No clue. It's one of the weirdest marketing decisions made in cartoon adaption history, but the answer is probably as simple as that style was more hip in the 90s and the Eggman design was more Japanese. A more expressive villain from a western standpoint hit the proper demographics.

My local comicbook store is doing give aways for the first 20 people in line. While I'd like to be the first third (They get alot) in line that's probably not gonna happen. What are the chances that I'm one of the first 20? When should I go? Should I wait overnight? I've never done this before. Also FCBD general. What are you picking up?
