Alright /biz/ I'm going to be investing for the next week and I need your advice and recommendations. I'm looking for stocks to invest that are under $170. I need a stock that won't lose me much money if it goes down, and it should have a good history. My goal is to retire to Montana when by the time I'm 43. I am using ETrade for all these services.
SELL SELL SELL
Forgot to mention, I'm interested in buying VV, Vanguard Large-Cap ETF.
>>1340296
I have nothing TO sell. These are my first investments.
>>1340296
Ill buy you're deeply discounted stocks that you are selling because the UK left the EU that has nothing to do with fundamental value of the company.
Can you buy happiness?
>>1340277
Not directly.
But you can use money to eliminate anxiety, get nice clothes, have better friends, lead a more interesting life, and be a better person. For most people this is enough to be happy.
>>1340277
I just walked for free through some nice parks and ritzy houses. That was free and made me happy.
On the other hand, money meant I had food and water beforehand, as well as a simple, cheap hovel to return to.
>>1340288
What this guy said.
Money doesn´t buy you happiness. It brings you freedom, and more (of the right kind of) freedom usually brings you more happiness.
What is the job market like in Canada/ US for accountants and CPA's. Is this a good career choice for me?
>>1340229
Prepare for a life of mediocrity. Good luck.
Yes probably but remember CPA is quite different from accountant. As far as the job market, I can only comment on US, where firms are constantly hiring for this skillset. In my school, pretty much everyone went to one of the Big 4, where you'll have a pretty good career assuming you stick to it.

Why do you say this?

what's a good bank with high interest rates?
most are online banks i've never heard of except Ally bank. but reviews of it are bad. or is it just people with bad experience are leaving reviews?
>>1340149
for an online only bank, their website and app are absolute shit
>>1340149
Currently have Ally bank and they have been amazing so far, never had any trouble.
However if you don't like them there is always Discover which you only need $500 dollars to make an account and it has 0.95%
If you want a credit union, go with alliant credit union they offer 1%
Try out Barclay
>buy shoes at Kmart: $12.99/pair!
>upgrade to Admiral shares
>save 0.05% a year

got a question
If I leave a job on my application because I got fired and someone gets hired on and recognizes me as old coworker and management finds out
can I be fired for leaving a job off my application/resume?
>>1340085
No that's not illegal or wrong in any way
>>1340085
>>1340089
Your resume is suppose to be a highlight of your skills/experience.
It's not suppose to be a life story/history. You are allowed to omit things that make you look bad.
You don't need to put "I smoke marijuana from time to time and I also got 4 speeding tickets when i was 17 and also I was drunk a few times while driving but I didn't get pulled over, just thought i'd include that. Also I currently have genital herpes because I have a hooker addiction and i don't like the feel of condoms"
Alright /biz/nessmen, I want to start investing and getting rich off of meme stocks.
What are some must read books or sites?
What shows are worth watching for their tips?
>>1340029
Reminescenses of a stock operator.

Bad advice
If I'd invested in TVIX just a few days ago I could afford to purchase 4chan right now
World recession when? I'm thinking early 2017. can't wait to get on the index fund dip.
At least in the US I think one has started already. Of course they can never announce that sort of news right before a presidential election.
Last jobs report was shit, retail sales are still bad, China in trouble, and brexit fallout will push it over the edge.
>>1340053
We can only hope. If the government can no longer deny the recession, or if there's another bank crisis before the election, Trump's victory will be assured. Also, every Islamic terrorist attack in the west between now and the election will improve Trump's odds, so keep it up muzzies.

Retails just need to die off amazon is Bae

Same here (stupid fucking Robinhood), but it's supposed to be dumped before closing because, if I'm not mistaken, it can actually reset

What do I do when my boss talks mad shit about other employees to me? Like literally calling them stupid or if two people have the same name she'll call one of them her "favorite" of that name.
Does she know I lose all respect for her when she does this? I mean she's probably doing the same thing to me when I'm not there.
If you want to know more about how shit my boss is at her job just ask.
How much more shit is your boss at her job?
>>1339976
how do i know youre not her

>Quit job and find something with better pay

>City where I work doesn't offer studios for any humane d price

So...how do poor people budget living alone? I was going to buy a new car and make payments while living alone but I would only have about 50 bucks leftover a month after making basic assumptions on food, gas, insurance, etc. Also what skills can I learn to get a real job since right now I to retail?
Poor people don't typically live alone.
>>1339923
i only make $2200/month in long island
literally $1200/month rent for a shitty apartment. you have to live with other people in a house
>>1339923
Well how old are you? A lot of people I know usually get roommates which I wouldn't be able to stand.
If you had $100k to invest and your only 3 options were bitcoin, ethereum, and trump coin.
which would you invest in? what percentage of that 100k would you put in each of those crypto's?
>inb4 0% 0% 0%
>>1339922
55% on bitcoins
40% on ethereum
5% on trumpcoin
Bitcoins will definitely go up. It is the gold of the future.
Ethereum is more uncertain. I do think that until something more innovative comes up, it is destined to keep growing and improve its value. So for the time being it is a good investment.
Trumpcoins is a gamble, but if it works, it will multiply your money. It is a short-term, high-risk investment. I would only invest in it a small amount of money. If you lose, you can bear the losses, if you win, you go to the moon, baby!
If my consultation was helpful, feel free to give out in exchange for my services, or donate nothing at all. Economy should be based on rational and free choices, it's up to you my man, I won't hold it against you if I get nothing:

Have a nice evening, anon-kun
100k wouldn't affect bitcoin
100k wouldn't affect ethereum
100k would pump the hell out of Trump
I'd
Buy 100k worth of Trump
Sell it for 200k
Buy 100k of ethereum
Buy 100k of bitcoin
Is a real estate license worth it if you're looking for a good hustle?
only if you're willing to be unethical
>>1339858
why do you think that?

You know what it takes to sell real estate?
