I'm applying to work frontline at banks in my city, what aspects of finance and economics should I read about / brush up on so I can demonstrate I know what to do? I have a BBA but have been out of the /biz/ loop for a while and I went to a shit school that taught barely any finance

Frontline? As in a teller? Don't need to know anything other than how to use their system. No one wants your financial advice. You direct customers to the banks products, not your profound insight
>>
>>1038624
I worked at a library for 2 years using an online system and database, you're telling me that should be enough? A friend of mine works at a bank and he says he's learned a lot from working the frontline, it's not just grunt work.

That said I suppose I should have clarified, I want to work frontline and be promoted from there, so if I know my shit going in then the promotion can come faster. I know working as the teller is not difficult.

Brush up on smiling and not fucking up 3 digit addition and subtraction. If you are already good at both, you're going to get a lot of "you are overqualified for this role".

What are your tips for when I'm handing in CV/resumes? So far I've only really handed them to whoever was behind the counter. Should I be talking to the manager? Also any tips for how I should present myself when first meeting people?

Ok so as we know Africans make the most babies, and the Western World's rate of reproduction has dwinddled down.

In addition, Africa is speedily acquiring new technology, electricty- and internet.

So the next big boom / target market is: African Teens.

What do you guys think of a network for african teens/kids to use? AfricaConnect or something cheesy?

"black people twitter" is already cancerous as fuck, imagine when all of africa gets access to internet so they can spam their senpai memes. The end times are near.

How do I develop a work ethic
I read about people that work 100 hours per week and I don't know how they do it. Is it a matter of just forcing yourself to do it, or making it enjoyable, or gradually increase the amount of work you do so you aren't ever stressed out by the increased workload? A high work ethic is essential to accomplishing anything and I must develop it if I hope to amount to something.

How to learn?
Here's how Elon Musk describes his learning method:
>Frankly, though, I think most people can learn a lot more than they think they can. They sell themselves short without trying.

>One bit of advice: it is important to view knowledge as sort of a semantic tree -- make sure you understand the fundamental principles, ie the trunk and big branches, before you get into the leaves/details or there is nothing for them to hang on to.

Is Elon Musk saying that I start with the most basic premises, build upon it and create connections between knowledge points in my head?
What is the best method to truly 'know' something?
How do you go about learning and building your knowledge?

1 last thing.
I went into the CBD (Central Business District) last week and met up with a couple of gold dealers to buy some bullion. They were both men in their mid to late 20s and something I noticed about them was that they had such a calm and confident gaze; it was so affecting that looking into their eyes made me feel like my heartbeat slowed down (no homo). As someone riddled with anxiety I have no fucking idea how they are so... cool. What is it that gives them that quality? It's a really competitive field by the way so these guys are definitely ambitious and competent.

>What is it that gives them that quality?
Idk maybe they have kids. Dealing with responsibility has a way of putting casual social interaction in its proper place.
Or maybe they just spend more time looking at people than a computer screen, unlike you.
>>
>>1038531
More like has kids but hates his family and uses work as an excuse to never see them
>>
>>1038531
>Idk maybe they have kids
Doubt it, they seemed to be in the 'work hard party hard' stage of their lives. And I haven't seen any dads with the quality described.

>Or maybe they just spend more time looking at people
Nope, these guys assurance and self confidence and composure was next level shit, no one I've met in years had their quality.

I got this idea to translate the not so well know e-books in my monder tongue (dutch) and adjust the graphic content a bit. and sell them yourself

Would this work if I play it clever or will I guaranteed end up in jail and get raped?

The key is rewriting. Translate, shuffle shit around and replace some words and you're good to go. Unless you are messing with Simon and Scheister or similar you will have no major problems.

Just get into anything related to system administration, networking or security. Don't fall for the programming meme, at minimum go for software engineer.

So /biz/ seems to be more about stocks and stuff, but I figure I'll give this question a go here.

What do you guys know about personal loans, specifically in relation to credit scores. From what I've been reading it seems that having more then one type of credit (credit cards are all I have) is actually better for your score. Is that true? If I was to take out a small loan, and spend a year or two paying it off, would that help increase my credit score?

Help me understand, /biz/.

Will this bring down competitor ssd prices, like Samsung for instance?
2 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Sata SSD's like those are a thing of the past.

The Future in SSD's are the new M.2 Drives.

They are much faster then the 2.5 inch form factor sata drives.

The m.2 drives have their own 4 lanes of PCI express and so they have alot more room for bandwidth.

Samsung was the first to release them to the public with the 950 PRO

Hey guys,

I'd like some opinions on a couple of things.

1) I've been looking to start regularly investing in index tracker funds and their ilk. I'm pretty young, so I'd be looking for a fairly aggressive weighting in equity.
I'm in this for the long haul (I plan to not cash in on it for as long as possible), but considering the current economic climate, would it be sensible to wait for the economy to get a bit shittier (and thus, a bit cheaper).

2) my job requires me to be financially independent of a number of large financial institutions. A consequence of this is that Vanguard funds are off-limits for me. My reading is probably a few years out of date, so I was wondering if there are any other companies which are managing to emulate or surpass the Vanguard model (that I may be able to get in to).

Thanks

How the fuck do I negociate a high salary?

I've had three interviews and I've got job offers from all three.

The jobs are all pretty much the same but I am a greedy bastard. How do I go about asking for more? Do I mention I've had two other offers and lie about them offering me more or what?
5 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Try to leverage your skills/experience/credentials. P.s If you have none or limited then you cannot.

But say something like "I have experience with x, y, z therefore I would like to ask for a higher salary", desu tho if you're a fresh graduate I wouldn't push your luck too much.

Then again I'm a fucking NEET but it's my guess.
>>
Just contact each one say something like:

"I've got other offers that were X% higher but I would really prefer to work with you, so I wanted to know if you could match to make my decision easier?"

You can make up the X if you want just don't go making it unbelievable.

I did this in a similar position.
One said they could meet me half way, the other said yes, and the third I didn't ask since it was the highest. No one rescinded the offer or seemed offended at all that I asked.
>>
>Do I mention I've had two other offers and lie about them offering me more or what?

Yes. Depending on your line of work say you were offered 10-20% more.

Are we due for another bubble burst of the housing market prices? I am looking to purchase a home soon in the DC Metro area but was considering waiting til prices get lower. I am in the market for a place between 350k-400k.

Where I'm at in the Southeast, prices still haven't gotten close to 2008 levels again.
>>
YES.

They never stopped Derivatives or the CDO's that ruined us in 08.

They just changed the name to something else.

There is over a Quadrillion in Derivatives now.

And its going to do the same thing it did in 08 because the greedy SOB's got bailed out and they never fixed the problem.

They are doing the same BS all over again.

House prices are up back to levels before the crash. Which means they are majorly inflated.

The crash was bailed out, it was not allowed to go all the way.

The Toxic debts were not cleared, only hidden.
