gotta make the Batmobile be covered in canons because idiots won't be able to drive three feet without wishing they were playing a shooting game, gotta have the plot be BIG and IMPORTANT, gotta make everyone look like a tacticool dumbass out of a 90's comic, and on and on.
I wish there could be a game with the gameplay scope of Knight, but the story scope of Asylum. Imagine if instead of putting so much time into the ridiculous setpieces of the main plot, all that focus went into making the sidequests, and then there was just some narrative tissue tying them together.
Games are just Hollywood 2: Electric Boogaloo now.
Alright guys, the best dcu character had a rocky start with a shitty movie. How do we fix his movie and make him a member of the league again?
I'd say reboot it keep hal and just make the first movie about space exploration and training; leading to sinestro's betrayal towards the end instead of a teaser.
>>91834619
Buddy cop film, all three main laterns, make most of it in space on alien worlds, make it about Hal struggling between protecting earth and helping the corps with the rest of space, make him have to choose between earth or space, and love interest vs corpsman, what is Hal of earth or Hal of the corps
>>91834765
>all three main laterns
Who are you excluding? Kyle?
>>91834792
Guy, john and Hal
Soooooo....... This is a thing now??
Ads in comic books have been a thing for quite a while, yes.
When did they start printing them sideways?
>>91834547
unfortunately
there's a reason everyone hates DC
Has it happened to you yet, /co/?
No, I was never with it.
>>91934388
Nope.
Still youngish. 22 isn't old, right?
>>91934388
nope
What do you think of this pic?

The autistic side in me finds it really stupid how there were supposedly no human wars yet the world seems to have evolved exactly the way it is now, including Asia's output of technology and America outsourcing all their cartoons to Korea.
The millennial sees the N64 and can only think of nostalgic fanboys who think their old consoles were somehow the best when shit like the Switch is inherently better just because it's more powerful, more convenient, less limiting to other hardware, and when the e-shop opens you'll have access to old games as well. Anyone who longs to go back to the days of the 90's seems to have forgotten what life was before Google, Netflix, and live TV guide that every cable company has now.
>>91834572
Well, that went off the rails pretty quickly.
