>Lotus Entertainment and Paperchase Films are teaming with financier and executive producer Marco Vicini to produce Superman vs. the KKK, a film adaptation of Rick Bowers’ 2012 YA nonfiction book.
>Bowers’ book (full title: Superman Versus The Ku Klux Klan: The True Story of How the Iconic Superhero Battled the Men of Hate) chronicled the creation of a real-life 1946 radio drama in which Superman took on a thinly-veiled version of the actual Klan. The book will be adapted for the screen by Katherine Lindberg.
>The team describes the movie plot as chronicling a former Klan member who goes undercover in 1946 Atlanta and works with the Anti-Defamation League and the producer of the Superman radio show. “Fighting the forces of evil with brain over brawn, artists taking down bullies and the power of a good piece of content, it’s a real case of truth being cooler than fiction,” said producer Marc Rosen.

So it's a documentary, not actually Superman beating up the KKK.

can it be both?

>Fighting the forces of evil with brain over brawn
No, it can't.
>Owe you for what? They’re giving you thousands of hours of entertainment for free. What could they possibly owe you? If anything, you owe them.
>here's some ads to watch, since the companies buying ad space is the only reason we broadcast "free", since our viewers time doesn't cost US anything
>boy, it sure is nice to be able to not have to do hard labor or customer service jobs
>I get to hang around celebs and get paid loads of money
>I'M DOING THIS JUST AS A FAVOR TO THE VIEWERS, THEY SHOULD BE THANKFUL
This whole argument is crap. 95% of artists don't make art they want, they make what they are hired to make. By working this job, they get paid, and thus can make a living that doesn't involve flipping burgers or pumping gas. Given how many people work as garbagemen to pay the bills, you think these artists would be more appreciative of being able to work a relatively easy job. Instead...
>Everyone owes me for my generosity!
This is the nice thing about recessions, many non-essential workers get cut(guess where artists sit?) They are always so much more appreciative of work after spending months on welfare.

Isn't it weird how they killed Gothel from Tangled who was probably one of the least evil Disney villians, but afterwards spared villians from Frozen, Big Hero 6 and Zootopia who did far worse shit than kidnapping a girl?
Even her death itself is treated like happy ending and Rapunzel doesn't seem to be affected by death of somebody who raised her alone for 18 years
Sparing the villain and rescuing his daughter was the worst punishment he could receive.
Everything he did, he ostensibly did in her name. And now she's alive to see him as a murderer and monster, and he realizes nothing he's done was justified.
His daughter is going to hate him. He's lost her a second time, but now there's no one he can blame but himself. Food for thought as he rots in prison the rest of his natural life.
>>91942082
>>91942039
It was doubly weird since they had to go out of their way to kill her - and because making her live as an old woman would be a far greater punishment for her.

>SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING - Test-screenings have been very positive so far. Angourie Rice is playing Gwen Stacy. Logan Marshall-Green is playing Jackson Brice. Donald Glover is playing Hobie Brown. The Vulture doesn't die and there are plans to bring Michael Keaton back further down the line.

He then returns to Earth to recruit the Avengers to help him fight Thanos.
>BLACK PANTHER - Just wrapped filming. It's a standalone movie and it's more serious, in the same vein as "Captain America: The Winter Soldier". Sebastian Stan makes an appearance as Bucky Barnes.
>ANT-MAN & THE WASP - Gearing up for production. It's standalone and set simultaneously to "Avengers: Infinity War". Same humorous tone as the first movie. JulIianne Moore is in early talks to play the original Wasp, Janet Van Dyne. Jared Harris is in advanced talks to play the main villain.

The heroes manage to retreat back to Earth, defeated, but refuse to give up and decide to assemble an army to stop Thanos.
>AVENGERS 4 - Pre-production. The culmination of the entire MCU so far and the final battle against Thanos.Numerous characters will die, but some of these deaths will be reverted at the end of the movie through the Infinity Stones. The most notable permanent deaths are Captain America and Odin, setting up Bucky becoming Captain America and Thor becoming king of Asgard. Iron Man will retire but the door will be left open for future appearances.
>PHASE 4 - Early development, therefore subjected to change. There are talks about separating upcoming movies between Cosmic Marvel and Earth Marvel and having each pocket follow their own overarching storylines, although nothing quite as ambitious as the Infinity Saga. The Russos and James Gunn will be creative consultants throughout the whole process. "Doctor Strange 2", "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" and the "Spider-Man: Homecoming" sequel are givens. There are plans for "Captain America 4", "Thor 4" and "Ant-Man 3" as well as "Nova" and "Thunderbolts". Sequels to "Black Panther" and "Captain Marvel" are also expected.

That's how I know it's bullshit
It still infuriates me to think all this could have been avoided had Stark simple turned off Jarvis or disconnected the magic stick while he and Bruce left the room. And even if they were close to a break through, they would clearly see the programming was unpredictable and uncontrollable so why did they feel it was a good idea to leave it connected to a super computer? Even if Tony was that confident Jarvis would serve as a fire wall, that's would be retarded because he admitted he had no idea what this alien technology was capable of besides potential artificial intelligence.
What the fuck was this idiot thinking?
>>91839261
T.Bucky
>>91839261
It's likely he was just incredibly arrogant and that fucked him over. I mean, who expects one's systems to become hacked when they're defended by Jarvis? I'm sure Jarvis had a preemptive firewall put around Ultron, but that he used some hidden power to get through it.
It's not like Thanos is going to let some Earth-level encryption/firewall stop his doomsday AI from doing its thing.

Gross.
Honestly I would feel a lot safer with them. There are too many awful villains and monsters that need to die or be lobotomized.
I love the no kill rule but it is ruined by the need of writers to parade the same villains out again and again. It makes the no kill rule impossible to defend. No one stays locked up or reforms except for Harley.

Why do you like comic books? I absolutely loath reading them.
I liked reading them as a kid at my uncles place since he had loads of old spiderman, x-men, spawn and batman comics etc etc, but nowadays its almost insufferable for me to pick one up whether it be physically or digitally. I much prefer animated movies when it comes to capeshit
I like the medium, I also don't just care about the superhero stories.
>>91838656
I have a thing for rule 34 cape shit.
Not sure. It's got something to do with the intermarriage of visual and textual elements and how fun and interesting it is to experiment in the comic book medium. There's no inherent sound to a comic book, for example, but you can do sound in comic books a million times better than you can in pure text. It's the way of, I almost want to call it cheating, the using the tools/language (meant in more than just the words) to play around with sound, pacing, shock, time, even the comic as a physical object.
I always thought of myself as a book-reading kid first but now I'm an adult and look back I've been reading comics my whole goddamn life. I learnt to read with comics. I watch about every film that comes out good-or-bad too but animated stuff actually often bores me. It's much more strict with linearity, pacing, movement than a comic is, and much more expensive, so I find the quality overall is diluted and you're much more likely to get really bold, striking visuals and experiments in the comic format than the animated one. If you even look at something like Ketchup Ninja that's basically a comic that has all the important bits it would have in animation: but if it really were animated it would have more dross too. The one thing I'll concede to animation is it does little visuals asides better, especially when they're supposed to be happening simultabeously.
