How do I escape the tax kuckoldry?
I've heard there's 2 feasible ways for the non-superriches to invest money through tax havens, the first one is offshore investment (through offshore bank accounts), and the second one is starting an offshore investment company

Using tax haven only works if your business is making more than $1m annually and you are planning to travel 9 month a year.
I have a website that is selling shit online and is registered in a tax haven.

Not sure if this is the right board. My firm is moving to an open office plan and I fucking hate it. I'm back-to-back with an employee I don't really know in a tiny C-shaped alcove surrounded by waist-high cubes. There is a guy looking me in the face, a guy looking at my side and a guy looking at my back at all times, plus constant chatter. This is really distracting and puts me on edge.
Have you had to work in this environment? How did you cope? I'm seriously considering leaving my firm over this, it just adds stress on top of my work.

Wait a second.
You have until April 15 of the new year to contribute to a traditional IRA for the previous year.
But you can contribute for the new year as early as the first of January??
So you make a contribution on the first of $5500 for 2016
But then you can make a contribution of $5500 in April for 2015??
How does that work on your deductions? Do you just file for $5500 for 2015 and then $5500 for 2016?

I can't speak 100% abou the USA but it's a retirement account so it should work the same as Canadian RRSP.
basically up until April (or February 29th in Canada) any contribution can either go to the same year or the yesr before, you get to choose to which year this is going.

I asked this a week or so on /biz/ but I didn't really get an answer. In Europe college degrees work a little different so Americans on this board might not be able to relate. I fucked up my exams and didn't get into an honors bachelors in engineering (level 8). I did get into an ordinary bachelors course though (level 7). After this year I have a choice of going into 1st year of general engineering in the honors bachelors or continuing the 3 year course and going into 3rd year after year 3 of the ordinary course. Either way it's going to be 4 more years. If I go into the Honors Bachelor course I'll have to repeat the general year but I'll have the opportunity to get internships and I'll be doing a real course. If I go the ordinary bachelors root I'll have 2 degrees in the end but I might have problems getting experience before graduation. I'm genuinely split between it.

That's not how it works, anon. Tax brackets are progressive. Let's assume they're 10k, 30k, and 50k, just an example, not real numbers
>10k: 10% taxed
>30k: 1k tax plus 15% of everything earned over 10k
>50k: 4k tax plus 25% of everything earned over 30k

I have no idea if I should ask this question here or at /g/ but here it goes.
How would I go about designing, producing, and selling a computer mouse? I have no business or hardware experience so I am a bit lost as to what path to take, what resources I need, and who I would need to know. My mouse design has unique features that would be useful from people with arthritis to hardcore gamers. As someone who plays twitch-reaction games like Counter-Strike and also designs stuff in Blender I'm personally interested in this mouse existing simply for my own conveniences. Since this would be convenient for me I can easily imagine a market of people who meet similar requirements.
Please forgive me if I come off as completely retarded.

You sell them the design. That's it. They're not going to give a cut of anything, so don't expect it. Also, expect that if they don't negotiate something with you that they will rip your idea off and make something similar off-market.

How much can you spare? 3% interest at 40k is 1200 a year to break "even". If you can spare 2400 dollars a year, you are paying off the interest + another 1.2k
Next year you will pay off the interest + 1200 + the balance. So you will pay the same amount every year, while at the same time paying it of faster than the year before without really feeling it, this will amplify itself as time passes and before you know it you are debt free

i find myself having clever ideas for products, businesses, or apps sometimes.. things along those lines. But I don't have the money to make anything happen, and even if I did I have no clue how to start a business or how I'd go about creating an app.
I've recently been reading everything I can about online investing and I just joined Investopedia and started their stock simulator. I really want to get smart about money and become my own boss someday. I am not naive enough to think I'll be day-trading for a living in no time... but my goal is to have that be one source of income.
Does anyone here own their own business or has anyone here started one from scratch? I find my head swimming with ideas but I just never seem to put them down on paper and I must lose like 90% of them. Where'd you get the money to start? How do you go about finding people who can help you make shit happen or work for you? I wouldn't have the slightest clue how to make the App I have the idea for, for example... OR how much I'd charge for it, how it would work, how i'd actually fulfill the orders from people buying it...
I also have a cool idea for a T-shirt company, I don't know. I feel like I have ideas but none of the experience or know-how to do anything with them.. How do I solve this problem?
