Hey /biz/raelis, I have a question about internships.

Why do I have to go through a bunch of job/internship-searching sites, and links on my college website, and apply for the same ones that my peers are doing; why can't I just find a company or go on linkedin (or even craigslist desu) and find something and directly email them asking if I can intern there?

I'm a freshman btw, looking for summer internships.

You absolutely can bud

there is nothing stopping you from doing this

your college website probably has a better chance of getting you an internship though
>>
Do college students actually have LinkedIn profiles? I was thinking of starting one, but realized that I have nothing to put on it and I won't have any connections.
>>
This works well for small companies. Just make sure they are looking for full time employees too, so you are able to transition if it goes well.

>he subcontracted drywall & sheetrock but was always working for some fatass who made most of the money
>had to drop out and provide for the senpai and hang sheet rock

My question is, how does one get to that position? I have good credit, a bit in my savings, and I consider myself decently knowledgeable in marketing.

Start a business and hire workers to do jobs that you arrange, once things are profitable enough hire an assistant to arrange the jobs / manage people

Why don't you just make a shitty clickbait game to get rich /biz/?

Hey /biz/, I want to start a web-based business and need to build a solid website for it. I'm pretty alright at web design but i want it to look like it was done by a professional so I want to hire one.

My concern is, what's to keep the person I hire from stealing my idea and making his/her own version of my website?

Is there any legal agreement they can sign? Or am I supposed to hope they have no interest?

I live in the United States if thats any help

You're usually protected by the fact that ideas usually are worth fuck all and execution is everything. You're probably being paranoid/delusional.

If you have anything to patent put a temporary patent on that beez and get to business.
>>
You just got to trust that they wont. Lets just face facts no one is going to steal your shitty idea.

People steal my ideas all the time but i just do it better and they give up.

No, American Express is losing some huge vendors. Costco signed a new agreement without them last year, swipe fees are plunging, and competition from VISA, Mastercard, Discover, and banks are pressuring them. That and they're not accepted everywhere.

Considering that clients that use American Express spend more, their clients are being poached by competition.

Has anyone here actually tried Tai Lopez's stuff?
I was thinking of trying his 67 day course thingy, however i don't want to dish out the money for it. If i find it for free i'll try it.
He seems to actually be doing good for himself (mind you i get a feeling he makes his money for the most part from that website and peoples interest in making money)

It doesnt make sense to me. If the market tsnked +5% yesterday in the first 20 min of trading, why would those same sellers not want to sell the next day? I'm calling shenanigans.
>>
>>1031838

because those sellers already sold, the bagholders are individual chinese citizens who aren't allowed to sell their shares for anothers six months

http://www.ft.com/intl/cms/s/0/150fc4aa-b426-11e5-aad2-3e9865bc6644.html#axzz3weNht2j3

The sell ban is separate from the circuit breaker, we would have had the sell off six months ago if the first ban was not put into place. That one was supposed to expire today but was extended to June. China is artificially constraining it's markets, because the CCP politburo seriously thinks this will somehow stop a crash.

Either China has a stock crash now and a mortgage meltdown (since in China people commonly use their homes as collateral for margin calls), or they cause citizens to go bankrupt and cause a mortgage meltdown as people go bankrupt and cause a bank confidence crisis.

I've got $45000 in the bank. I want to use it to make say $2000 a month with minimal effort. I don't like working and just want enough to pay rent and bills and enjoy myself.

Any ideas?

yes it is , you need to start a company registered as a cam modeling company so you have a license to get payed by camming on any site you want so you can pay taxes on your earnings on sites like chaturba and cam4

I have an interview in a couple of weeks for a firm that specializes in training new financial advisors/planners, which would be a great opportunity. Part of the year-long residency would be getting my series 7 and 66 certifications, which I honestly know almost nothing about.

Has anyone on /biz/ taken these exams? Are they easy or hard? I've always done well on standardized tests. I had a 33 on my ACT and when I thought about grad school I was in the 90th percentile for my GRE score. How much effort should I put into preparing for these if I do get the position?

Hello /biz/

Does anyone here make a decent income off of drop shipping? How long did it take to get where you are at?
9 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1031440

I'm averaging $5 - $10 per sale by drop-shipping from reputable companies such as Walmart, Target, and Macys. I'm having to front a shit-ton of cash in order to get it done though.
>>
>>1032456
5-10$ per sale is very good. Are you putting Walmart products on eBay and then shipping from Walmart to buyer directly?
>>
>>1031440
>Does anyone here make a decent income off of drop shipping? How long did it take to get where you are at?

It's a margin business.

I used to sell a few things, but one I sold a lot of. I also can program and can sysadmin, but I was selling for a friend.

We sold one product which sold well. To dropship one cost $39.41 plus UPS shipping. To ship six to us was $36.01 each, and orders over $200 to our office from the supplier were free, so we got free shipping. I called and asked how cheap we could get this if we sold it a little bit more in bulk and got it for $35.53 each. That's a $3.88 difference, which is huge in this business.

They were also the cheapest reliable dropshipper. There were larger ones, but they charged more than $39.41 for our main seller.

Everything is margins, so dropshipping makes little sense usually. $35.53 us shipping it out versus $39.41 them shipping it out. You make money on saving pennies in this business so that's huge. We had competitors who got it for less than $35.53.

If you buy a lot of boxes from Uline, the more you buy the cheaper the boxes. The same with labels, tape, whatever. If you are billing tens of thousands in credit card revenue a month, you can get your fees lowered. And so on. Economies of scale is where the profit comes from.

Anyone can dropship from a dropshipper, that's why there's no money in it.

I usually dropshipped if I was on a trip or something and needed to ship items I sold, usually at a loss.

Sometimes I listed dropshipped items on my web site (or eBay) just to test consumer demand. Always at cost - which was still too high. Because those selling in volume were selling for cheaper than I could, and were still making a profit.

Another thing - as it gets going, very quickly you start to need a real warehouse, and someone to ship items out who is not you. This creeps up quickly - even selling 6-7 items a day can be a burden.
