Is there a less spicy version of Sriracha? I love the flavor but it just has too much of a kick for me.
>>8721049
Sriracha is the least spicy pepper sauce there is, if it's too hot for you, you might as well give up on peppers altogether.
Mix it with ketchup and a few tablespoons of sugar.

Wouldn't certain types of mustard of horseradish be considered a less spicy version?
Do I actually need to refridgerate hard cheeses like Cheddar? I've heard they don't need to be in the fridge. How long would a block of it last if I left it wrapped up in the pantry? Would this have any effect on the flavor?
>>8721041
It's going to become pretty soft and very oily which isn't exactly the most pleasant way to enjoy cheese.

He's referring to tyrosine amino acids found in cheese.

The pulled pork and Chili-Cheese Schnitzel actually look great.
Never had a meatball sandwich in my life!
Not sure why, cause I like to make all kinds of sandwiches.
Am I missing out?
No.
>>8720883
dude it's just ball shaped ground beef on bread, the tomato sauce may make it a little better but generally it's just that.
Plain and simple food combination, you aren't missing something delightful
>>8720883
It's a shitty food. There's no good way to eat it. Balls do not belong between slices of bread.
Béarnaise is the greatest steak sauce in the world.

inb4 purist faggots ruin the thread by insisting NO TRUE STEAK should have a sauce

I love Bernaise. I tried to find some today for my steak but no luck so I opted for a peppercorn dijon
So what do you guys think of buckwheat? How often do you have it?
My family's from West Virginia and there's this little place called Sandie's that serves buckwheat cakes and oh my fucking god that's some of the best breakfast food I've ever had. The batter has vinegar in it and it sits over night in the fridge. They make em thin. Great with runny eggs and maple syrup.
>>8720719
as with most grains (yes, I know it's not an actual grain), it's delicious, but I prefer barley and only eat buckwheat on occasions

Tacos. 22 seconds per side for the shells. Ground beef browned, drained and seasoned with Schilling or Lawry's Hot Taco mix. Some shredded cheese. Man has no greater love than tacos.
>>8720286
Why did you make avocado slices that are half of the taco? Tired of this meme.
>>8720286
>ground beef with taco mix
>cheese out of a bag
>basically trailer trash tacos

Hey, fuck you, they were delicious!
for those trying to lose or maintain a weight, what are your favorite low calorie snacks?
how creative do you get when thinking up things to eat without going full retard and overdoing it?
do you just eat the same snacks over and over or do you have a lot of variety?
is it healthier in the long run to go for the savory category over the sweet?
Popcorn!
>trying to lose weight
>snacking
>>8720154
i think snacking is fine for people who are extremely overweight or obese as long as it meets the nutritional requirements and stays under the limits of what someone wants less of in their diet
any weird things you eat? combos of food that others give you weird looks for?

I bought a whole box of frozen fried cheese sticks last night and ate them all myself. That was like 14 sticks of deep fried mozzarella.
How do you cu/ck/boys feel about Starbucks?
Starbucks is basically Seven Eleven in most areas now... & there's always a homeless guy treating starbucks as his personal living room & toilet.
All the kids go to Blue Bottle or Philz nowadays...
I don't have Starbucks where I live. Is it true what they say, that it is -the- hangout place for snobby upper middle class teenage/young adult white girls?
>>8719586
i work there.
i would never buy our product.
How do you take your meatloaf?
Ketchup or gravy? What kind of meat? What sides?
In my family, meatloaf was usually half-beef half-turkey, baked in a dish with potatoes, carrots, and turkey or chicken gravy.

"The warmer a whiskey is, the more you’ll pick up on that “heat”; i.e. dominant alcohol flavors and scents. Ice will take the temperature of the whiskey down a few notches, making it a bit more palatable.
As it melts, the ice will also help dilute the whiskey. But sometimes a bit of water helps “open up” the whiskey and release new tastes and aromas."
...hmmm, what do you know?
>>8719485
It's true for more than just whiskey, but some are definitely made with water/ice in mind. Something as insipid as Crown Royal can be made almost a dessert with a splash of soda water - the acidity and hydration opens up brown sugar, vanilla, and caramel, a lot of which comes from the barrels, some of which probably comes from caramel colouring. Some flavours are carried better by water than by alcohols or oils.
>>8719881
>a splash of soda water - the acidity ... opens up brown sugar, vanilla, and caramel
True.
The acidity also cuts the sweetness. I've noticed when carbonating sweet liquids I have to over-sweeten them before carbonation or they come out too dry.
>>8719903
PS
I forgot to ask,
why?
I mean, CO2 isn't acidic, right? So what is it that gives that effect?
starting with one of the best
